Legend of the chosen ones: Beyond Destiny
Chapter 1754 - 902: Monsters_2
"What the hell is going on?"
Amidst the ruins of the Seven Cities Trade Association building, Ling Zong spat on the ground, his expression dark and cursing angrily.
Despite searching till now, they hadn't found even a hair of that dead dog Ling Shuo. The mist was so thick that even their own vision and perception were hindered, and it kept worsening.
So dense it was that everything visible was turning into a mere expanse of ghastly white, where just ten steps ahead, only vague shadows were discernible.
Some people even started coughing and found it hard to breathe.
"What is this?!"
After receiving another report from his subordinates, Ling Zong flew into a rage, pointing at Ruins nearby and scolded angrily: "I told you to create a mist for convenience, but what on earth did you make?! It's so thick we can barely see! Can't you make it clearer?!"
"I... I... I'm not..."
Sweating profusely, Ruins stiffened, turning back, glancing over, his expression twitching once, and again, nearly breaking into tears: "I started dispersing it already, but... but... it's not working."
The mist he had created and spread had somehow spiraled out of control!
On the contrary, it enveloped them, intensifying like a shroud.
Ling Zong was momentarily stunned, then looked up sharply at the mist in front of him. Within the pale mist, silvery specks like dust glittered and danced silently.
In that instant, the radio, spiritual signals, phones, even thought senses—all channels lost connection, utterly cut off!
BOOM!!!
A heart-stopping loud noise erupted once again, roaring.
It was as if a giant foot descended from the heavens, trampling down, stirring a frenzy within the mist, pushing it out in all directions.
Immediately following, another crash!
The originally dim daylight grew darker, as a terrifying, sky-covering silhouette slowly enlarged above everyone's heads, drawing nearer.
It was a metal face gradually emerging from the heavens, reaching out towards them.
It was as if a giant was crawling through the dust, searching for parts and screws, with strange compound eyes slowly contracting, analyzing their faces, drawing conclusions.
Found them!
Thus, the bizarre creature grinned silently.
Raised its hand...
BOOM!!!
.
.
It was as if suddenly, the world was collapsing.
For the residents of Luo Island, everything that happened without warning was undoubtedly a disaster and nightmare.
When the alarm rang, those who couldn't make it to the shelter could only huddle fearfully in corners, listening to the endless rumble of collapsing distances.
Amidst gunfire, flames spread, and terrified screams echoed continuously.
BOOM!
The shattered Peace Cat collapsed skyward; within the broken broadcasting, the last guidance still repeated, urging nearby residents to quickly head to shelter and avoid staying in public areas...
"Daddy, daddy..."
A snot-nosed girl cried, as Kavochi picked her up from the ground, placing her in her mother's arms, and soon, the mother's sobbing hand covered her mouth.
"Hide, don't get spotted, I..."
Kavochi paused mid-sentence, uncertain of the expression to show, forcing a smile.
He said: "I'll be right back."
The floor's door was closed, covered again by a carpet.
Kavochi listened keenly to the approaching gunfire, instinctively picking up a weapon, intending to lure away those setting fires and shooting indiscriminately, but before he could act, the wall shattered with a deafening crash.
"Huh?"
In the low echo, an attacker carrying a heavy iron rod approached, glancing mockingly at his terrified appearance, chuckling silently: "There's another one here?"
BANG!
Kavochi pulled the trigger without a second thought.
The seemingly heavy fat man didn't even dodge; the bullet hit his face, deflected off the resilient skin, and quickly fell to the ground.
With a light click, it was like an echo from Hell.
Kavochi staggered back a step, stepping on the carpet, suddenly pausing, retreating no further.
In fear and chaos, he instinctively pulled the trigger, emptying the magazine.
Until the gun clicked, echoing hollowly, the intruder before him remained unscathed.
The smile turned more and more mocking.
Even leisurely waiting for him to change the magazine in front of him, Kavochi's hands shook so much they could barely hold the weapon, and in the flurry, the handgun fell to the ground, along with the bullets, rolling...
"Women's toys, how boring."
The invading fat man grinned, the smile growing more mocking, raising the several meters long iron rod: "Let me teach you what real men should use...
You guys go first, I'll play with him a bit longer!"
The companion behind him did not respond.
Just stepped closer, step by step.
He hadn't even had the chance to turn back when a steel hand reached out, pressing against his forehead, seven claw-like fingers slowly contracted, tearing flesh, wedging into the skull.
Such terrifying power left the fat man rigid on the spot, reflexively wanting to turn around but unable to move, hearing only a dull annihilating crash.
Immediately following, the menacing steel claw pierced through his back, emerging from his chest, clutching his spine, tightening slowly, crushing it to bits.
Blood spurted.
Then, that hand finally lifted him up, flipping him around, making him face it... face this blood-stained, fanged monster!
