Chapter 1886 - 970: Level 1 Anomaly

  • Next Chapter

Ten minutes ago, Lihuahua Compassion Middle School.

The school bell rang, and the gate was bustling with people. But at the rear wall of the school, two backpacks were thrown into an alley, followed by two figures climbing over the wall.

The girl was nimble and quick, while the boy was panting, almost twisting his ankle upon landing and needed a hand to steady himself.

Seeing his third sister itching for a fight, the youngest Lu Xing sighed, hesitating: "Should we just go back, sis? If mom finds out we're going to fight, she'll be mad again."

"Just don't tell her." Lu Cai calmly lifted her backpack, walking ahead.

"What if the teacher calls our parents?"

Lu Cai waved her hand without a second thought: "Just call big brother! He'll definitely back us!"

"...I'm not so sure about that."

Lu Xing sighed. Although the eldest brother was like a father, recalling the third sister's thin-skinned ways, how much 'paternal love' would be left was really uncertain.

Moreover...

He asked faintly: "What if the second brother finds out?"

Lu Cai's steps halted.

Awkward hesitation.

Actually, even if the second brother knew, he would probably react the same as the eldest brother.

In her experience, regardless of the trouble they caused, if it didn't involve principles, the second brother would deal with it for them very smoothly.

However, although it would be the same outside, the aftermath at home would be completely different—big brother would let them off easily and teach them some fighting techniques, while the second brother would also go easy on them and then...get them some practice papers!

He would not only have the second sister supervise them to complete, but also have that Yi secretary correct them!

If their accuracy was below eighty percent, they had to redo them!

"Should we just forget about it, sis?"

Lu Xing shuddered, feeling dizzy with anxiety: "I still haven't finished the new edition of Twelfth Exam King...the more you owe, the more it piles up!"

"Just do it! It's only some questions! If worse comes to worst, I'll help you with them!"

After a brief hesitation, Lu Cai made up her mind: "I can't stand Shao Yucheng and those guys! So what if they're rich!

Don't you know, Xiaoqiu was bullied to the point of jumping off a building, with such a big scar on her face that she still doesn't dare to meet people..."

She turned around, looking at the youngest: "Do you remember how hideously he laughed when mom picked us up from school?"

The youngest remained silent.

Lu Cai posed a final question: "Just answer me, are you going or not? If you're scared, go home now—I'll go by myself anyhow, I'm not afraid of him!"

"What if they have too many people?" Lu Xing still hesitated: "I only brought one electric baton, and it's too late to go back and grab more now."

Instantly, Lu Cai chuckled, tapping her bulging backpack:

"I have another one here!"

"Then it's enough."

Lu Xing sighed in relief, solemnly reminding: "Keep an eye on me later, don't rush in like last time before I even had time to react, and don't run off without telling me."

"You're just too slow. I keep telling you to exercise more, but it's always either a cold or a stomachache with you."

"You're impressive, why don't you cover this time!"

"Alright."

So, the plan was set.

It's just a fight, even simpler than dealing with Empire.

The alleys behind the school were interconnected, with the meetup location being an old warehouse, abandoned for years, generally deserted, taken over by guys from the nearby sports school, turning it into a 'den of evil' secretly passed among students.

Shao Yucheng often mixed with those practically dropout-like guys, calling each other brothers, accustomed to dissolute behavior; if not for his family's wealth, he'd have been expelled long ago.

Expecting that fat slob to have an honest one-on-one is asking for too much; if you're going to fight, be prepared for the worst.

Unlike the delicate sister who couldn't even unscrew a bottle cap at home yet was eager to throw fists outside, the youngest had done enough assignments to have some brains.

He didn't walk directly through the main entrance; they found a hidden spot nearby, first stowing their backpacks to not hinder their escape later.

Grabbing their fighting gear, they then approached a nearby flat beside the warehouse, checked the wall height, exchanged a glance.

Lu Cai first lifted Lu Xing onto the wall, then he pulled her up, maneuvering over the rooftops and walls to approach indirectly.

After much effort, they secured a spot, peeking towards the warehouse's direction.

"There's no one outside?"

Lu Cai lay on the roof alongside him, peeking ahead, frowning: "I knew these bastards were up to something!"

"Shh, don't speak."

Lu Xing whispered, narrowing his eyes towards the inside of the warehouse.

Lu Cai followed his gaze, but the high ventilation windows hadn't been cleaned in years, covered with Dust, it was pitch black inside, nothing visible.

But the hand holding Lu Cai's wrist, suddenly tightened.

As if in fear.

His face lost all color.

Unlike Lu Cai's confusion, when he instinctively opened Perception, he found that there was not a single 'person' to be 'seen'...

Because in the foggy warehouse, there wasn't a single complete live person left!

Melted!

Everyone had melted!

The dozen or so individuals originally inside the sealed warehouse had now all turned into a heap of slime, like molten wax, still wailing and screaming, yet unable to make a sound,

A writhing shadow prowled inside the warehouse, seemingly doing something, holding a statue and continuously absorbing the fused Blood and flesh...
