Ling Tian Sword God
Chapter 1355 - 1354: Dragon Elephant Prince
Chapter 1355: Chapter 1354: Dragon Elephant Prince
Ling Chen smiled noncommittally. Having dealt with wolves a lot, no one knew better than him about their nature. Once they get a piece of meat from him, they will always crave more.
Human greed is endless.
"Alas."
Uncle Fang shook his head, sighing. For a swordsman, the sword is the most important thing, more important than life. The fact that Ling Chen remained indifferent after his Treasure Sword was snatched away indicated that he no longer considered himself a swordsman and had completely given up on himself.
But thinking about it, there was nothing he could do. Ling Chen’s cultivation was already ruined, and he was probably in utter despair now. Even if he wanted to resist, he was powerless and could only watch helplessly as his Treasure Sword was taken away.
The reason Ling Chen appeared calm and composed might likely be a facade.
"Poor him."
Uncle Fang sighed again, expressing sympathy for Ling Chen’s situation, "Unfortunately, I made a vow to avoid using my strength to evade enemies, so I’m really sorry."
Shaking his head, Uncle Fang then followed along, feeling guilty.
...
Not far from the fishing village, there was a rather bustling city. It was one of the few cities on Fish-dragon island and also the center of the Southern Region of Fish-dragon island.
At this moment, in the largest tavern in the city.
This person was none other than the controller of the Southern Region of Fish-dragon island, one of the four princes of the Fish Dragon Sect, the Dragon Elephant Prince.
"Senior Brother Long!"
Just as the Dragon Elephant Prince was having a good time, suddenly, a figure rushed into the private room from outside. The figure was the brawny man in black who had just taken the Red Sky Sword from Ling Chen.
"Why have you come?"
Having his fun interrupted, the Dragon Elephant Prince also showed displeasure, withdrawing his hands from the two beauties, and said coldly: "If it’s not something important, you know the consequences."
"Don’t worry, Senior Brother Long, this time it’s definitely a great gift."
The brawny man in black grinned and, without wasting words, presented the Red Sky Sword tightly wrapped in cloth.
"A sword?"
The Dragon Elephant Prince frowned, showing no emotion. He had seen many good swords, and ordinary Treasure Swords could not impress him.
As the cloth was torn open, a dazzling and scorching beam of light suddenly burst out, with a sharp aura emanating from the red sword blade, instantly filling the entire private room!
"What a magnificent sword!"
The eyes of the Dragon Elephant Prince suddenly lit up, and he jumped up.
This sword was more exquisite and sharp than any other Treasure Sword he had ever seen.
This was a Holy Tier Treasure Sword.
Moreover, he seemed to feel a hint of Sword Spirit within this sword.
A Holy Tier Treasure Sword with a Sword Spirit.
"Where did you get this sword from?"
The Dragon Elephant Prince fixed his gaze on the brawny man in black as if trying to see through him, wondering how such a powerful sword could come into the hands of someone like this.
"Got it from a severely injured kid."
Under the intense gaze of the Dragon Elephant Prince, the brawny man in black started sweating on his forehead and quickly said, "I found out that the kid was beaten half-dead, drifted to Fish-dragon island, and was saved by a fisherman. I snatched this sword from his hands."
"Bullshit!"
The Dragon Elephant Prince suddenly shouted coldly, "Someone capable of using a sword of this level cannot be an ordinary person. How could you possibly be a match for the sword’s owner?"
Receiving a harsh reprimand from the Dragon Elephant Prince, the brawny man in black was so frightened that he knelt down, hastily explaining: "I’m telling the truth. The boy might have once been some kind of expert or held an unusual status, but now, he’s like a sick cat, presumably having suffered extremely severe injuries. I could sense that his True Qi was very sparse, making him no expert at all."
"Is that so?" The eyes of the Dragon Elephant Prince suddenly lit up, "A half-dead guy carrying such a valuable treasure?"
It was likely that there were more good things on him than just this sword.
The heavens had awarded him with this opportunity.
As long as he killed Ling Chen, everything on the latter would belong to him.
The Dragon Elephant Prince’s mind was quickly activated, and he lost interest in the women entirely. He immediately focused on the brawny man in black and asked, "Where is the owner of this sword now?"
"In the fishing village to the south, if he hasn’t left, that is," the brawny man in black answered cautiously.
"Quick, take me to find him!"
The Dragon Elephant Prince appeared very anxious. To him, the current Ling Chen was a mobile treasure trove. If Ling Chen escaped or was preempted by other members of the Fish Dragon Sect, it would be a colossal loss.
"Yes!"
Seeing the eagerness on the Dragon Elephant Prince’s face, the brawny man in black knew that this time he had accomplished a great task. As long as he helped the Dragon Elephant Prince find the boy, the benefits would undoubtedly be significant for him.
With that, the two stormed out of the tavern.
Back at the fishing village, however, everything remained calm and peaceful.
In the courtyard, Ling Chen held the Thunder Sound Sword in his hand, repeatedly practicing a simple set of movements slowly—swinging out and retracting the sword.
The injuries on his body had mostly healed, thanks to the Undying Fruit. Otherwise, considering the severe injuries he had suffered, even with the Saint Body, it would have been impossible for Ling Chen to recover so quickly.
After the Dantian was repaired, his True Qi had roughly reassembled to about ten percent. However, the reassembly process was extremely slow. Without the assistance of Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures, Ling Chen could only rely on elixirs and cultivation to try and enhance the reassembly speed.
"Brother Ling Chen, what are you doing over there?"
Little Butterfly approached. Seeing Ling Chen continuously repeating the same actions, she found it a bit odd.
"Practicing sword."
Ling Chen just smiled slightly and replied.
"Practicing sword? I’ve never seen anyone practice sword like that."
Little Butterfly had a rough understanding of martial arts. She had seen others practice swordsmanship, but no one did it like Ling Chen, moving like an old man slowly.
"This is how I practice the sword."
Ling Chen showed a noncommittal expression and then looked at the nearby Little Butterfly with a smile, "If you want to learn, I can teach you."
"I don’t want to learn this old man’s sword technique."
Little Butterfly stuck out her tongue, not wanting to discourage Ling Chen. His sword technique seemed no different than the Taiji exercises performed by the grandfather next door.
Ling Chen also smiled speechlessly. Ordinary people couldn’t see the subtlety in his sword technique. Moreover, since he was currently focused on reassembling his True Qi and not using it, his movements might appear a bit unusual. However, anyone truly understanding swords would be able to sense the realm within his movements.
Uncle Fang, not far off, had a contemplative expression on his face. He found it odd; Ling Chen seemed akin to an old man performing Taiji, but within that, there appeared to be a faint presence of meaning, though it was perplexing to him, seeming both real and unreal.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
Just as Uncle Fang was puzzling over this, several sounds of wind-breaking suddenly echoed from outside, causing his expression to change drastically. Looking over, he saw the figures emblazoned with Fish-dragon emblems, led by a burly figure resembling a beast, exuding an immensely imposing aura.
"Dragon Elephant Prince!"
Uncle Fang’s face immediately turned as pale as paper.
