315 Memoir of the Past: Evil God vs Fierce Swordsman!
“Really? Is it so miraculous?”
Vivia, who was breathing laboriously due to her injuries, looked at the scroll before blinking her eyes at Badulf in surprise.
While being wary of Chaos and holding one of its high priests captive, Badulf glanced over his shoulder at her, saying to her in a lighthearted manner, “Won’t you find out when you try it?”
“Daring to return my question with a question.” Vivia smiled. This reminded Badulf of all the bad times he had to go through because of her, and he flinched. “You sure have grown up.”
Vivia didn’t want to die, so she followed what he said.
Just a moment ago, she was finding it hard to move. However, maybe it was because of newfound hope, but she was able to move her hand.
After regaining mobility, the first thing she did was grab the scroll and open it up.
Then, she pressed it against her unhealable wound.
The next moment, she and the onlookers witnessed a miracle.
The bone-deep laceration on her chest turned to specks, vanishing from her body for good. These specks disappeared into the scroll, and a drawing of it appeared in it. When that happened, all by itself, the scroll closed.
“Amazing.”
“N-No way! My lord’s divine punishment was sealed by a stupid scroll? How can this be?”
Witnessing such a miracle, not only was Vivia shocked but also the onlooker. He was the high priest of Chaos, who, along with four priestesses and 18 high-level chaotic beings, had tried to intercept Badulf. They failed miserably as he overpowered them.
As per his knowledge, the crimson wind was an attack that reflected Chaos’s destructive divinity.
Anyone struck by it was bound to die as there was no cure for it.
No healing magic could heal a wound caused by the crimson wind, and there has never been any hope of saving a person inflicted by it.
‘I can heal myself!’ Vivia came to such a realization after she felt her blood vessels regenerate and saw new flesh growing on her chest. This all happened because of her marvelous and impressive self-regeneration. Because she was a deity, she could heal hundreds of times faster than humans. Of course, there was a catch. She needed the energy to support such miraculous functions of her body.
“What are you waiting for?” Badulf asked, “Just do it.”
Vivia raised her head to meet his eyes and said to him calmly, “I was about to.”
The wound making it impossible for her to heal herself has vanished. Thus, she tried to heal herself. This time, all the injuries she had sustained during her battle with Chaos closed up in one breath.
“This thing is too good. It counters Chaos’s killing technique. Where did you get it from?” Vivia asked the brat that used to admire her.
Vivia was extremely beautiful when she was young. She was like an ethereal fairy 20 or so years ago.
Badulf and Arnard, who were journeying the world at that time with the first emperor of the current empire, came to the village to undergo the ancestral trial.
That’s when they first met her.
The young emperor was an abandoned prince then.
Still, he had seen many beauties and knew that getting involved with one would bring him unnecessary trouble and cause a delay in him achieving his goal, which was suppressing the white-eyed wolves in the royal palace, making his father regret ever neglecting him and his mother, forcing him to abdicate and taking over the kingdom’s throne. Hence, he overlooked her.
The two brothers, however, had never seen anyone as beautiful as her, and thus, they were smitten with her at first sight.
It could be said that she was the first crush of both brothers.
They tried to court her through different means, but Badulf quickly became fearful of her as she was quite violent towards him.
To his dismay, she accepted his brother’s advances.
When they were young, she was their trainer as well as their guide in the ancestral land, and she would beat them each time they or she made a mistake. She was the unreasonable type of person that would punish others for the mistakes she made.
Badulf was traumatized by her. It was later revealed to him that she was Arnard’s Fated and that it had been kept a secret from him to not break his heart. Although he had grown up, he would still feel afraid of her sometimes.
“It’s a newly invented weapon against Chaos, created by the department of magic to counter its crimson winds. Before, we had no way to save those injured by it and lost many brothers.” Badulf said emotionally. As told before, injuries created by Chaos’s crimson wind can’t be healed. Any person with such an injury would bleed to death. He continued confidently, “But with this, we can. This is the first counter we have developed against it, and there will be more in the future.”
