Chapter 3063: Chapter 3072: Renee Anderson Is Out

"I’ll go with you." The handsome man immediately stood up.

"No need, I can go myself..."

Before she could finish her refusal, someone had already taken her hand with an air of casual nobility, "I don’t feel safe letting you go alone. Let’s go."

Olivia herself hadn’t figured out what was happening, but the initiative had slipped from her hands into Adam’s hands, and she was led toward the restroom...

Compared to their temporary reconciliation, the atmosphere was tense and cold outside the Police station in City W.

The night wind in the evening of the transitioning season from summer to autumn made people shiver.

Renee Anderson felt an immediate sense of being released from a cage the moment she walked out of the Police station with the lady. She first looked up at the sky, then bit her lower lip, her gaze becoming increasingly somber.

"What are you still doing here? Come back with me." Mrs. Anderson saw her looking dazed, as if a gust of wind could blow her away, a pang of heartache struck her, "Let’s go, don’t think about it anymore, what’s past is past."

"Is it really all past?" Renee lowered her head, clenched her fists, her nails deeply embedded in her flesh, as if she didn’t feel the pain, she said determinedly to Mrs. Anderson, "Mom, you go back first. I have something to do, I need to go somewhere."

Mrs. Anderson grabbed her, both angry and anxious, "Where are you going again! You’ve just had a miscarriage and then spent such a long time at the Police station, and you’re not going to rest and take care of your body, where are you running off to? You mustn’t go, come back with me. Change your clothes and wash your face well, go see your dad! Your dad has been thinking about you these days, asking me where you’ve gone. I haven’t dared to tell him about you, I’ve been lying saying you’re on a business trip. It’s been so long, you should be back from your business trip by now."

Upon hearing her mention Dad still in the Hospital, Renee’s expression showed a flicker of hesitation, but it was quickly replaced by resolve as she freed herself from Mrs. Anderson’s grip, insisting, "I’ll go see Dad later, don’t worry, I’ll be back soon."

She swiftly hailed a passing taxi, preventing Mrs. Anderson from stopping her, opened the door, and got in. Facing the now angry and changed expression of the lady outside the car, she said, "Mom, just go home, I’ll call you before heading to the Hospital."

"Why are you so disobedient?" The lady’s voice was heavy with anger.

Facing her rebuke, Renee’s pale, emaciated face was already stubborn with determination, "Because I’m unwilling to live a defeated life forever. Mom, didn’t you teach me? If there’s a chance, seize it at all cost. Sometimes, when we really want something, even if there’s no opportunity, we have to create one! Fate is in our own hands. A woman has two opportunities in life to get what she wants. The first is birth, which we cannot choose. The second is marriage, which we can choose."

Mrs. Anderson was left speechless by her words, especially when she looked at her pale and haggard face, for a moment she even doubted whether she had used the wrong educational methods from childhood.

But all the principles she had taught her were her own paths to success and seemed not to be wrong.

"Mom, just go home, once I finish my business here, I’ll come back right away, I’ll go see Dad, don’t worry." Renee finished speaking and calmly rolled up the car window, instructing the taxi driver to drive away...
