Legend of Wyatt
Chapter 3014: Does He Think He’s Wyatt Barnes?
Under countless watching eyes, the young man’s defense was shattered by Wyatt Barnes’s massive sword, and in the next instant his entire body was blasted apart by that same sword.
"No—"
Right before he died, the young man only managed to leave behind a single shrill, tragic scream, filled with regret and unwillingness.
"Idiot!"
"Did he really think all of us here are just useless trash? We all fear this purple-clothed youth, and only he doesn’t?"
"Seeking death on his own! If we hadn’t already known how powerful this purple-clothed youth is, would we have tolerated his demand for two King Grade Immortal Artifacts?"
"Hmph! With this purple-clothed youth’s strength, don’t say two King Grade Immortal Artifacts—even if he asked for three King Grade Immortal Artifacts, I still wouldn’t dare interfere again."
...
All five people, including Jalen Bell, remembered the mocking look the young man had thrown at them before his death, and they all snorted with laughter, full of schadenfreude.
"Thank goodness, thank goodness..."
As for another young man, although he hadn’t witnessed Wyatt Barnes’s strength earlier, because of what the others had said, when Wyatt had just asked him whether he had any objections, he chose to remain silent.
Now, after witnessing Wyatt Barnes’s strength, he secretly wiped away a cold sweat, rejoicing that he had chosen silence at that moment.
"That guy... is probably about to be in deep trouble too."
Drawing in a sharp breath, the young man, still feeling lingering fear, glanced back at another middle-aged man stepping out from the great hall behind him, only to see that man’s face pale as paper, his entire body trembling violently, and the way he looked at Wyatt was as though he had seen a ghost.
Earlier, when Wyatt Barnes had said he wanted two King Grade Immortal Artifacts, this man was the first to stand out and mock him, one of the two who voiced objections to Wyatt asking for two King Grade Immortal Artifacts.
The other one was precisely the young man who had just been killed by Wyatt Barnes.
After killing the young man, Wyatt casually collected his Storage Ring and King Grade Immortal Artifact, and at the same time seized the points within his jade plaques.
In the next instant, his gaze fell on that middle-aged man who had been the first to jump out and shout.
"Now... it’s your turn."
Wyatt looked at the middle-aged man, his expression utterly calm—someone who didn’t know any better might have thought he was just making small talk with him.
"You... you..."
Seeing Wyatt look his way, the middle-aged man’s face grew even paler. He slowly opened his mouth, his voice trembling, "You can’t kill me. If you kill me, my family won’t let you go! My family is..."
"Once you’re dead, who will know that it was me who killed you?"
Wyatt cut him off with a cold laugh, his massive sword lifting slightly as Immortal Origin infused with earth-element churned and surged around it.
In addition, around that massive sword, streaks of golden light and threads of violet radiance twined about it, giving off a dreamlike, illusory feeling.
"This guy really is a moron! By now, not to mention us who entered the Immortal Sovereign Hall—even anyone who knows of the Immortal Sovereign Hall’s existence, their memories have probably already been frozen at the point in time before they learned about the Immortal Sovereign Hall, right?"
Jalen Bell sneered.
"Exactly! In the past, plenty of people entered the lower realm of South Heaven’s Ancient Realm, and quite a few of them entered the Immortal Sovereign Hall... Yet after they left, none of them took out any memories regarding the Immortal Sovereign Hall. Obviously, within the lower realm of South Heaven’s Ancient Realm, there are formations that erase part of one’s memories."
"Here in the Immortal Sovereign Hall, even if you kill someone in public, those who witness it with their own eyes still won’t be able to remember who killed whom after they leave South Heaven’s Ancient Realm."
"With death staring him in the face, it’s normal for him to forget that for a moment."
...
The other few people all looked at the middle-aged man with a trace of pity in their eyes. Even that monstrous, terrifying purple-clothed youth he dared to provoke—he was simply courting death!
After hearing Wyatt Barnes and Jalen Bell and the others speak one after another, the middle-aged man finally remembered this point. His face changed once more, and waves of despair rose in his eyes.
"Spare my life, and I’m willing to hand over my Storage Ring, to give you all of my wealth!"
With life and death on the line, the middle-aged man knelt in midair, kowtowing repeatedly toward Wyatt Barnes, trying to bargain for a way out.
After all, cultivation is not easy, and once you die, everything is gone.
At this moment, he completely threw his dignity aside.
"If I kill you, your belongings will be mine all the same."
A mocking smile tugged at the corner of Wyatt’s mouth.
The middle-aged man’s face changed yet again, then he hurriedly added, "If you don’t kill me, after we leave South Heaven’s Ancient Realm, I’ll definitely prepare some additional gifts to thank you."
However, what answered him this time was Wyatt Barnes’s figure surging forward with sword in hand, like the Grim Reaper swinging his scythe, about to reap both his life and his fortune.
Hearing the middle-aged man’s last words and then seeing Wyatt’s movement, Jalen Bell and the others all shook their heads in tacit agreement and cursed under their breath, "This idiot..."
Leaving aside the fact that once they leave South Heaven’s Ancient Realm, none of them will remember what happened inside the Immortal Sovereign Hall...
Even if they did remember, on what basis should Wyatt Barnes trust his promise?
Once they leave South Heaven’s Ancient Realm, the middle-aged man will have his family backing him. Trying to squeeze more benefits out of him then would be nearly impossible.
