Chapter 149: Purple Iris [Non Privi Bonus Chapter]

The group wasted no time heading out for Death Valley, which was conveniently marked in all of their systems. This was going to be a trek. They were up to 22% of the Land of Summoned Monsters mapped via Tyler’s system and this looked to be on the complete opposite side of that map. There was a pulsating red dot amongst a sea of black. They were walking in blind.

The journey started pretty standard for the Eidolon Realm. Beasts up to legendary appeared and they were able to handle them without any real problems. They were now at a level where it didn’t really mean much for them. Before, when they were below S, killing 100 legendary beasts would send them all up a rank. Now it did nothing but provide a minor experience bump in their large bars. For Tyler, Sophie and Nyx, the bar just remained full. It took exceptional quests, like signing Alexandria for Tyler or defeating her for Nyx to "rank up."

Levels stopped mattering for Tyler a long time ago. He just didn’t expect that to be true for his wives. Amanda and Kass weren’t even gaining much. After the first round of beasts, they made their way deeper into the realm and noticed everything was changing color. Everything looked like it was under fluorescent lighting.

"Woah, this looks really cool," Kass said while grazing her finger over some of the flowers.

{Inspect.} Nyx thought.

{Purple Iris. Rare magical flower with many beneficial effects.}

"Kass stop! We need those!" Nyx shouted.

"Shit..." Sophie said, hearing the rumbling of a massive beast horde.

"Get the flowers, I’ll take care of the beasts," Tyler said.

"Alexandria link up."

"Huh?" She asked.

"Lend me your power," Tyler laughed.

"Oh, sure."

"Is he a fucking dragon?!" Amanda said in disbelief as Tyler kicked off the ground. The only recognizable feature of him was his face, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t breathe fiery ice shards.

"This doesn’t even make sense. How can you breathe fire and ice at the same time?!" Tyler exclaimed while burning several beasts and impaling others with precision strikes of icicles.

"When Bahamut gives you abilities, you don’t say no!" She said cheerfully. "Honestly, this is pretty cool. I’ve never been with a summoner before. Actually, I’ve never had a host or anyone tame me before. So I just sit here, lend you some of my power and you do all the work? I could get used to that."

Ash laughed. "Until he does something stupid like depletes his mana by healing his opponent. Thank the gods those days are gone. His mana pool is basically infinite now."

"Good to know. Well, nice job Tyler. You make a pretty good dragon." Alexandria snickered while watching Tyler do all the work.

The girls picked as many of the flowers as they could find and put them neatly in a piece of cloth they brought. Nyx teleported them back to Esper, who was thankful.

"These are the ones! Here, before you go, take this." He said while handing her a small dropper.

"What is this?" Nyx asked.

"It’s the essence of life. If anything is to happen to you, Tyler or one of the girls, pour this into their mouth and if you are in time, they will be brought back to life. Pretty cool, huh?" Esper smirked.

"How the heck?!"

"The Purple Iris. I had a few so I made you a dropper. With this haul, I’ll keep some for myself and make a fortune. This is why I never charge your family for anything. You are far too good to me."

"Good to know. Vial of life. Can’t go wrong with that... Does it work for a vampire or demon who is starved?" Nyx asked while tapping her chin with her finger.

"Any instance of death Nyxara. If you are quick enough, the person will be brought back to life. Use it well." Esper said before she teleported back.

"Oh, hey Tyler," she smiled.

"Hey beautiful. That was fun!" Tyler chuckled.

She explained the capped dropper and Kass immediately took out an extra pair of katanas and put the dropper in her void. Sophie showed her how to properly sheathe them on her back and they were off again.

They fought off another beast group and noticed a faction nearby. After discussing it at length, they decided it would be better to continue on their journey and not make any potential enemies. They passed the "Forgotten," Faction and made a few jokes about their name.

Eventually, they were out of the area with the fluorescent lightning and it became very hot, sticky and humid. They were in the depths of a jungle that didn’t look natural. Trees were upside down, leaves fell upward. None of it made any sense. They continued walking until Sophie got caught in a trap.

Fortunately, Nyxara was quick, teleported up and cut the rope and Tyler caught her. There were a bunch of Eidolons standing around them with spears.

"Woah, we’re just passing through," Tyler said calmly.

"These fucking assholes," Ash scoffed.

"What’s up Ash?"

"These guys are complete douchebags. They’re going to try and steal all your stuff. I suggest you get ahead of it and torch them now."

"Seriously, you don’t want to attack us, that would not be good for you..." Tyler tried warning them, but they came charging with their spears.

"Told you, fucking morons." Ash said, appearing from Tyler’s chest.

Ash spewed a giant fireball which sent all of them running. He "accidentally," killed a few.

"My bad..." Ash laughed. "Not sorry that I’m not sorry. They rob people blind, fuck them."

"So I’m guessing we shouldn’t set up camp here?" Tyler chuckled.

"No, in about 2 miles there’s a safe faction we could probably stay with. They’re known as the Rebels."

Tyler let the girls know and they continued onward and didn’t find many beasts. They finally arrived at a small faction. Tyler noticed Ash appeared in his Eidolon form and didn’t ask any questions.

"Shall we?" Ash asked with a smirk.ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
