Chapter 326
“You…” The woman’s face turned red in rage. Not only did Wang Zhuyi called her a rat, but she also insulted her in front of her boyfriend. She couldn’t contain her anger anymore and decided to slap Wang Zhuyi for humiliating her.
Before her hand touched Wang Zhuyi’s face, someone came in a blur and pushed Wang Zhuyi backward to receive the slap instead.
Wang Zhuyi’s eyes widened in disbelief when she saw who dare to protect her from an assault.
“B-Brother Fei!” She gasped when she saw the red mark on one side of his handsome face.
Her prince had come to save her?
Wang Zhuyi gripped his sleeve and checked his face.
“Brother Fei, what are you doing here? You don’t have to do this for me.”
Her suppressed tears came in full-blown, marring her cheeks.
Lu Xinyi checked Wang Zhuyi for injuries but found none. Aside from scratches on her legs and coffee stains on her dress, there was no wound or blood in sight.
“Are you hurt?”
Wang Zhuyi continued to cry. “Don’t worry about me, Brother Fei…”
“How could I not?” Lu Xinyi asked, “I saw you were crying. What do you want me to do? I’m the man here. I should be the one to protect you.”-.
At those words, Wang Zhuyi was tempted to cry harder. Instead of answering him, she buried her face on his arm and begged for him to take her away from that place.
The four women insulting Wang Zhuyi were at a loss for words, especially the one who dared to assault her. In her eyes, Lu Feiran was the perfect man. The perfect prince she’d been dreaming since she was young.
Just by observing his actions, she could tell that he was also coming from a wealthy family. His clothes were a limited edition of a luxury brand. He was probably filthy rich and a big shot within the Capital City.
The man who just made a sudden appearance to help Wang Zhuyi could be described with so many words, and yet all the people who’d seen what he’d done to save her only thought that he was too cool.
His voice didn’t have any trace of pretentiousness. He was truly concerned about the woman. The way he checked Wang Zhuyi for injuries made the other women envy her.
“Oh my god! Who is this prince?! He’s so cool.”
“He’s really cool and handsome! Is he Miss Wang’s boyfriend? No wonder she said she’s not interested in another man. How could he compare to such a handsome prince like him?”
“Shh… don’t cry,” Lu Xinyi whispered to Wang Zhuyi. She took off her black jacket and covered the other woman’s jacket with it before tucking some stray hair strands of her hair behind her ear. “Let’s go. We can buy your coffee somewhere else, but first, we need to change your soiled clothes.”
Lu Xinyi lead the crying Wang Zhuyi outside the cafe. Once Wang Zhuyi settled inside and stopped crying, Lu Xinyi closed her door and moved to open the driver’s seat. She drove away, aware that people were staring at them with shock and confusion on their face.
“Who’s that Prince?! Please, someone, tell me what’s his name?”
“Yes, yes. How come we’ve never seen him around before?”
“Have you seen the car he was driving?”
“What about it?”
“That was a deluxe Maybach. I heard it’s very rare and cost about eight million dollars.”
“Eight fucking million dollars?! Just who was that dude?”
“Are you blind? Didn’t you see the mark on its plate? It bears the insignia of the Shen family.”
When someone mentioned the Shen family, everyone turned to look at the group of girls that harassed Wang Zhuyi. Did that mean that the ash-blonde-hair prince came from the Shen family? It was known that the Shen family liked getting even to those who offended them.
The four women trembled in fear. If he was indeed a member of the Shen family, then they were doomed.
—
Wang Zhuyi ceased her crying, but she was really ashamed that her prince found her under such bad circumstances. She wondered if he’d heard her vulgar words against those women. She turned her attention outside the window and saw that he was driving somewhere else far from the business district.
“I’m really sorry for the trouble, Brother Fei…”
“How many times do you need to apologize today, Miss Wang?” Lu Xinyi teased. “It wasn’t your fault.”
For the second time that day, Lu Xinyi arrived at Flair Apparel. She stormed inside with Wang Zhuyi following like a scared, drenched cat.
“Boss! You are back. So how’s your date?” Xia Yuhan grinned and let Lu Xinyi slumped on the couch while turning her gaze at Wang Zhuyi.
“Not bad, but we need some help.” She pointed at Wang Zhuyi.
“Oh? It’s Miss Wang. What happened to you?” Xia Yuhan asked.
“Hello, Miss Xia. I didn’t know you are acquainted with Brother Fei.” Wang Zhuyi greeted back.
Xia Yuhan’s brows shot up, hitting her fringe. ‘Brother Fei?’
“You know her?” Lu Xinyi asked her subordinate. Xia Yuhan hummed and nodded.
“Of course, I know her. How could I not? Miss Wang ordered several clothes as a gift from Flair Apparel.”
Lu Xinyi nodded but didn’t ask more questions.
“Please give her some new clothes. We cannot go back at Shen Group with her like this.”
“Which one should we give her?” Xia Yuhan asked.
After all, Lu Xinyi was the owner now, and the main decisions should be made by her. Lu Xinyi crossed her legs and rub her chin stared outside in deep thought.
“You may give her one of the clothes from your latest collections.”
“Alright,” Xia Yuhan said. She understood at once what was running on Lu Xinyi’s mind.
With Wang Zhuyi’s social status, anyone who would see what she was wearing would automatically notice their brand. She might not be as popular as Li Qiao, but she’d never seen poorly dressed in public.
After returning from abroad, Wang Zhuyi was able to gather some followers that greatly praise her fashion style and choices.
Xia Yuhan was deeply impressed with Lu Xinyi’s insight. Oh, so this was why she agreed to help Shen Xue then? This evil woman surely had a lot of tricks on her sleeve.
Xia Yuhan clapped her hands, and two store assistants came immediately on her side.
“Bring one of the clothes from our Autumn Collection. Make sure it is her size.”
The assistant led Wang Zhuyi to the changing rooms and gave her the clothes their boss mentioned. While Wang Zhuyi was changing, Lu Xinyi pulled out her phone and didn’t receive any messages from her husband.
Was he mad? She dearly hoped he wasn’t, but she wasn’t so sure that her brother-in-law would survive the day and see another sunrise once Shen Yi found out what was happening. Lu Xinyi decided she’d deal with him later, but for now, she needed to bring back Wang Zhuyi at Shen Group and ripped off the necessary payment from Shen Xue.
Heh, who said she was helping him for free?
Aside from their food purchases today, she gave Xia Yuhan Shen Xue’s card so she could put the tabs on him. Lu Xinyi would also make sure he would pay for today’s services.
She was deep in her thoughts that she didn’t hear Wang Zhuyi stepping outside the changing room and moved to stand near her.
“Brother Fei, what do you think? How do I look?”
“With eyes?” Lu Xinyi answered without thinking.
Wang Zhuyi and Xia Yuhan grew silent.
Lu Xinyi coughed on her hand and stood up. She then gave Miss Wang a good look, appreciating how the dress fitted her body perfectly as if the clothes were made just for her.
“It seemed everything you wear looks good on you, Miss Wang,” she answered truthfully and successfully bit off the perverted remarks that followed her thoughts.
“Thank you, Brother Fei…”
The woman blushed profusely from Lu Xinyi’s complement. She looked like a teenage girl that was confessed to by her crush.
Xia Yuhan covered her smile with the back of her hand when she realized that Miss Wang had mistakenly taken her boss as a man. Ah, so it looked like President Shen shouldn’t only be wary of the men coming after his wife because he would have to fend both men and women off of Lu Xinyi.