“I will be taking it for research.” Vivia was so impressed with this thing that she shamelessly pocketed it.
Chaos’s high priest: “…(╥_╥).”
The man who was getting strangled by Badulf was crying tears of blood.
He also had something to say.
‘Mothasucka! Am I a joke to you bastards?! Bitch, how can you hold a normal conversation with this maniac while he is strangling me to death?!!!’
Sadly, he couldn’t utter a single word as his neck was getting crushed by Badulf, and there was not a single person that could help him escape from this predicament.
Suddenly, they heard Chaos’s voice.
“How…?! How can you be here?!” The blobs of red meat started squirming under the moon.
Chaos was shocked to the core to see Badulf here, of all places. It had seven high priests, and it had sent one of them to block Badulf from intervening in this matter.
Each high priest of Chaos enjoys the privilege of having four priestesses and 18 chaotic beings as their own.
It’s comparable to an army capable of razing an average county to the ground.
Chaos sent so many powerhouses to deal with Badulf because it knew of his strength. It knew what he was capable of, but he still exceeded its wildest expectations.
“Did you seriously believe these pests and their tricks could keep me busy?” Badulf tightened his hold on the high priest, and he was brought near to death.
The name of this high priest of Chaos was Joshua.
“Let him go.” Chaos demanded.
Badulf scoffed, “Or else what?”
“You will regret it.”
The pieces of flesh hovering in the air gathered in one spot and fused into one, becoming a red humanoid with six horns and eight eyes. It had two large wings and claws instead of hands and feet, and it also had a reptilian tail.
It was shrouded in a thick layer of malevolence.
“I refuse.”
After those words left his mouth, Badulf’s ferociousness burst out, and his hold on Joshua’s neck tightened.
Crack!
This was the sound of Joshua getting cursed with the fate of getting his neck crushed by the Fierce Sword Count.
“May you rot in hell and be punished for your sin for eternity.”
Badulf let go of him, and his body dropped to the ground like a powerless branch.
He dropped from quite a height, and his powers were sealed, so he wasn’t able to shield himself. He was no more than a sickly old mage as he fell down the air, the speed of his descension increasing due to gravity and the laws of physics.
“No! I won’t let that happen.”
Chaos tried to save him.
It had used a lot of resources to nurture him, and it wasn’t to see him die without accomplishing a thing.
As its claw stretched towards Joshua, Badulf jumped in between them.
“Before worrying about others, you should worry about yourself.”
While saying this, Badulf launched his palm toward his claw.
Ting! Ting!
Not only did sparks fly, but fierce winds also blew as the man’s sword-like hand contended with the demon’s crimson claw before Chaos was forced back by a thousand feet.
“Sword-like body. That state can only be achieved after mastering Sword infusion and Sword Covering.” Chaos blurted out. “Your Sword Force has already level 4?!”
“It’s way higher than that,” Badulf smirked.
He looked down, and so did Vivia and Chaos, and they saw Joshua falling to his death.
When his body came in contact with the ground, all of his bones shattered, all of his organs ruptured, and his blood spilled all over the ground.
If Badulf had a system, he would be hearing quite a lot of notifications. Killing Joshua would have netted him tens of thousands of experience points and countless rewards.
“Now, it’s just us.”
Vivia smiled at Chaos while Badulf glared at it like a beast out of a cage staring down its tormentor.
“You said you were going to make me regret it. How are you going to do that?!”
Badulf shot towards it like an arrow set loose from a bow.
“I will show you the divide that exists between us.”
In the face of the renowned Fierce Sword Count, Chaos didn’t back down either.
It shot up into the crimson sky and became one with it.
Suddenly, in the sky above, a huge face appeared, and it began to grow out different body parts such as legs, torso, and arms as it sucked in the air, and in a millionth of a second, it grew so much that it covered everything within the radius of 100 meters.
