Chapter 1855: Chapter 1845: How Do Couples Make Up After a Fight?
Baron Lawrence didn’t care about the money; what he wanted was Enna Clark at her most beautiful that day!
As for money, the Lawrence Corporation never lacked it, nor did he.
"Yes."
Scott Harris had seen the hardships Enna Clark had endured over the years, so he didn’t find Baron’s actions overly extravagant or wasteful. He quickly agreed.
Before long, the car pulled up under Birch Garden.
Baron Lawrence got out of the car and headed back to his mansion first.
The large house was exquisitely designed and of high quality. When he left, he felt the air there wasn’t great, almost oppressive. He even considered moving to another suite.
But upon returning, he found he liked every piece of furniture there.
Even the air seemed fresher than usual.
He sat on the couch, and after a servant thoughtfully brewed him a cup of coffee, they quietly withdrew without disturbing him.
In a good mood, Baron Lawrence reclined on the couch and, as if remembering something, took out his phone to call Terry Leigh.
Even though his phone only stored Enna Clark’s number, his memory was excellent, and he could usually remember any number he’d dialed before. Not to mention the numbers of people like Terry Leigh or Adam Sinclair.
"Beep..." The call on the other end was picked up after just one ring.
Rupert Harris’s cold, hoarse voice came through, "Hello? Do you know what time it is in Linton City right now?"
"I don’t know." He only wanted to ask one question.
"..." Resisting the urge to punch him, Rupert got up from bed, covered the person beside him with a blanket, and quietly walked to the balcony. The sky outside was dark, and there were very few cars on the road. After taking in a breath of the cool night air, he said, "It’s now four-thirty in the morning in Linton City. Why are you calling me in the middle of the night?"
These days, even Adam Sinclair had called him quite a few times.
Today, it was Baron’s turn.
Do they both think he doesn’t need any rest?
Couldn’t they wait till daytime to say what they had to say?!
"How do you make up after a fight with your partner?" Baron Lawrence’s voice was charming, but the question sounded anything but charming to Rupert Harris.
His temples throbbed wildly, feeling his anger rising. But being a person who practiced restraint, he managed to suppress it and replied in an annoyed tone, "You called me in the middle of the night just to ask me this question?"
Baron Lawrence seemed to think it was obvious, "If I don’t ask you, should I ask Adam Sinclair? He can’t even resolve his own issues!"
"..." As if he could solve his own either!
Rupert, yanked out of bed in the middle of the night, was only further irked by this ridiculous domestic squabble topic that even a dog would dismiss. Half his irritation evaporated in the night breeze. He decided to get a cup of hot cocoa, went back to the balcony, and leisurely asked, "So, did you and Ms. Clark have a fight?"
"No, I feel like we finished the fight, but Enna Clark thinks it’s not finished." He had long forgotten about the quarrel itself, but having spoken the words of breakup, he couldn’t bring himself to approach her.
Rupert took a sip of hot cocoa, warming his stomach, and a thoughtful expression appeared on his cold, rigid face, "Then it means you’re fighting."
They’d been friends for so many years, of course they knew Baron’s character.
It was definitely something overly excessive Baron had done that Ms. Clark couldn’t tolerate, which led to the fight.
"So I’m asking you, usually after a fight with Emm... what’s her name, what do you do?" Damn, what was Terry Leigh’s girlfriend’s name again?
