Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2648 - 2657: Looks Like He’s Not Even Sick

Chapter 2648: Chapter 2657: Looks Like He’s Not Even Sick

The room Old Master Lawrence stays in is the VIP of VIPs, a spacious room with bright floor-to-ceiling windows and light gray furniture, making the whole space warm and comfortable, nothing like a hospital room.

Old Master Lawrence is lying on the spacious hospital bed.

Contrary to what Enna Clark imagined, he doesn’t look very weak. Although there’s still an infusion in his wrist, he is propped up to sit half upright on the bed. There’s a lowered dining table in front of him with documents on it. His hair is meticulously combed, his handsome face cold and tough, with a pair of gold-rimmed glasses hanging over his eyes, as he lowers his head to look at the documents beside him.

Just looking at his appearance, if it weren’t for the infusion bottle hanging from his hand, you’d never guess he’s a patient.

He probably heard the sound of Enna Clark and the others opening the door, raised his head, and looked over at them. Upon seeing Enna Clark and the others, he casually removed the glasses from his eyes and put them aside. Supporting himself with his elbows, he pinched the bridge of his nose and said, "Here you are."

"Yes, how are you?"

Enna Clark was speechless.

What kind of cold conversation was this? On the way here, she was worried sick about Old Master Lawrence’s health, yet upon seeing him, he behaved like this.

"I’m fine, it’s just the old ailments that come with age." Old Master Lawrence and Baron Lawrence are like two peas in a pod, sharing the same personality. One asks rigidly, the other answers just as stiffly.

Enna Clark couldn’t bear it any longer and stepped in between the two, walking to the bedside of Old Master Lawrence, pulling up a chair to sit down. She picked up the nearby fruit plate and asked, "Grandpa, would you like to eat an apple? I’ll peel it for you."

Old Master Lawrence didn’t find his conversation with Baron Lawrence stiff; he was used to interacting this way. But when he heard Enna Clark’s smiling face ask if he wanted an apple, his resolute features softened a bit, "Well, I can’t eat much."

"It’s okay, I’ll peel one for you, you can eat as much as you want." Enna Clark picked up the fruit knife, slowly peeling the apple while saying, "Gigi just went back to sleep. Once she wakes up later, I’ll have Scott Harris bring her over to watch some TV with you. And Bobby, I’ll have him come by after school."

She spoke in a casual tone, as if she were chatting with Old Master Lawrence, her gentle voice resonating in the room, adding vitality to the spacious but too cold hospital room.

When Old Master Lawrence heard about Gigi, his eyes visibly softened, his lips rarely relaxing as he said, "Let her sleep. There’s nothing fun here, she’d be bored."

"No, she was clamoring to watch ’Detective Conan’ with you a few days ago. Her brother wouldn’t allow her to watch this cartoon. Only with Grandpa can she watch it. If she watches that cartoon, she’ll be overjoyed and jumping around. If you let her watch all afternoon, she won’t blink an eye. Besides, she doesn’t need someone to accompany her, she has lots of ideas to entertain herself. She’s recently taken to telling stories, as long as Grandpa doesn’t mind her being noisy."

Giselle Lawrence has recently become fascinated with storytelling. She used to like listening to bedtime stories, but now, having listened to so many, she’s fallen in love with telling stories to others.

Though she’s young and doesn’t know how to read, she mainly relies on her memory to tell stories. Sometimes she can’t remember parts and just makes them up. A tale that begins as the Little Mermaid ends up becoming Sleeping Beauty.
