Legend of the chosen ones: Beyond Destiny
Chapter 1905 - 979: I Love Working! (Part 2)
"I drove the Doomsday Special Train straight into the Ancient Temple..."
"...and then the fusion bomb was carried out by that kind-hearted person named Tang... and then I..."
In the intermittent narration, the CEO stared at him blankly, eyes shining, pressing buttons:
"Employee, good, impressive!"
"Right? Haha, it's not actually that impressive."
Ji Jue rubbed the CEO's fur and praised, "In my opinion, the CEO is the most impressive, managing such a big company and having so many subordinates."
He paused briefly, hesitating before remembering the CEO's previously disheveled appearance, and finally couldn't help but ask:
"Are there no other people here?"
"People, everyone, gone, far place, duty, sacrifice."
The CEO's ears drooped slightly, he lowered his head, pressed a button: "But, CEO, cheer up, work hard!"
For a moment, Ji Jue fell silent.
Uncertain whether he should inquire further.
But the CEO had already opened his mouth, grabbed his sleeve, tugged twice, jumping with excitement.
"Good employee, come!"
He said, "CEO, prepare, gift, for you!"
He pulled Ji Jue to the wall, stood him before a dark oil painting, then jumped up, paws tapping the frame.
And so, within the darkness of the oil painting, a spot of light and distant figures gradually emerged, reflecting back.
The lantern carrier was once again trekking forth, manifesting from the frame, looking down at the two: "Oh, CEO, is there work again? I'm quite busy here, you know."
The CEO barked, nudging Ji Jue beside him.
The lantern carrier hesitated: "The arrangement is done, but this is against the process, right?"
The CEO barked again.
As if insisting.
"...Alright, you're the CEO, you have the final say."
The elderly lantern carrier sighed, raised the lantern in hand, directed it towards Ji Jue:
"Come, lad, look here."
"Ah, what..."
Ji Jue looked towards the lantern in bewilderment, and then, suddenly, a white blinding light!
Blinded!
At that instant, the lantern carrier grinned, the lantern in his hand burst with intense light like a flashbang, directing unexpectedly at Ji Jue's eyes.
In the bewildering moment, he seemed to hear a loud sound.
The fierce light engulfed him like a tide.
Even closing his eyes, the omnipresent light kept drilling into his mind, incessantly, no matter how he struggled.
As if caught off guard, plunging into the depths of the sea, suffocation and pressure came unexpectedly, accompanying him like a shadow.
Something dazzling and bright emerged from the already scorching light!
Just like a door.
A door so abstract and comprehensive, yet seeming omnipresent!
The torrent of light instantly reversed, pulling him in, he helplessly struggled, looking back, watching as his body stood frozen before the oil painting, growing distant.
His soul and perception, lifted by the light, transcended the shackles of the mundane, ascending!
Illusions and disguises shattered, the scarred and cracked world rapidly shrank, not even allowing a clear view, while Ji Jue soared upwards, uncontrollably.
Until at the endless light's end, the source and inception of everything appeared before his eyes.
An unexpected audience.
After a slow journey, he finally walked into that majestic palace.
The rarest and most uncommon of all the Superior, the Gate of Eternity, revealed its true form before his eyes!
Superior Reign!
Originating from the beginning of time, dissipating at its end.
Born at the instant of heaven and earth's formation, residing in all things and phenomena, then welcoming its end after this world's complete extinction. Ubiquitous, yet nonexistent anywhere.
It was Ji Jue's all-too-familiar visage, the existence so common and familiar from past days that it was almost taken for granted.
Sun!
Forever bright, forever illuminating, forever witnessing all.
This is the source of all light, the manifestation of the Gate of Eternity in the realm, only this form can truly encapsulate the essence of the Superior.
Now, the sun shines upon him.
"..."
From afar, at the majestic light's end, it seemed a faint rhythm arrived, presenting destined gifts and rewards to the Sky Rail's audience.
Yet, that faint ripple, expanding as it dispersed, had turned into a terrifying wave that consumed everything when it reached Ji Jue's sight.
"Wait..."
Not even granting time to vocalize, Ji Jue was smashed into fragments by the immense wave formed from infinite time!
Countless fragments shot forth, scattered into past and future, chaotically falling into the present's history, witnessing innumerable changing scenes.
But Ji Jue didn't even have time to watch and feel, only sensing time flowing backward.
The wave and vast tide returned from where they had gone, pulling those countless fragments back together, forming again, returning to that brilliant sun, as if never having occurred.
Yet, something was changed.
Something remained in Ji Jue's soul!
A certain sudden insight surfaced from his heart, wiping away the fog and dust before his eyes, making everything so clear.
Like an instinct, granting him a 'sense of direction' never had before.
Thus, within the mighty rush of time, Ji Jue finally distinguished the direction of past and future, and even amidst infinite past and infinite future, that incredibly tiny yet conspicuous point.
