Chapter 885 - 885 - Mountain Magic Construct
[The construction process is complete.]
[Unique-grade Mountain Magic Construct Level 270 has been successfully built.]
Unique-grade?!
Broken blinked. Then blinked again.
He hadn’t dared to expect that… not really. But deep down, he’d hoped. And now—it was real.
He installed the golem core. The glow faded as the golem materialized before them, tall and solid, its turret-head rotating slightly as if scanning its new surroundings.
The structure stood one and a half times taller than a man, the legs planted with weighty stability. The central turret was compact, dense, and clearly designed for heavy force projection.
It looked like a sentinel. A defender. A predator. A warning.
Broken stepped forward, arms crossed as he examined every bolt and enchantment line carved into the frame.
“…Let’s give you a name,” he muttered, a slight grin forming.
“Moca.”
Simple. Easy to remember. There would be more after this, but this was the prototype. The original.
He opened the interface and checked its status.
[Name: Moca – Mountain Magic Construct]
[Grade: Unique]
[Tier: 3]
[Level: 270]
Tier 3 Golem.
Not bad. More than not bad. This was very good.
[Skills – 3]
[Arcane Volley (Active Skill):
Rapidly fires a stream of arcane bolts from its turret, dealing low-to-moderate magic damage per shot. Targets enemies within a frontal 90° cone.
Extra Effect: Slight knockback on smaller units with each hit.]
[Charged Ruin Blast (Active Skill):
Charges its core turret for 3 seconds before releasing a single massive arcane cannon shot. Deals heavy AoE damage in a wide radius.]
[Siege Anchor Mode (Defensive Mode Skill)
Plants all legs deep into the ground, increasing its turret rotation speed and attack range by 50%, but becomes immobile. Gains +20% resistance to ranged attacks.
Duration: Until toggled off
Bonus: Vision range also increases while anchored.]
Broken navigated into Moca’s skill panel, and there they were—three embedded skills. His eyes narrowed slightly as he read through them
Two offensive skills? And that last one—a reactive defense with range?
It was practically tailored for a sentinel role.
“Now that’s a war machine. You planning to build an army of these, King?” Ronan said from afar.
Jovina let out a low whistle, arms crossed. “I hate admitting this, but that design is solid. Not flashy, but damn efficient.”
“Eeee! Look at the turret, it rotates!” PussyCat said. “It’s like an angry little tower pet!”
Goldrich gave a low chuckle as he eyed the first turret golem scanning its surroundings. “Well… if we could mass-produce a hundred of these things? That’d be insane. A whole army of Mocas.”
Broken smirked slightly, arms folded. “Next time… maybe. When I’ve unlocked more control capacity over the class.”
He turned back to the Golem Creation Panel, fingers flicking through the interface. With a tap, he selected the design and converted it into a blueprint.
The process was surprisingly smooth. The system registered the structure and skill components from the original, created the schematic, and showed a clean replication path.
“Not bad,” he muttered.
He checked his materials inventory. Just enough—barely, but enough. One by one, the golems began to take shape, conjured from the blueprint as Broken funneled in the required resources. Each one shimmered as it solidified, standing upright and ready.
And soon, four golems stood like stone guardians in a row.
“…Alright,” he said, half-laughing, “Let’s just call them Moca, Moca2, Moca3, and Moca4.”
Jovina gave him a flat look. “…That is truly a genius naming convention, King.”
“Thanks for the sarcasm compliment, Jovina,” Broken replied with a shrug, a grin creeping on his lips.
“Maybe name the fifth one Mocha Latte, just to confuse the enemies,” Booba quipped from the side.
The new guardians were in place. The island was one step closer to being a fortress.
“Alright… perfect.” Broken exhaled deeply, arms stretched wide as he looked out across the floating island. “Four guardians. That’s good enough—for now.”
Sure, he had to burn through four Epic-grade monster cores to power these golems. But seeing them all shimmer with good quality? Worth every bit of it.
He whistled, and Polly swooped down from the sky. Without another word, he mounted her and they lifted off—searching for the right placement spots from above.
He picked one of the Moca units and placed it at the highest peak of the floating island—a natural lookout point. From up here, it would have the best view and serve as the island’s primary scout.
“Good. You’ll be the eyes.”
The other three he distributed carefully along the edges of the island, positioning them on three separate sides. The spacing wasn’t perfect—they couldn’t cover every angle—but it would do, for now.
Broken knew it would still require manual oversight. Someone would have to monitor the island, observe threats, and activate the appropriate golem when needed.
For now, he set the highest turret to auto-scan. It would act as the sentinel, sending alerts to the others. When that alert came, he—or someone on shift—could activate the rest.
Because yes, his limitations still applied: He needed Zepy for aerial scouting. He needed Aego for sea travel. And if he was using Beebot, the Crawling Golem for exploration…
That left him room to activate only one guardian at a time.
It also meant he had to deactivate Blackthorn from standby mode—temporarily, at least.
Still, the flexibility was there. He could rotate and switch golems based on need. That adaptability? That was his real strength.
One task was finally complete, and now he had another waiting in line. There was no time to rest—not yet. He gathered the members of the Vensalor Guild and led them into the depths of a cavern, where the Tower of Trials loomed in silence.
Since they already had access to the island, he was now able to extend that same privilege to the tower itself. For now, though, he limited entry to members of the Vensalor Guild alone—though he made a clear exception for SexyGrill and SexyBloom, of course.
Alora had previously attempted the trials, but the results had been underwhelming. It turned out that unless Broken himself participated in the challenge, no key access was granted, and no new exit gate appeared. That particular revelation had left a bitter taste—it meant those two crucial items were tied strictly to him, and him alone.
So, the path to obtaining them was far more limited than he’d hoped.
Still, he chose not to interfere with the guild’s schedule. They could decide for themselves how and when they wanted to approach the trials.
What mattered most was that the first step toward building his kingdom had finally been taken. That much, at least, was real.
Now, he just needed time—time for the pieces to fall into place, for the plan to unfold. It wouldn’t happen overnight, but it would happen.
With that chapter set in motion, it was time to return to Queen Nerisa’s kingdom and focus on the next priority—the Abyssal Naga Egg. No one knew exactly when it would hatch. It might be months, or even longer.
As long as the egg remained dormant, he couldn’t travel to the Dissidia Kingdom, even though the urge to visit Elaris and Caelum grew stronger by the day.
He exhaled slowly, a breath heavy with longing. It had already been eight months since they were born!
