Legend of Wyatt
Chapter 2972: Law Rule Immortal Talisman
The royal auction hosted by the Singles Kingdom’s royal family, though called a ’Royal Auction’, is not actually held inside the royal palace.
Wyatt Barnes wasn’t surprised by this, because the people attending the auction were bound to be a mixed crowd, all kinds of people. Naturally, the Singles Kingdom royal family couldn’t possibly allow them all into the palace.
The royal auction was being held at an auction venue ten thousand meters away from the Singles Kingdom royal palace, and this venue was also an industry owned by the Singles Kingdom royal family. Normally, it was rented out to various sects and families to hold auctions.
In the Singles Kingdom, the royal family held a royal auction at set intervals; this had already become a tradition of the Singles Kingdom.
And the threshold to enter the royal auction was usually the highest among all auctions in the Singles Kingdom. Those who couldn’t prove their identity, or whose status was ordinary, basically had to spend a large amount of Immortal Crystals just to have a chance to enter the auction venue.
Wyatt Barnes and his group, who had come as representatives of the Son of Heaven of the Autumn Holding Kingdom, were Guests of Honor of the Singles Kingdom royal family, and were naturally arranged into one of the best private rooms in the auction venue.
There was even a flag hanging outside the window of the private room facing the auction hall. On it, in bold, flowing script, were the three large characters for ’Autumn Holding Kingdom’.
It was very clear this was deliberately meant to tell the people outside the identity of those inside this private room.
"This flag is probably meant for the people from Eastbright Kingdom and Morning Kingdom to see."
Wyatt walked to the window of the private room and, with a glance, saw that not far away there were two private room windows set diagonally facing this side, and each of them also had a flag hanging outside.
On one of the flags were the three large characters for ’Eastbright Kingdom’, and on the other flag, the three large characters for ’Morning Kingdom’.
Meanwhile, the people entering the auction venue also noticed the flags hanging outside the three private room windows upstairs.
"People from Autumn Holding Kingdom, Eastbright Kingdom and Morning Kingdom have all come?"
"Even the flags have been hung out... looks like people from these three kingdoms have come for the same item!"
"Seems I’ve come to the right place for this royal auction of the Singles Kingdom!"
"Good thing I didn’t leave... I’d originally planned to stay just to join in the fun, but I didn’t expect to stumble into a treasure bidding."
"An item that can mobilize people from three kingdoms definitely won’t be something ordinary. Truly something to look forward to."
...
Similar comments were mostly coming from people of Ninth-grade and Eighth-grade factions who had gathered in the Capital City of the Singles Kingdom because of the emergence of that Emperor Grade Immortal Sword a few days earlier.
The reason these people remained in the Capital City of the Singles Kingdom even after that Emperor Grade Immortal Sword had found its new owner was precisely for today’s royal auction held by the Singles Kingdom royal family.
Originally, they had only planned to come and enjoy the spectacle.
They hadn’t expected that this time, the royal auction held by the Singles Kingdom royal family would actually feature the emergence of a treasure, and a treasure that could stir the hearts of people from all three kingdoms: Autumn Holding Kingdom, Eastbright Kingdom, and Morning Kingdom.
Moreover, judging from the flags hanging outside those three private room windows, the people from the three kingdoms inside were clearly all representatives dispatched by the Sons of Heaven of those kingdoms.
In other words, there would be some treasure appearing in this royal auction of the Singles Kingdom that even the Sons of Heaven of those three kingdoms coveted.
At once, the breathing of the crowd from Ninth-grade and Eighth-grade factions all grew rapid.
Especially the people from Eighth-grade factions, who were already rubbing their hands, ready to do their utmost to bid for that item...
As for the people from Ninth-grade factions, they had enough self-awareness, but were still very much looking forward to the excitement to come in this auction.
"You can’t possibly not know that the purpose of the people from the three kingdoms this time is the ’Gold Thread Worms’ needed to refine the MysticGolden Elixir, right?"
