312 Memoir of the Past: Chaos, the mastermind (Part-2)
“No, I am ready to kill!”
Fearlessly, Vivia charged toward Chaos, appearing like a ray of blue and golden light taking flight as she covered the distance between them instantly.
“That’s a good way of using divinity.” Vivia was using it to empower her body to the point where she would be its match. “But with that, you have accelerated the rate at which your body is breaking down.” Divinity was a special power unique to beings like them. But they couldn’t use it recklessly. A strong medium was necessary to exhibit its prowess. Sadly, her body wasn’t strong enough to handle the amount of divinity she was using, and that was breaking it down. It was like poison to her, killing her certainly. “How long will you last? 1 minute? 30 seconds? Hahahaha!”
“You talk too much!”
They exchanged 370 moves in two breaths. Intense shockwaves burst out from the point of impact, tearing apart the fabric of reality. Their battle was taking place in the sky, but the land far down below was getting destroyed.
They backed off after both of their bodies were full of wounds.
“You are crazy.”
“I hear that quite often. And from the looks of it, you are not that sane either. You are the first who I saw that fight, just like me.”
Chaos hadn’t bothered dodging her attacks. It took her hits head-on. But at the same time, it whipped her left and right. Basically, it allowed itself to get injured to injure the enemy. Even its fighting style was chaotic. But it was reflected in Vivia’s, and that amazed it.
“Do you know? Slowly but steadily and without raising anyone’s suspicions, I exposed Damien to all the cruelty of this world.”
“I first secretly exposed that he was a hybrid with limitless potential to the rebels and that obtaining him would increase their chance of overthrowing the empire by 50%. With only that, I made them come after him. They sent 10% of their forces to get it. They killed the people he grew up with. They killed his nannies, maids, and his very first friend as they kidnapped him. They were doing a good job until they wiped his memories. If only they hadn’t done that, he would have been taken by despair long ago and accepted me without remorse. On top of that, they lost half of their forces and also Damien to a single Realm Lord.” Chaos clicked its long and slippery, mucous-dripping tongue in disappointment. “Those bastards are really incompetent. It’s not a surprise they lost their kingdoms to a single man.”
Vivia gritted her teeth, hearing its words. Her son wasn’t a thing. However, it was treating him like one, no,… not just him, but also her and her entire family. Heck, everyone was just a useful or useless tool for Chaos.
“Since we failed to mentally and physically break him down when he was four years old, it became harder to taint him. Children are easily influenced. The younger a soul is, the easier it is to brainwash it.”
Chaos sighed, remembering the amount of work it had to do because of that single misstep.
“I should have never trusted those rebel bastards. A waste of space, honestly. All of them.”
Chaos ranted as it fought with a deity.
It would be more appropriate to say that it was playing with her.
“After that failure, I tried, again and again, to send him down the spiral of misery. Forcing the kid of your friends to his side was just one of them. But it was the most effective one. He opened his heart to her, and her death hurt him the most. The raw negative emotions he generated that day when she died kept me full for a year.”
Hearing its words, Vivia felt so shocked that her eyes widened.
“You were behind that too?” She uttered in a voice full of hurt.
Chaos clearly knew what she was talking about. “Don’t you think it’s bewildering for a fully functional adult to suddenly torture his wife to death, that too in front of the daughter he loves, and then try to **** her? It was all me. I was pulling his hand. He was just a puppet, dancing on my order. I knew how kind you are. I have been observing your family for years. I knew you would take her in when she has nowhere to go. What was her name? Ah, right, Sisi. She was really a cute kid. The rest was just child’s play. It was really easy to make them become the best of friends and fall in love. Children are really easy to influence, you know. Sometimes I met them as a snake. Sometimes I met them as a butterfly. But each time, I came to curse them and made them become closer to each other. Kekekekeke!”
Chaos laughed again. This time more inhumanely.
Victory was so in its hands.
Chaos couldn’t help but feel happy, although it was the one that caused everyone misery.
It sent one group after another to make Damien’s life hell and make him experience the worst, emotionally scarring him for life. But they only poked holes in his mentality. He was very much sane even after experiencing tragedies that would give battle-hardened soldiers PTSD. However, Sisi’s death ripped his heart apart. He was never the same after that.
“I meticulously planned against him ever since I came to know about him. I set a path for him and pushed him deeper into it. And now he is only one push away from entering my embrace! Today, he will be pushed into the depth of the abyss. When he is lost in deep despair, I will become his savior. He will trust me with all his heart and will willingly embrace me and become my pawn, become a puppet of the very being who caused the death of his friends and family. I wonder how he will reach once I reveal it to him after corrupting him.”
Once Chaos corrupts someone and plants the seed of Chaos in their heart, they become a part of it. More specifically, their powers are unable to harm it. Moreover, after death, they become its nourishment. So it wouldn’t need to fear the power deep inside Damien after he was corrupted.
“I will avenge them. I will not let you harm him any longer.” Vivia’s rage intensified, and the amount of divinity she was using to empower herself quadrupled. Cracks appeared on her skin, and her hair turned white as she aged rapidly. “Even if that means giving up my life.”
Chaos was happy to see her getting angry. When she was calm, she wasn’t even worthy of being eaten by it. But now that she was seething with rage, she was like a scrumptious meal to Chaos.
“Ah~I really want to eat you.”
They clashed again. The sky thundered, and snakes of lightning arced across it. The land was marred with another set of scars. Vivia has become extremely powerful after using her divinity to empower her physical and magical powers. With just a few hits, she exploded its body.
“He will never become yours,” Vivia screamed as she went in for the kill. “My son will grow up to put an end to you.”
Suddenly, with Chaos as the focal point, a wave of chaotic energy bursts out. It crashed on her, and like a cannonball, she shot backward and crashed into a mountain, smashing through it before hitting the ground and getting plastered into it.
“Peh!” Vivia had made several huge holes in the massive mass of red. But by just sucking in cold air, Chaos closed all of them. It spat on empty air and retorted, “The likes of you lack the strength to interfere with my plans. I crafted his destiny. He is bound to become mine, and he will remain mine for all of eternity unless I don’t want him. Anyone who tries to oppose me will be killed off mercilessly!”
“I will never allow it!”
She was like a flash of light as she forced herself up from the ground and shot toward him.
“Then… you too can go to hell.”
…
Author note:- And that’s why folks, Chaos is the most hated in the novel, Battlefield of the Ancient God, written by Sunset_never_blooms. And honestly, what it did to Damien is just a part of what it did in the novel Roy did. That’s why he was so cruel to the Chaotic being.
