Chapter 2143: Chapter 2143: Mr. Zombie (2)

Chuzheng meticulously pondered over the original host’s memories.

According to the development of the novel’s plot, Chuzheng guessed that Jin Ling was either reborn or knew something...

But the original host neither had Space nor any special abilities that would make people covet, which isn’t standard for a heroine.

The big boss expressed not understanding this plot direction.

For now, it’s more practical to figure out the zombies.

After the outbreak of the zombie virus, humans didn’t gain special abilities like superpowers.

Humans were still the pre-apocalypse humans.

But those who turned into zombies were no longer the humans they used to be.

Luckily, they only had numbers, and didn’t possess some hard-to-accept abilities.

Chuzheng glanced down at the densely packed horde of zombies, while smiling bullet-comments floated through her mind non-stop.

Isn’t a large number scary enough?!

When will you finish eating? Can I leave?!

We have no enmity with each other, let’s avoid conflict and be friendly, civilized successors of socialism, shall we?

[...You’re just lazy, aren’t you?]

"I am not, I didn’t, don’t talk nonsense!"

[Heh.]

During her boredom, Chuzheng pulled up the main storyline of King to take a look.

[Mainline: Please become the Zombie King. Progress 0%.]

Chuzheng: "??"

I’m a human, and you’re asking me to become the Zombie King?

You must be kidding me!

What kind of broken game is this!

It must be malfunctioning!

Chuzheng angrily closed the panel. When night fell, some of the zombies dispersed, but quite a few still remained inside.

Chuzheng jumped down from the supermarket shelf and slipped away from the side.

The entire city was devoid of light, immersed in darkness, silent as a grave.

A lone crescent moon hung in the sky, its hazy glow softly illuminating the world, imparting a sense of vagueness to everything.

The zombie virus was artificial, not a natural disaster, so there were no extraordinary weather changes.

Chuzheng thought she should find a place to sleep at this point.

[No, missy, that’s not what you want!] King’s Account suddenly appeared: [You should splurge, starting right now, from this very moment!]

Chuzheng: "..."

Are you sick?

What kind of madness is this in the middle of the night?

Who am I supposed to trade with now?

Zombies?

[Main task: Please spend 500 grams of gold within one hour.]

[Missy, you can do it!]

[Go for it!]

Chuzheng: "..."

Paper money is useless in this environment, but gold, that stuff, always has value.

King’s Account, after its pep talk, instantly vanished without a trace.

Chuzheng stood on the desolate street, looking at the void in bewilderment.

"Roar——"

Chuzheng’s gaze sharply turned towards the direction of the sound.

Zombies... could count as trading partners, right?

Chuzheng felt capable again!

When Chuzheng captured the zombie, it was still intent on biting the tasty little snack in front of it.

Unfortunately, this little snack only wanted to hit it with gold, not engage in any lovely nighttime stories with it.

Chuzheng tied the zombie securely to a pole, gagging it to prevent it from calling for backup.

After finishing this, Chuzheng folded her arms and circled the zombie.

This zombie doesn’t seem to have anything on it...

Surely, I can’t strip it?

How about capturing another one?

With only one hour, finding a group of zombies is easy, but capturing a single zombie isn’t.

So...

Chuzheng rolled up her sleeves, ready to strip.

The zombie growled low at Chuzheng, twisting its body, trying to pounce on her.

-

"Wow, what’s that person doing?"

Behind a car, a few people squatted, poking their heads out to watch, each with a peculiar expression.

"Not that hardcore, right? Even a zombie isn’t let off!"

"Is that a human?"

"If it’s not a human, look at her movement, none of it resembles a zombie..."

The group whispered, watching wide-eyed as the zombie there was indeed stripped of its clothes.

Fortunately, the crazy scene they imagined didn’t appear, that person soon left the zombie, shielded by the pole and out of sight.

"Hey, where’d she go?"

They looked on for a while and didn’t see anyone, leaving them baffled and unsure of what to do.

Finally, someone cautiously suggested, "Shall we go see?"

Did that person leave or just hide?

"Go..."

"Be careful!"

A few of them tiptoed over, closer to the zombie that was tied to the pole.

"No one’s here?"

"Didn’t see... Don’t push me!"

"I’m a bit scared."

"Why’re you pinching me if you’re scared! Pinch yourself, damn it! Are you nuts!"

The group cursed as they approached the zombie, the one closest spotted a golden object at the zombie’s feet.

The daring one reached straight for it, picking it up.

"Gold!" he immediately turned, calling to his companions, "Look, you guys! Look!"

"What’s the use of gold? Can it be eaten?" scoffed one in the back, rolling his eyes at the gold.

Right now, resources were the most pressing need; most people were either robbing or bartering, and gold as currency temporarily had no place to play.

"True that..." Disappointment showed on the one holding the gold, "What did that person do here just now then?"

They indeed saw her strip this zombie...

"What’s special about this zombie anyway?" Inquired someone, moving closer, nearly being sick at the sight of the zombie’s hideous appearance.

This da** really got me, a tough one indeed!

"Forget it, let’s just go. Feels like this place isn’t safe," someone suggested.

"Got the same feeling..."

They didn’t find anyone, and besides that piece of gold, they found nothing of value, so decided to retreat.

Clack—

The sneaky figures instantly froze, sharing looks of concern.

——What was that noise?

——Seems like I stepped on something?

The one signaled the others to look at his feet.

A faint red light glimmered, blinking incessantly, like a faulty connection.

The sound of ’zzzz’ in the air echoed, followed by a deafening noise splitting the black night.

-

"Collecting old TVs, fridges, washing machines, paper, newspapers, beer bottles... collecting scrap iron, cardboard, pop cans..."

Chuzheng nearly slipped, her ears filled with the eerie sound.

Scared me to death!!

Who’s causing a disturbance in the middle of the night!

No, disturbing zombies? Are they tired of living...

The tired-of-living crew soon made a dazzling entrance into Chuzheng’s sight.

From the direction she came earlier, a few people swiftly ran over.

Trailing behind, a bunch of zombies starved for a feast followed.

The sight was disturbing.

Chuzheng: "..."

"Bro, run!"

Someone spotted Chuzheng, and out of some unknown cause, shouted at her.

Of course, Chuzheng had to run; otherwise, she’d be zombie chow.

She hadn’t planned on sacrificing herself for the corpses.

From behind, sounds of collecting junk blended like a deadly symphony, intertwined with the chilling howls of zombies.

A group of zombies chased after the few people, rushing across the street.

The city suddenly buzzed with noise, slowly spreading towards the skies...

Moon ticket, Little Cuties~~
