Chapter 2162: Chapter 2162: Mr. Zombie (21)
Sorry, they don’t seem too happy.
Almost scared to death, okay?
Are you human or ghost?
There are quite a few survivors here, roughly seventy or eighty people. They originally settled in the front, but were suddenly attacked by zombies. If you include those who have already become zombie meals, there were about one hundred and fifty people.
At this point in time, having a team this large isn’t very common.
"Who... who exactly are you?"
Why are there so many zombies!
And it seems like these zombies are quite obedient...
Chuzheng ignored the question and asked them, "Do you have anything valuable on you?"
"..."
What valuable things could they possibly have?
Food? Water?
Are these people robbing them?!
The survivors’ faces instantly turned pale.
Chuzheng ordered them to hand over their belongings, looking every bit like bandits. But surrounded so intimately by zombies, do they have a choice?
These people had very few items, with food being scarce; Chuzheng didn’t want those. She just picked out some random miscellaneous things.
"Take these." Chuzheng put down some goldfish items.
Everyone: "???"
No supplies or water?
Giving gold?
Crazy?
What use is gold right now? No, the things she’s taking aren’t useful either!
After the trade, Chuzheng immediately told them to leave: "You can go now."
"..."
"Go out from that side; you shouldn’t encounter zombies." She came from that way, and most zombies are following her. "Granted, unless you’re particularly unlucky."
Encountering rebellious zombies unwilling to follow the group.
"..."
-
Chuzheng drove them away, then casually packed the items into an empty box, handing it to Zhi Kai.
"Go check the front."
There was a group of little thugs automatically coming to her, building up her zombie kingdom, they had to go... and check.
Zhi Kai carried Zhao Yingjun, trotting along excitedly.
The zombie group was quite large and was in a standoff with Chuzheng’s side; the tense atmosphere dissipated as Chuzheng arrived.
They began to communicate —
Opponent’s zombies: "Huh huh huh huh!" This is a person! You’re actually siding with humans.
Chuzheng’s zombies: "Huh huh!" You don’t know anything, you’ll see soon enough.
Opponent’s zombies: "Huh huh huh!" You traitors!
Chuzheng’s zombies: "Huh huh huh huh!" Traitors welcome you to join.
Opponent’s zombies: "Huh huh huh huh!!"
Chuzheng’s zombies: "Huh huh huh huh huh huh huh!!"
Whatever followed, they probably didn’t understand themselves, it was just about who had the louder voice.
Annoyed by the noise, Chuzheng directly knocked down a few zombies in front.
If we can fight, we don’t need the chatter, okay?
What a ruckus!
"..."
The opponent’s zombies fell silent strangely.
These individuals were once humans; though transformed, their instincts to bully the weak and fear the strong remained.
Sure, if they met outside, zombies wouldn’t think too much, they’d just attack.
The thing is, with so many zombies around Chuzheng, they felt overwhelmed.
"Huh huh huh..."
The zombies started retreating, unexpectedly turning to flee, running wildly with dramatic flair.
Chuzheng: "..."
Can’t let cooked ducks fly away; Chuzheng ordered the zombies to stop them.
The survivors who had already gone far away faintly heard strange noises coming from behind.
-
Chuzheng met Jin Ling again, still in the rain.
This kind of rain appears regularly; initially, there were some warnings so precautions could be taken.
Later on, it would just start raining suddenly with no warning.
Along with the rain came countless zombies.
Jin Ling and a group sought shelter in a resort, finding a room as a refuge.
Many people got soaked, everyone knew the rain carried viruses, but the infection rate was not as high as it once was.
Yet, it still caused fear.
Entering the refuge, the group began to noisily argue.
"Everyone, stop arguing." Jin Ling gestured outside the window: "Zombies are coming."
Hearing zombies, everyone immediately fell silent and looked out the window. In the darkness, many zombies were running towards them.
"Turn off the flashlights!!" someone hissed.
Zombies have excellent vision at night!
People in the shelter hastily turned off flashlights, plunging the entire house into darkness.
Zombies had already reached the outside, perhaps disoriented by the disappearance of light, they wandered outside.
In the refuge, everyone held their breath, not daring to exhale too loudly.
Zombies lingered for a moment, then began to move away in one direction.
Squeak—
"Ah—"
A terrified scream pierced the Black Night, soaring to the sky; not even the sound of rain could mask it.
Everyone looked towards the source. A woman was sitting on the ground, and beside her, a door was creaking open, with a humanoid figure swaying eerily from the ceiling.
The retreating zombies uniformly turned back towards the refuge; in the next moment, they lunged at it.
Chuzheng was irritated by the zombie roars and gunfire, Bei Chi was already awake, sitting cross-legged beside her, looking at her like a big dog.
Fed up, she tossed and turned, eventually sitting up.
She turned to the other side, where Zhi Kai and several others were sneaking peeks from the window.
Chuzheng asked irritably, "What’s going on outside?"
"There’s a group across from us." Zhi Kai immediately replied, "Under zombie siege."
"Where did the zombies come from?"
"Not sure... Maybe they came with the rain." Definitely not Chuzheng’s zombies; she had given them "Three Good Zombies" red armbands, these zombies didn’t have them, probably wild.
Chuzheng walked to the window, glancing towards the sound source.
From their position, they had a clear view of the opposite side.
Xiao Gong considerately handed Chuzheng binoculars.
The first thing Chuzheng saw was Jin Ling and a man guarding a window, shooting at zombies below.
This dog is still alive...
Not seen for some time, learned to use such a dangerous weapon.
"That girl... looks familiar." Zhi Kai noticed Jin Ling too, muttering in confusion.
"Which one?"
"The one at the left window."
Zhao Yingjun: "I recall, she was the one at the water plant who incited people to drive us away, seemed to be called Jin... Jin something."
"Jin Ling." Xiao Gong added.
Zhi Kai: "Yes, that’s her."
Zhao Yingjun slightly puzzled: "She actually survived."
Back then, with so many zombies outside the water plant, how did she escape?
