Limited Time Marriage: Nice to Meet You Mr. Foster
Chapter 441 - 440: Quarrel
Chapter 441: Chapter 440: Quarrel
South Grant saw the news and finally understood what they meant by minimizing the damage.
Miles Grant took on all the blame for his son, completely clearing Henry Grant of any responsibility.
What a well-calculated move.
He took all the blame, and Henry Grant fully cooperated with the investigation; without solid evidence, Henry wouldn’t be sentenced.
However, netizens weren’t easily fooled, and many could see that Miles alone took the fall for two people’s crimes.
They left numerous comments under the news demanding that Henry Grant and Miles Grant be equally punished.
But the government’s handling of the case relied on evidence, and the evidence provided by Zoe Jarvis’s parents only showed that Stellaris had victimized her.
Now, since Miles Grant admitted to acting under Henry Grant’s name, the investigators couldn’t do anything to Henry Grant.
The other involved parties didn’t end up much better, as they all ended up arrested.
Meanwhile, Grant Group’s stock continued to plummet, causing an uproar among The Grant Family shareholders, as they were also part of the company board.
Watching their stocks fall so badly, they began to question The Grant Family’s competence.
They believed that Miles Grant should never have been made chairman; otherwise, Grant Group wouldn’t be in this predicament.
Shawn Grant had been waiting, waiting for the shareholders to cause a ruckus.
He thought that when the time came, he could step forward and rightfully take over Grant Group, as Miles Grant lacked the capacity to lead, and it should be him.
But before Shawn could make his move, he heard Jared Grant announce in a board meeting that Rhiannon Grant would be the next to take over Grant Group.
Jared Grant’s decision infuriated Shawn Grant tremendously.
When things were normal, and Miles Grant was holding him down, he begrudgingly accepted it because, by age and merit, Miles was more justified than Shawn.
But now that Miles had fallen into trouble, Jared didn’t even consider him, his son, and handed the management to a freshly graduated girl.
Although Rhiannon was his sister, Shawn wasn’t going to let kinship stand in the way of his interests.
At the board meeting, Shawn immediately caused a scene.
"I don’t agree with this arrangement. Rhiannon is just a young girl who only graduated this year. Can she manage the position of chairman of Grant Group? Can she handle it? Moreover, how many shares does she have? If she wants to reach that position, she should speak with her shares!"
Rhiannon looked at her third brother and recalled her mother, Joy Clayton’s, words.
The reason the company wasn’t handed over to Shawn was that he was not fit for great responsibilities.
Without any real abilities, he was under the control of South Grant, a person destined never to accomplish anything.
Rhiannon stood up at that moment, brandishing her share certificate at Shawn Grant and said:
"This represents 20% of the shares South held, now all transferred to me for management." Originally, Miles held more shares, but to purchase Zoe Jarvis’s last letter, South cheated 10% out of him, leaving only 20%.
Shawn Grant protested, "I have 25%, which is 5% more than you! Why can’t it be me!"
Standing in the middle of the conference room, Rhiannon smiled gracefully at Shawn and said:
"Father also handed his shares to me for management, third brother, do you still want to fight me for it?"
When Shawn heard that Jared had given his shares to Rhiannon, he widened his eyes at Jared, exclaiming in anger,
"I am the family’s son, why give them to her and not me?"
