Leveling Endlessly with the Strongest System!

373 Fire-Clawed Laughing Hyenas

He had another way of determining their power level, but he hadn’t mastered it. Its accuracy rate was pathetic.

Delilah tensed up, hearing his words. But she then remembered how easily he had won against a pack of beasts not too long ago, and her brows that had creased straightened.

“Since they are only at that level, it should be an easy fight for you,” she said.

Roy smiled. It was as if he had heard a funny joke.

Delilah had seen this smile. At a glance, she could tell that he was up to no good.

“Get down.” As such words left his mouth, her worries were proven true. “You will be fighting them. All of them.”

His last sentence sounded like he was cursing her to death.

Delilah’s expression dimmed, and her heartbeat slowed. He was really up to no good!

“Me? Are you serious? I am only an intermediate-level weapon master. Soloing a level 15 monster is challenging enough for me, and you want me to fight an entire pack?” Delilah cursed him as crazy under her breath.

Was he looking to get her killed?

Roy wasn’t amused. With a straight face, he looked at her and said, “Didn’t you want to train? Take this chance and treat them as your sparring partner. And feel free to go all out. You don’t need to worry about your life with me around.”

“I will help if it’s needed,” he assured her.

“You better,” she said threateningly, forgetting in the heat of the moment that he was her lord.

Since there was a guarantee that her life would be kept, she got off its towering back and landed on the ground in one swift movement.

Delilah didn’t know what she was going to fight against as she had never fought a Fire-clawed Laughing Hyena in her life nor heard about it.

It was a beast local to the summer land, and she had never received a mission that would make her go there, so she was clueless.

Roy, on the other hand, had been mistaken for an encyclopedia.

He knew their names, so she assumed that he might also know what they were capable of.

“What kind of beasts are they?” she asked.

“To sum them up in one sentence: they are cowards. They won’t dare to fight if they are alone, but they will be restless and aggressive if they are with their packs. They typically use their teeth and claws to attack, but you need to look out for their tail too. They mainly use it to immobilize their enemies or catch them by surprise. Their main weapon is their claw. It can be ignited, adding range and fire damage to their attacks.”

In one breath, Roy explained their weaknesses and strength.

“So I will be safe if I avoid their bites and claws.”

Delilah’s assumption sounded painfully naive. It made him judge her past as an assassin.

“Not really. The thing that makes them most dreadful is their teamwork. You will lose if you fail to stop them from working together.” Roy knew how to destabilize them and render their teamwork useless, but he wasn’t planning on telling her. Otherwise, it would barely have any meaning. He was testing her to see her limits.

Delilah made a mental note to separate them as soon as possible.

After a minute, bestial roars came from their surroundings. Looking around, countless pairs of green eyes twinkled in the dark areas shadowed by the thick, towering trees.

Roy revealed a taunting smile, and beasts as long as one and a half meters came out from the dark and surrounded them.

It seemed like they were trapped.

The strongest Laughing Hyena growled, and the rest began to circle them. Its growl sounded more like the wail of a ghost of a man who had died unjustly. So to say, it was extremely unpleasant.

Slowly but steadily, they closed in on them from all four sides as Delilah pulled out the daggers strapped to her back.

As she was about to rush forward, Roy stopped her. “Wait a moment. I still have one last thing to give you.”

She blinked her eyes at him, “What is it?”

In reply, Roy placed his hand on her, causing her face to turn red. As a grown-ass woman, it was quite embarrassing to receive a head pat.

“What are you doing?” she glared at him.

He calmly replied, “Blessing you.”

『Ding! Your subordinate, Delilah, has received the Lord’s blessing』

The two types of arrays that gathered the soul of the fallen converted it into experience points and used it to nourish the host and transfer it to the lord were suddenly fused with her soul.

But she didn’t feel a thing.

Only Roy knew that now if she killed a being, they would both benefit.

Delilah slapped his hand away and said, “My lord, if you are done joking, please excuse me. There’s a battle to be fought.”

“I wasn’t-“

Before he could finish his sentence, she left him in the dust.

Whoosh!

Her eyes gleamed frostily as she rushed towards the nearest laughing hyenas. When there was a distance of three breaths between them, her figure disappeared. The leader of the pack sniffed the air but failed to catch her scent. The others also looked bewildered, unable to understand how she pulled that stunt. She had literally disappeared, leaving behind only her footsteps.

Since she was gone, Roy became the target of their aggression.

They stepped towards him.

Just then, a pitiful howl rang out.

A smile popped up on Roy’s face.

p

And the killer was the beautiful prey that had disappeared from their sight a moment ago!

Looking at the bloody head rolling on the mud, Delilah clicked her tongue in disappointment. “I only got one and, in return, revealed my trump card. It won’t be easy to fool them now that they know I can teleport.”
