Little Miss Devil: The President's Mischievous Wife

Chapter 24

Not perverted, eh? He will make sure she wouldn’t turn her attention to another man.

Shen Yi was a selfish man and he hadn’t an intention to share her with anyone.

One corner of his lips lifted in a smirk, he couldn’t be more pleased that he could make his adorable wife blush like a fire truck.

“Just admit that you like what you see,” his voice was husky against her ears in a whisper that only the two of them could hear.

“Never!” she hissed.

“Over my delicious body?”

He was unable to conceal his mirth.-.

“Yes!”

It was then Lu Xinyi something was wrong when his grin widened. Her eyes went wide as she hit him again with her fists.

“…”

“You tricked me! You shameless bastard!”

“Nah-ah, darling. No take backs allowed.” Shen Yi laughed before pecking her nose making her mouth to shut up instantly.

Did he just….?

“Yes, I did.” Shen Yi said as if answering her unspoken question. With an exasperated sigh, he let go of his wife’s wrist and then ran his huge hand on her messy hair. “Go take a bath, let’s have some breakfast before I leave. See you downstairs.”

He winked while Lu Xinyi stuck out her tongue in irritation.

The aroma of something cooking on his kitchen permeated within the living room. Shen Yi had already finished his morning preparation when he came down to the kitchen where his wife was making breakfast for the two of them. She was wearing a white shirt and tight jeans that show off her feminine curves in a nice way. His two dogs that purposely forgotten him, laid on the floor, watching Lu Xinyi cooking.

“What’s for breakfast?” He asked while adjusting his collar and pulling out his necktie that he couldn’t tie properly.

“Just a simple fried rice.” Lu Xinyi replied while her eyes glued on the rice she was cooking, her hand expertly stirred and mixed the ingredients with confidence.

“I didn’t know you can cook.”

Lu Xinyi took the bacon she set aside earlier, poured on the wok, and stirred through. Shen Yi noticed she wasn’t using a spatula instead she used two larger chopsticks to stir her fried rice. She then added some vegetables and seasoned the fried rice with a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of soy sauce to give it a nice light brown color.

Turning off the heat, she added the scallions and gave it another stir. She added a drizzle of toasted sesame oil and gently stirred to incorporate the flavors well.

Lu Xinyi took the bowls she prepared earlier and scooped the fried rice into two bowls.

“I’m done! Let’s eat!” she exclaimed happily as she served the bowls on their dining table.

Shen Yi sat across her on the table. His mouth watered from the nice aroma coming from the fried rice. It had been too long since he had a home-cooked meal. It was like the fried rice was calling out to him, telling him to dig in to savor its delectable flavor.

Lu Xinyi can cook? It seemed he just hit the jackpot when he married her!

He had only ever eaten cheap takeout fried rice before and didn’t love it. It was overly salty, gluey and filled with dried vegetables and rubbery meat, added with dry shredded eggs that he couldn’t even taste.

“Don’t you like it?” Lu Xinyi asked, noticing that Shen Yi hadn’t started eating.

Shen Yi broke away from his daze and slowly took his chopsticks to eat. Lu Xinyi held her breath as her husband took the first bite on her fried rice. His eyes met hers while he slowly chewed the rice on his mouth. His face unreadable.

He was surprised that she could prepare and cook something like this. It was way better than any fried rice he’d tasted before!

Her fried rice was elegant and lightly seasoned. The rice grains that she used were individual and not soggy. It was kissed with soy sauce and toasted sesame oil. The small puffy pillows of egg looked very appetizing. The bacon also added another flavor in her fried rice.

Lu Xinyi’s fried rice was a deceptively simple dish. It was deceptive because, despite its spare appearance, the flavors will leave anyone asking for more. Her dish turned out to be perfect.

“So, how is it?” Lu Xinyi asked. She was a little nervous that Shen Yi wouldn’t like it because it was too simple and he might be used having expensive and high-class breakfast like the Eggs Benedict that she had no idea how to cook.

“Amazing.” he replied, “Simply amazing.”

For someone like Shen Yi who was a picky eater, and wasn’t the type to go around openly praising anyone, receiving a compliment from him was very unlikely to hear.

To hear him calling it amazing, Lu Xinyi couldn’t keep the bright smile off her face and fight off the blush on her cheeks.