Malevolent Realm Stage 2: Arrival of the Crimson Giant!
This was a technique it used to destroy kingdoms and deal with Realm Lords in the past.
“It’s not my strongest move.” When Badulf heard those words of Chaos, a thoughtful glint flashed in his eyes. He immediately concluded that the one he was fighting against wasn’t Chaos’s true body but just one of his avatars. After all, only Chaos’s true body could bear the burden of activating its strongest skill. Its avatars would just break down while trying to manifest it. “But it’s enough to crush ants like you. Now, despair!”
Badulf floated in the air and indifferently gazed at the colossus titan closing in on them. It was so big that its head pierced into the sky and so strong that with each step, it caused a tremor to run through the earth. Its words were like a roar that rang in his ears and made the eardrums of his people ache.
“Your strength is quite impressive. You would no doubt succeed in pulverizing everything if… it was someone else standing against you.” Badulf raised his hand, and it seemed as if all the swords in the world were gathering around him. “But against me, it’s still not enough!”
Chaos felt endangered as it saw one sword after another materializing out of thin air beside Badulf.
By the time it took another step toward them, tens of thousands of white swords formed in the sky as per Badulf’s wish and danced according to his intention.
Chaos stopped because it was too shocked by what it witnessed, and it looked at Badulf in bewilderment, “How are you doing this?”
“You aren’t the only one whose miniature world has different phases.”
Hearing his words, Chaos took a step back. “It can’t be.”
Ignoring it, Badulf made a hand sign and chanted.
“Miniature World Expansion: Absolute Sword Realm!”
As those words spread across the sky and reached the far horizon, everything in the world seemed to turn into swords.
The onlookers’ breath turned into swords.
The gaze of countless inhabitants of Baldwin County turned into swords.
The wind blowing past them turned into swords.
The trees far away, and the shards of rocks scattered all over the ground ravaged by Chaos turned into swords.
Everything existing in between and around them turned into weapons that Badulf had full control over.
“I have earned countless titles and made many achievements throughout my life, but this will be my first slaying an Evil God.” Badulf shouted, “Die!”
He waved his hand, and all the swords in the world charged toward it.
The swords in the sky fell and stabbed its head.
The swords on the ground rose and chopped its legs and feet.
The swords from the county and the wilderness barrelled through the air and stabbed its back and chest.
The swords were of different kinds, made of different things, such as the breath of the people or the leaves of a tree, but they were all brimming with killing intent and had the same intention.
Butcher Chaos like a pig!
“This will not be the last you see of me!” After roaring out in pain like lil’ bitch, Chaos shouted, “I will return to make you pay for the humiliation you have caused me today. In the near future, you will lose everything and everyone you cherish at my hands. Mark my words!”
“Yeah, yeah. Go to hell.”
When Badulf’s words fell, the endless amount of swords diced and sliced the crimson giants into tens of thousands of pieces. And it looked like the swords had no intention of stopping until they cut it into atoms.
“You’re wrong if you think you have won.”
Suddenly, Vivia and Badulf heard its voice. Their eyebrow raised. What does it mean by that?
“Your son is already beyond saving.”
Chaos laughed hysterically and a portal opened in the sky.
It was all dark behind it.
Mandibles stretched out of it and stabbed the pieces of its flesh before withdrawing.
Some of them attacked Vivia and Badulf.
They were far faster than what Vivia’s senses could keep up with.
Before she knew it, she was close to getting her face stabbed by one of them.
Badulf grabbed her and retreated behind the barrier.
The barrier held them off as he directed his swords to cut down as many of the retreating legs as they could.
The fight here came to an end.
Meanwhile, Arnard also bashed to death the sicko pervert that dared tease his wife.

Only Damien’s story is left. Memoirs of the past will end in 20-30 chapters! Thanks for supporting me for so long, and I am sorry for not being able to honor my words and releasing regularly and bonus chapters. It’s all because of real-life problems. Sigh.
