Chapter 726: Hunting Gear (2)

Chapter 726: Chapter 314: Hunting Gear (2)

Outside the headquarters building complex, a large area stretches from grassland to mountain canyons, from desert to wetlands, even encompassing multiple ecosystems. It’s called a ranch, but it’s more like a nature reserve.

Li Younan even thought to himself with some sentiment, being a rancher in such a country feels better than being a tycoon in a big city.

After wandering around like this, Li Younan returned to the guest room to rest.

The next day, Li Younan arrived at the gathering spot on time, right on the open ground in front of the main house’s estate.

The organizers explained the rules to all participants: “Guys, yesterday we completed the verification of your licenses and signed the ecological protection agreement. Today, at this moment, our main task is to receive equipment and equip mandatory gear.”

“Firstly, the mandatory equipment you must configure includes a satellite phone, emergency rations, a cold-resistant sleeping bag, and a set of network live streaming equipment. These items are in the backpack in front of you, please open it in turn to check the equipment inside.”

Li Younan had long noticed the backpack placed in front of him.

Upon hearing the organizer’s instructions, he bent down to pick up the backpack and opened it. Most of the items inside were emergency rations, a satellite phone, and a livestream phone with several spare batteries, and as for the cold-resistant sleeping bag, to be honest, the quality is quite good.

Seeing everyone checking their backpacks, the organizers said, “Now if you find any problems with your equipment, please report it immediately.”

Li Younan looked around, and no one reported any issues.

The staff nodded in satisfaction and continued, “It’s worth mentioning that your satellite phone is a long-life model, capable of standby for a month, with an embedded GPS positioning chip to ensure the safety of each participant. Therefore, please make sure to manage your satellite phone well, as it may be the only thing you can rely on when you encounter danger.”

Then he picked up the live streaming phone and said, “This streaming phone has an external camera that’s like a button, which can be attached to your collar, so it won’t affect your actions.”

“This live streaming phone only has the function of streaming, not for other uses. We have restricted the data card usage…but you can log into several video platforms to stream.”

“We do not limit your streaming platforms, but you must report your streaming platforms to us. We will have dedicated staff monitoring the livestream in real-time.”

“The total battery capacity of the spare batteries is over 40,000 mAh, theoretically enough for your streaming needs. If it’s not enough, batteries can be replenished at each task point.”

Then the staff sternly said, “Of course, it’s not required to keep livestreaming 24/7. The purpose of streaming is to prevent cheating; your hunting results must be captured on the livestream to be validated.”

“Therefore, this equipment is crucial to you, please make sure to protect this device well.”

“Next, please follow Cowboy Mark to the equipment depot to receive your hunting gear,”

which is actually a shotgun, a pistol, and plenty of ammunition.

All participating hunters have the same model single-barrel shotgun, though there’s a selection for pistols.

Li Younan opted for a revolver, simply because it looked cool.

He was still wearing a cowboy hat.

With a revolver strapped to his waist, how different was he from a character in Red Dead Redemption?

Imagine, having just experienced a trip with three men and a dog in Los Santos, now he gets to live the Red Dead Redemption lifestyle.

It must be said, in Dezhou anything might be scarce, but ammunition certainly isn’t.

No limit was set on the amount of bullets each person could collect.

Nonetheless, given the equipment to be carried was quite substantial, and bullets weren’t light, each hunter chose ammunition judiciously.

To thoroughly indulge in a shotgun spree, Li Younan gathered over a hundred rounds in total for both his rifle and pistol. In short, he was well-equipped.

After organizing his equipment, he gathered once again in the square in front.

The staff began describing the core format of the entire competition: “Whether you are experienced hunters or first-time participants, the following rules are crucial for all of you, please listen carefully.”

“Once the competition officially starts, you will have to advance towards five task points, receiving corresponding tasks at each point. You will be informed about what tasks you need to accomplish.”

“The ultimate victory will be determined by the points you earn from completing tasks.”

“In this process, you will explore the wilderness, covering dozens of kilometers, with terrain spanning canyon streams, alpine meadows, Indian Hill relics, and cave terrains.”

“If you encounter issues you cannot resolve, or injuries affecting your movement, please use the satellite phone to call the emergency number for help. We will dispatch a helicopter rescue operation immediately.”

“Now, there is one last thing to mention.”

The staff paused, “You are prohibited from using any vehicles…”

But then his lips curled slightly, with an inscrutable smile, “Except for horses.”

“Of course, you can still choose to go on foot, but if needed, you can visit the stables to choose a temporary partner.”
