Ling Tian Sword God
Chapter 1351 - 1350: Fish-dragon Island
Chapter 1351: Chapter 1350: Fish-dragon Island
After the Elder of the Lingyue Island dove into the sea, Saint Qian Yan and the other two trembled, releasing a wave of power that shattered the blue light barrier trapping them all around.
"Third Brother, why did you tell her that brat might still be alive?"
The Fifth Elder looked at Saint Qian Yan in some confusion. "If that brat really isn’t dead and gets found by that old woman, won’t all our efforts have been for nothing?"
"If I didn’t say that, would she have let us go so easily?"
Saint Qian Yan couldn’t help but shoot the Fifth Elder a sidelong glance. "In our current state, even if we join forces, we’re probably still no match for her. Even if one or two of us manage to escape, someone will definitely be killed or captured. Which one of you wants to be caught? Or die here?"
Hearing this, the Fifth Elder fell silent. Saint Qian Yan wasn’t wrong. When they encircled Ling Chen earlier, their True Qi had been greatly depleted. Afterwards, Ling Chen forcibly broke the Three-Element Fire Demon Array they had laid jointly, leaving all of them heavily injured. As they were now, even combined they were no match for the Elder of the Lingyue Island.
"Relax. This sea region is so vast—finding any trace of Ling Chen is easier said than done."
Saint Qian Yan gazed out over the sea before him, eyes flickering. "Besides, we know better than she does exactly where Ling Chen’s body fell."
As his words fell, Saint Qian Yan’s gaze landed on a patch of sea not far away.
That was precisely the spot where Ling Chen had fallen earlier.
"Go!"
Saint Qian Yan suddenly barked, then shot forward like a cannon shell, plunging into the seawater of the target area. The Fifth and Sixth Elders, seeing this, followed in succession, diving into the sea.
Two hours later.
The three of them broke through the surface, rising into the air above the sea, their expressions slightly overcast.
"We actually didn’t find that brat’s corpse?"
Saint Qian Yan’s eyes flickered. The three of them had turned this nearby sea region upside down, yet hadn’t found any trace of Ling Chen.
"Could that old hag from Lingyue Island have found him?" the Sixth Elder said.
"Impossible."
Saint Qian Yan shook his head. Even they hadn’t found Ling Chen; the Elder of the Lingyue Island was even less likely to.
"Then he must’ve been eaten by fish."
The Fifth Elder spoke offhandedly. Ling Chen had already been wounded to such a state by the three of them that it was impossible for him to escape their grasp. Yet now he had simply vanished from their sight. Aside from ending up in some fish’s belly, there was no other possibility.
"Whatever the case, we keep searching a bit longer. If we still come up empty after another Hour, we’ll return to the Sect and report to the Sect Leader."
After pondering for a moment, Saint Qian Yan came to a decision. That Elder of the Lingyue Island was still nearby; if they ran into her, it would be troublesome. Besides, Fifth Brother’s analysis wasn’t bad—there was a high chance Ling Chen had ended up in some fish’s stomach. If they still couldn’t find him, there would basically be no need to keep searching.
And the three of them were all heavily injured now; they had to find a place to heal as soon as possible.
"All right!"
The Fifth and Sixth Elders nodded, then split up and once again slipped into the water.
...
Deep under the sea.
Everywhere was endless blue. Amid that seemingly boundless expanse of seawater, there floated a pale blue bubble, solitary and alone. Within the bubble’s interior, one could distinctly see a figure.
The figure was drenched in blood, his white robes completely dyed red, his body covered in wounds. He was clearly already unconscious, unaware of anything.
This figure within the bubble was none other than Ling Chen, who had been beaten half to death by Saint Qian Yan and the other two and then plunged into the sea.
Right now, Ling Chen had lost all awareness. His body was like duckweed without roots, drifting aimlessly in the water with no destination.
This was already the deep sea. The immense water pressure bore down on Ling Chen’s body, but the layer of water bubble surrounding him was currently shielding him from the pressure, ensuring his body remained unaffected.
This layer of water bubble was released by the Water Dragon Orb.
All of a sudden, the currents violently surged. A terrifying vortex rose up from the seabed. The undersea vortex was extremely fierce, and a shocking devouring force burst forth, swallowing up all the nearby currents.
Countless marine creatures were consumed by the vortex. Among them, including the bubble surrounding Ling Chen, all were sucked in by that devouring force, swallowed by the seabed vortex.
Ling Chen’s body vanished in an instant.
...
Between Yingzhou and the Nine Provinces Land lay a vast sea spanning tens of thousands of miles.
Within that boundless sea, there were countless barren islands. Yet there were also quite a few inhabited ones. Many were settled by experts from the Nine Provinces or Yingzhou who had come to these overseas lands and taken up residence here, spreading Martial arts and civilization.
Fish-dragon Island was one of the larger of these civilized islands.
The island had a population of several million, of which warriors accounted for about one in fifty. Compared to the Nine Provinces Land, this ratio was already far higher.
After all, many who came to Fish-dragon Island were wanted criminals and sinners from the Nine Provinces Land, seeking to evade charges or flee from enemies. There were also experts who wished to live in seclusion overseas. Together, they had produced such a high proportion of warriors.
All over Fish-dragon Island were scattered countless villages and towns. Some of these towns and villages had tens of thousands of people; the smaller ones had several thousand, spread across the entire island.
Along the island’s shore, a few dozen scattered figures could be seen—fishermen from the island.
A young girl of about fifteen or sixteen, dressed in rough hemp clothes, was fishing by the sea.
Suddenly, the fishing rod in her hand shook violently, as if she had hooked a big fish. The entire rod bent sharply downward.
"A big fish took the bait!"
A look of sudden delight rushed onto the hemp-clad girl’s small face. Yet even using all her strength, the rod refused to budge, and instead looked about to drag both rod and girl into the sea.
"Dad, come here, quick!"
The hemp-clad girl shouted toward a white-haired middle-aged man with a scarred face not far away.
The white-haired middle-aged man looked over, his expression shifting slightly, and immediately rushed over. He grabbed the girl’s hands that were holding the rod, then exerted force to haul the fishing rod up.
Splash!
A human figure was forcibly yanked out of the water and, with a heavy thud, slammed onto the shore.
"It’s a person!"
The moment she saw the figure hanging from the hook, the hemp-clad girl’s mouth fell open. She’d actually fished up a person?
"He’s not already dead, is he?"
The girl cautiously studied the figure she’d reeled in. He wasn’t very old, just a little over twenty from the looks of it, but his whole body reeked—the clear sign that he’d been soaking in seawater for a very long time.
The white-haired middle-aged man crouched down and placed his hand on the man’s wrist to feel his pulse. His face quickly turned to astonishment. "He’s not dead yet!"
The young man’s pulse was extremely weak, but there was at least still a pulse, proving he was still alive.
