Leveling Up by Executing Monsters
Chapter 273 - 270: This School Gate Is Pretty Hard to Find?
Chapter 273: Chapter 270: This School Gate Is Pretty Hard to Find?
"So, this thing is basically a personal Space Teleportation Gate? That’s incredible."
Lloyd was a little surprised after he finished reading the "user manual" in his head.
’This kind of personal portal is a rare, top-tier artifact even in web novels. A lot of Transmigrators don’t even have one. I can’t believe I got one so easily.’
’This is so gratifying. This powerful artifact is the best reward for all my hard work!’
Lloyd’s heart swelled with happiness, but just two seconds later, he suddenly realized a problem—
’What exact frequency am I supposed to "tap" this brooch with to open the Teleportation Gate to Mizkakotok University?’
He set the brooch down for a moment and reviewed the "user manual" that had just appeared in his mind.
’It only says it needs to be tapped at a specific frequency, but it doesn’t mention what that "specific frequency" actually is.’
Lloyd was puzzled. He picked up the invitation and read it carefully again.
Just then, a series of footsteps echoed from outside, and then the office door was thrown open by a large group of people.
"Lloyd? I just saw a huge pigeon fly into your office! Are you okay?"
"Yeah! That pigeon was huge! It looked terrifying!"
"I get all that, but why was the pigeon so huge?"
Lloyd stared at the Executor trainees in front of him, who were brandishing all sorts of weapons. He was stunned for a moment, then rendered speechless...
’I’m grateful for your concern, but from the looks on your faces, you don’t seem all that nervous or flustered, do you?’
’And what’s with the weapons you’re holding? Nets, slingshots, a dustpan, and even iron skewers?’
’It looks less like you’re heading into a fight and more like you’re going to a barbecue...’
After a round of internal complaints, Lloyd simply explained:
"It was a carrier pigeon from who-knows-where. It delivered a letter and flew off. No need to worry, it just broke the window."
The Executor trainees all started talking at once:
"Oh, really? It was just delivering a letter? No wonder it didn’t seem very aggressive."
"It got away? Tsk. Lucky for it..."
"Seriously, is no one else going to ask why that pigeon was so huge?"
"Let’s worry about what’s for lunch instead. Damn it, I even brought charcoal..."
Lloyd didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. ’With you lot,’ he thought, ’it’s hard to say who would’ve been eating whom.’
That pigeon was seriously huge and powerful. A group of three or five ordinary people probably couldn’t have handled it.
So, the question remained...
Why was this pigeon so huge?
After the commotion died down, the Executor trainees helped Lloyd clean up the broken glass on the floor. They found some newspapers to temporarily cover the window, then left, each with their own sense of regret and bewilderment.
By the time the commotion was over, it was time for lunch. Weiya came skipping over to find Lloyd, and during their meal, he told her about Mizkakotok University.
Weiya was also a little surprised.
"Huh? Chief Judge Tirtus is actually recommending you for advanced studies there?"
"Yeah, and it was all arranged in advance. I only achieved Transcendence this morning, and I got the admission notice at noon. But I’m pretty sure I only told you that I’d reached Tier Three... It makes the place feel so mysterious."
"That’s right. It’s known as the most prestigious academy for Extraordinary Beings. I’m truly happy that you were able to get in. Congratulations, Lloyd."
"Heh heh, I just wonder if there are any kind, sweet, and beautiful upperclasswomen there?"
"Hm? Lloyd, what was that?"
"OW, OW, OW! Don’t bite me... Urk... Why are you licking me now? Are you a cat?"
Lloyd continued to flirt and banter with Weiya while they chatted about the mysterious university.
Unfortunately, Weiya didn’t know much about the place either. She had only heard of its name and reputation. Apparently, anyone who successfully graduates from there is a hot commodity, highly sought after and valued by all the major powers, with a boundless future ahead of them.
This made it clear that the Chief Judge was genuinely looking out for him, and Lloyd was deeply touched.
......
After lunch, Weiya went back to work, leaving Lloyd to continue fiddling with the brooch.
Since he couldn’t find the so-called "specific frequency" in either the "user manual" or the invitation, he had no choice but to experiment on his own.
So, he got a pen and paper ready on his desk, then casually "tapped" the brooch a few times with his Spiritual Power to see what kind of gate it would open, and to where.
As he infused it with Spiritual Power, the brooch immediately emitted a unique Spiritual Energy. Then, a fissure split the Space before him, widening into a doorway.
Lloyd first jotted down the "tapping" frequency he had used, then sent out a wisp of inspiration, cautiously touching the gate with it.
’Hmm... seems normal. My inspiration and my uncanny Intuition aren’t raising any alarms.’
So, Lloyd pushed the door open and stuck his head in for a look.
"Huh? Yi?"
"WHOA, WHOA, WHOA! The door’s open! The door’s open!"
"What’s happening? Is someone behind the door? Editor-in-Chief, did you see something?"
No one could have expected that on the other side of the door was his sister, Evelor.
She was in a spacious, brightly-lit conference room, surrounded by several other editors. A large pile of manuscripts sat on the table; they were clearly in the middle of a review meeting.
