130 Gambling God Emergence (a)
In about an hour, Alfonso used eloquent words to sell many techniques, elixirs, and items to the guest in the auction house.
Then, Gaynor came up to him and whispered something into his ears.
Whatever he heard certainly affected him.
Roy saw Alfonso’s eyes widening to the size of a saucer.
Tables were quickly placed on the stage. Each of them had hundreds of stones. Some were round, some triangular. But in the end, there didn’t seem to be anything special about them.
“Dear guests, we’ll be holding a special event today. These stones that you see here were freshly excavated from a runic stone mine. As you may already know, such stones have a chance of having a runic stone in them. But we’ll only find out after cracking them open. These stones cost ten thousand gold coins each. You may not use external and internal means to detect what’s inside them, or you’ll be punished. The rocks must first be purchased before our staff will open them for you.
There are three Sensory Type Mages here. They’ll be sensing the movement of mana and Aura in our surroundings. Cheaters will be easily caught the second they use magic, ability, or runic items. They’ll be duly punished. And don’t doubt the authenticity of them being real. The Eastern Heavenly Duke has had them supplied to us! He hopes that we all can have some fun time gambling!! And he wishes the participants all the best!!!”
Immediately, dozens of people could be seen going up the stage and buying the stones for gold.
“Since the Eastern Heavenly duke wants us to enjoy this, I’ll naturally comply.”.
“I have a bit to spare. I don’t mind trying my hands at gambling.”
“I’ve been lucky recently. Maybe I will make a fortune out of it.”
Roy was interested in participating in this special event too.
He looked down, and immediately, his eyes widened in surprise as he was able to sense a pebble that was placed at the edge of the fourth table, giving off energy fluctuations.
He stood up and landed on the railing with a light jump on the railing, then he jumped again; this time, he plunged straight onto the stage and landed between people.
They gaped at him as they were shocked by his actions.
He dusted his clothes and went to pick up the pebble that caught his eyes before anyone else could.
He inspected it. It was held in his hand.
『Ding! Congratulation. You’ve found a 0.2-meter Rocky mine stone containing the Runic Stone of Complexity.』
This notification put a smile on his face.
‘It looks like energy fluctuations take place in mine stone with a runic stone. I can find which one is a special mine stone with my sixth sense. And then, I can confirm if they have a runic stone by using my Perception Skill. And it looks like none of the Sensory Type mages are aware of my cheating. Well, they can’t be blamed. Both of my skills create no change in the surrounding energy. They can make me a God at stone gambling.’ Roy felt incomparably happy.
Roy picked up two more mine stones with a runic stone inside.
To make it look like he was lucky, he intentionally picked up seven empty mine stones and wasted 70000 gold coins.
It was because he wanted to avoid suspicions that he did this.
After all, if all ten of the mine stones that he chose were revealed to have a runic stone, then even if there were no evidence, they would still accuse him of cheating.
But now, his winning rate wasn’t 10/10. It was 3/10.
Although it was still pretty impossible, the probability of it happening exists. It was 1%.
There was a chance of harming the runic stone while cracking open a mine stone, if it had any, and hence, it was advised not to do it yourself and instead let pros do it, and thankfully, the auction house housed such people.
He went and handed the ten mine stone to a staff member who had a stonecutter in his hand.
“Please open them for me.” Roy requested.
“Okay, please wait as I open them.” The servicer called Arturo spread them on the table and said, “It will take me ten minutes to crack them all up.”
The biggest stone given by Roy was picked up.
Arturo was about to crack it when an arrogant and bossy voice stopped him.
“Wait, let’s make a bet.” Donovan smiled at Roy evilly.
“Go on, I am hearing.” Roy knew where this was going. Thus, he urged him to speak his mind.
“Your luck versus mine. Whoever wins the most in this gamble will be the winner. The loser will have to slap their face while apologizing to the winner in public and then pledge that they would never enter this auction house again and leave it!” Donovan clarified. “How about it? Are you man enough to bet with me?!” He was out looking for revenge.
Roy would never participate in such a ridiculous bet unless his victory was certain. Furthermore, he didn’t need to prove himself to a lowly man whose status was far less than his.
But… He looked at the mine stone in his hand and then at his.
Not a single one of Donovan’s was special. But three of his were. That’s what he found out with a glance.
Anyway, this meant that the winner between the two was already decided.
It was him.
“Let’s do this!” Roy exclaimed.
“I will go first.” Donovan rudely pushed Roy’s ten stones away and let his drop on the table. “Servicer, crack these ten first!”
The servicer glanced at Roy as if asking for his permission.
When he nodded back, he began to crack the mine stone with the circular cutter. The fastly moving abrasive disc cut into the rock’s edge.
Cuts were created on it skillfully. Cracks could be seen spreading out of them.
Finally, Arturo put the circular saw away and gave the ten mine stone a light tap simultaneously.
“Pop!”
They shattered into shards.
In ten minutes, all of Donovan’s mine stones were opened.
“H-how is this possible?” Donovan’s jaw dropped because of the result.