Unless Wyatt chose to completely fall out with the family behind that middle-aged man!
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
...
Wyatt Barnes shot out with sword in hand, his speed so great that the void trembled, the air erupting with a series of deafening sonic booms.
Even though he knew he was no match for Wyatt, seeing Wyatt charge at him, the middle-aged man still didn’t choose to sit and wait for death.
However, even though he didn’t choose to sit and wait for death, within merely two exchanges, he still died at Wyatt Barnes’s hands.
Bam!!
With a deafening boom, the middle-aged man’s corpse was blasted flying backward, and after shooting out a certain distance exploded into a sky full of blood mist, leaving behind only two King Grade Immortal Artifacts and a single Storage Ring.
Whoosh!
After collecting the spoils of battle, Wyatt Barnes stepped out into the air, heading toward those three pure defensive King Grade Immortal Artifacts that had been nurtured by Immortal Sovereign powerhouses.
Along the way, Jalen Bell and the others all consciously moved aside to open up a path, allowing Wyatt to approach those three King Grade Immortal Artifacts without having to detour.
"Wyatt Barnes, congratulations."
As Wyatt flew past him, Jalen Bell offered his congratulations, his eyes filled only with envy, with no trace of jealousy.
"Mm."
Wyatt tilted his head slightly, nodding toward Jalen Bell.
"Congratulations!"
"Congrats, brother!"
...
With Jalen Bell taking the lead, the remaining five also opened their mouths one after another to congratulate Wyatt.
They knew full well that at this point, all they could do was try their best to get on good terms with this purple-clad young man, and absolutely must not offend him, or the next one to die might very well be themselves.
Jalen Bell hadn’t expected that his casual congratulations to Wyatt would inadvertently give the others a chance to take the initiative in currying favor with Wyatt.
However, facing the others’ congratulations, Wyatt paid them no heed, and went straight up to the three King Grade Immortal Artifacts.
The three suits of pitch-black armor floated in the void, like Demon God armor, black light pulsing from their surfaces, with strands of faint violet lightning coiling around them.
Every time the lightning around the armor flickered, the void trembled slightly, ripples spreading out in faint circles.
Standing this close, Wyatt could clearly feel a chilling wind sweeping toward him, and that eerie wind was coming from the armor floating before him in the void.
"Pure defensive King Grade Immortal Artifacts nurtured by Immortal Sovereign powerhouses!"
With a flash in his eyes, Wyatt extended both hands and, as if reaching into a bag, seized two of the King Grade Immortal Artifacts.
Drip!
With a lift of his hand, Wyatt performed blood-recognition on one of the King Grade Immortal Artifacts, making it his, and used it to replace the other pure defensive King Grade Immortal Artifact, the Red Scale Robe, on his body.
"This defense... is indeed much stronger."
With a thought, a black armor phantom surfaced over Wyatt’s body, clearly the King Grade Immortal Artifact he had just recognized as his.
Though both were pure defensive King Grade Immortal Artifacts, whether or not they had been nourished by an Immortal Sovereign’s own Immortal Origin made a substantial difference in effect.
After putting away the other King Grade Immortal Artifact and the removed Red Scale Robe, Wyatt descended through the air unhurriedly, landing back on the ground in the blink of an eye.
Throughout the whole process, though the remaining few had red eyes watching Wyatt take away two King Grade Immortal Artifacts, they did not make a single move.
To be exact, they didn’t dare make a single move.
What a joke!
This purple-clad youth had comprehended two Profound Meanings of the Earth-attribute Law Rule; they were utterly no match for him.
If they went up to snatch anything, they’d only be asking for trouble.
"Luckily, he didn’t go too far and still left one for us..."
Jalen Bell and the others quickly shifted their gazes away from Wyatt, falling onto the last remaining King Grade Immortal Artifact in the void.
In an instant, a thick smell of gunpowder once again spread among them.
And just as Jalen Bell and the others were squaring off against one another, Wyatt, who had only just landed, raised his brows, feeling as if a gust of wind brushed past his ears.
"Hmm?"
The next moment, his eyes narrowed as he looked over, only to find that Bruno Fortin, who had still been standing not far away when he landed, had already vanished.
"Hmm?"
And as Wyatt noticed Bruno Fortin’s absence, Jalen Bell and the others, who had been locked in confrontation, also seemed to sense something; their faces changed one after another.
Whoosh!
The next instant, their gazes fell on the spot where the last King Grade Immortal Artifact was located, and they saw a gray figure appear there.
"Bruno Fortin!"
With just one glance, Jalen Bell recognized Bruno Fortin, but even after recognizing him, Jalen’s eyes were still brimming with battle intent, completely lacking the kind of retreat he’d shown in front of Wyatt.
After all, in his eyes, Bruno Fortin was merely a fellow peak Love Rowan Upper Immortal on the same level as himself.
"I’m taking this King Grade Immortal Artifact."
Bruno Fortin stood in midair beside the King Grade Immortal Artifact, not hurrying to collect it, instead sweeping a faint glance over Jalen Bell and the others.
"This kid... does he think he’s Wyatt Barnes?"
"Arrogant! With only this one King Grade Immortal Artifact left, how could we possibly just let him take it?"
"Hmph! Arrogance comes at a price!"
...
Wyatt’s overbearing display had left Jalen Bell and the others helpless, but now Bruno Fortin was acting the same way, instantly triggering the full eruption of the resentment they had been stifling because of Wyatt!