Just as the crowd from Ninth-grade and Eighth-grade factions were chattering away, some locals from the Capital City of the Singles Kingdom couldn’t help but speak up to remind them.
"MysticGolden Elixir? Gold Thread Worms?"
After being reminded by the locals of the Capital City of the Singles Kingdom, those people from Ninth-grade and Eighth-grade factions immediately lost much of their enthusiasm.
Gold Thread Worms, though rare, did not really count as some extraordinarily precious treasure.
Even if they obtained Gold Thread Worms and gathered the other medicinal ingredients needed to refine the MysticGolden Elixir, they might still not be able to find anyone who could successfully refine the MysticGolden Elixir.
Unless they could invite an Immortal King level Alchemy Immortal Master to make a move.
Yet, Immortal King level Alchemy Immortal Masters might not even exist in every Seventh-grade faction. How could ordinary people possibly invite such figures?
And if a Monarch Grade Alchemy Immortal Master were to attempt to refine the MysticGolden Elixir, the success rate would be less than one percent, since out of a hundred Monarch Grade Alchemy Immortal Masters, there might not even be a single one capable of successfully refining the MysticGolden Elixir.
As for Upper Immortal grade Alchemy Immortal Masters, even out of ten thousand, it might be impossible to find one who could successfully refine the MysticGolden Elixir.
So, for many people, even if they got their hands on Gold Thread Worms, they wouldn’t be of much use.
"Wyatt, are you really confident that, if you obtain two Gold Thread Worms, you’ll be able to successfully refine two MysticGolden Elixirs?"
Inside the private room, Ismael Yellow looked at Wyatt Barnes with a grave expression and pressed him again.
"Uncle Yellow, I’m not the type to brag."
Wyatt said.
And his words were clearly a response to Ismael Yellow: the confidence he’d shown earlier was not empty boasting, but genuine confidence!
"Good! Uncle Yellow believes you!"
Wyatt nodded.
Another short while passed, and the auction hall was completely packed; through the box-window one could see the surging sea of heads below.
Not long after, the royal auction hosted by the Singles Kingdom royal family officially began.
"Everyone, welcome to the royal auction hosted by our Singles Kingdom royal house!"
A gaunt, gray‑robed old man stepped onto the auction stage at the innermost part of the hall. His gaze swept the venue with cool indifference as he spoke, neither warm nor cold.
"That old man is no ordinary person."
As the old man mounted the stage, Wyatt Barnes faintly felt that this elder was not simple. "He... should be an Immortal King powerhouse!"
"Father, that old man doesn’t look ordinary at all."
At this moment, Emanuel Yellow also vaguely sensed that the elder on the stage was not simple, and moreover this elder was unlike the usual auction hosts who were fiery and enthusiastic.
He stood there, face calm, with a look that clearly said, ’Buy if you want, don’t if you don’t.’
"Of course he’s not simple... he’s someone at the Singles Kingdom Emperor’s side, a powerhouse at the ’One‑Origin Immortal King’ level."
Ismael Yellow said.
As the Emperor of the Singles Kingdom, it was only natural that he would not lack Immortal King powerhouses at his side, yet there definitely wouldn’t be many, because not every Immortal King was willing to risk his life for the ruler of an eighth‑grade Immortal Kingdom.
"A One‑Origin Immortal King?"
Emanuel Yellow sucked in a breath of cold air.
Wyatt, however, remained calm, because he had already faintly detected it earlier.
After all, he had once, by using a consumable Emperor Grade Immortal Artifact, temporarily possessed power on par with an Immortal King powerhouse; he was very sensitive to and familiar with the aura of Immortal King experts.
"For today’s auction, I hope each of you can get what you wish for and obtain the things you desire."
The gray‑robed old man stood atop the auction stage and continued speaking in that same indifferent tone: "Next will be the first item of our Singles Kingdom royal auction."
As his words fell, the gray‑robed old man raised his hand, and in his palm there appeared out of thin air a talisman wreathed in a faint violet glow.
"This is an Immortal Talisman painstakingly inscribed by an Immortal King powerhouse who has comprehended the Lightning Law Rule’s Arrow of Thunder Profundity. It’s called an ’Explosive Arrow Talisman’... Once this Explosive Arrow Talisman is crushed, it can unleash thousands of lightning arrows in an indiscriminate attack. Within a radius of ten meters, any existence below Immortal Lord will die without question!"
As he took out the Immortal Talisman, the old man introduced it, saying, "Within a radius of a hundred meters, unless it’s a Love Rowan Upper Immortal with particularly strong strength, ordinary Love Rowan Upper Immortals will have almost no chance of survival."
"Even average One‑Origin Immortal Lords or Two‑Aspect Immortal Lords, if they’re too close, can be injured by the Explosive Arrow Talisman!"
Speaking up to this point, the old man’s gaze swept across the auction hall. "The starting price for this Explosive Arrow Talisman is three thousand top‑grade Immortal Crystals."
If it were an ordinary auction host, this would be the time to wildly praise the Explosive Arrow Talisman’s value.
But after saying what needed to be said, the old man did not add another word.
"Three thousand top‑grade Immortal Crystals!"
As soon as the old man’s voice fell, someone immediately called out a bid—it was a richly dressed old man seated in the hall. "This Explosive Arrow Talisman is worth buying for my grandson to use for self‑defense."
Clearly, for any existence under Immortal Lord, this Explosive Arrow Talisman was without doubt a superb means of protection.
"There’s even a talisman like this?"
Inside the box, Wyatt’s face was full of shock. "You can actually inscribe such a powerful offensive Immortal Talisman through a Law Rule Profundity?"
Wyatt had known in the past that there were offensive Immortal Talismans among talismans.
But the offensive talismans he’d learned about before were all rather chicken‑rib‑like; in terms of power, they were far inferior to the Explosive Arrow Talisman that had just appeared before his eyes.
Once the Explosive Arrow Talisman was crushed, within ten meters, any existence below Immortal Lord would die!
What a terrifying level of power was that?
"This Explosive Arrow Talisman can only be considered a relatively low‑end talisman among Law Rule Immortal Talismans... As for powerful Law Rule Immortal Talismans, some can even kill Immortal Lords, and even Immortal Kings!"
Ismael Yellow spoke at just the right time.
"Law Rule Immortal Talismans?"
After learning that this kind of offensive talisman like the Explosive Arrow Talisman was called a Law Rule Immortal Talisman, Wyatt was utterly stunned by the latter half of Ismael Yellow’s statement. His face was frozen in shock. "Law Rule Immortal Talismans... there are even some that can kill Immortal Lords and Immortal Kings?"
"There are."
Ismael Yellow nodded. "Law Rule Immortal Talismans capable of killing Immortal Lords are indeed precious, but not that hard to obtain... As for those Law Rule Immortal Talismans that can kill Immortal Kings, those are not something you can get just because you want them."
"Because even for an Immortal Emperor powerhouse, to inscribe a single Law Rule Immortal Talisman capable of killing an ordinary Immortal King requires spending an extremely long time and an enormous amount of effort."
"As for Immortal Sovereign powerhouses, they’re basically impossible to inscribe talismans that can kill Immortal Kings... because even for the strongest Immortal Sovereign powerhouse, the amount of power that can be infused into a Law Rule Immortal Talisman is extremely limited."
Ismael Yellow’s explanation allowed Wyatt to gain an even deeper understanding of just how powerful ’Law Rule Immortal Talismans’ were.
"Immortal Emperor powerhouses... can actually inscribe Immortal Talismans capable of killing Immortal Kings?"
Wyatt secretly sucked in a breath of cold air, feeling a chill creep all over his body.
