Isis's report surfaced in his consciousness, and the moment it did, Ji Jue was already chuckling. "Then what are we waiting for?"

The Invisible Hand once again gripped the Sword of Damocles, swinging it toward the chaotic Shiye before him.

Cut!

BOOM!!!!

The storm-like slaughter began.

As if the whole scene had been sped up several dozen times, in the blink of an eye the Sword of Damocles, forged from infinite light, heat, and spiritual matter, was already showering sparks; all that could be heard was an unending roar.

Destruction poured down like a torrential rain, howling in.

The colossal sword of blinding radiance kept shifting size and length, stabbing, cleaving, piercing again and again, as if determined to hack the entire Shiye into slop.

Yet apart from the Chosen Ones whose bodies were pulverized to dust, it caused almost no collateral damage; at most, another humanoid scorch mark appeared on the ground.

No matter how well they hid, it was useless.

The swarms of drones originally purchased from the Coast were now all airborne, screaming through the ruins in packs, locking onto any figure holding a weapon, feeding them into the database, instantly distinguishing friend from foe; and right after that, the Sword of Damocles came cleaving down from the heavens.

Where it passed, all that remained were shrill, ragged screams and handfuls of dust billowing up toward the sky.

Down in the sewers, a hidden operative whose movements had stalled for a split second didn't even have time to react before he felt heat above his head and a sudden chill through half his body—under the White Deer's instinct and the blessing of Cicada's Senses, he only managed to twist his torso on reflex, and then the right half of his body was swallowed by the blazing light that speared down.

A heartbeat later, he could no longer feel that half of his body at all.

Instantly vaporized.

Amid his screams, his figure flickered violently and vanished, fleeing far away in an instant—only to explode again the very next moment.

By the time he crawled out of the safehouse, only half his body remained… and even that half was still wreathed in purple-black lightning, endlessly scorching and tearing at his soul, drowning him in agony.

It wasn't just the lurking operatives who were horrified; even Ji Jue was momentarily taken aback.

"Didn't die? Tough bastard…"

In a single instant of devastating injury, he'd shed his body like a lizard dropping its tail, dumping all the damage into the discarded flesh and escaping—this was a rebirth form Ji Jue had never seen before.

"From Hidden Mist Reef?"

Ji Jue lifted a brow.

So it's you leftover trash again? I've been looking for an excuse to use you as a blood sacrifice.

But isn't the number of enemies on Shiye a bit excessive?

All this meticulous setup, just to go after William?

Or perhaps…

He chuckled. "You're fishing, aren't you?"

Sea Abyss Corner—no, that old dog from Gray Port—after so many years as a White Deer, his schemes just get more and more layered… He'd probably planned from the moment they picked William as the target that this move on Shiye would drag the Seven Cities into the mess, right?

Even if they couldn't hook Ji Jue himself, snagging Ji Jue's reinforcements would still let them screw him over hard. As long as they could kill that crippled little brat he kept at his side, Ji Jue would be forced into a frenzy.

Too bad Ji Jue didn't show up. Neither did his reinforcements.

All they got was the Sword of Damocles crashing down from the sky!

.

"What are you standing around for? Fall back! Everyone, move!" Labanca's furious roar blasted through the Spiritual Communication, urging nonstop, "All units, withdraw in waves! Now!"

"But…" a hesitant voice came through.

"But what?"

Labanca was livid. "Haven't you noticed that old bastard Assassin Ding, wherever he's squatting, still hasn't shown his face?! What fishing? The Seven Cities bastards haven't shown up at all, fish my ass!"

If they didn't run now, forget fishing; they were all going to die here!

In the chaos, someone cut in: "What about Satria's side?"

No one answered.

But that silence said everything.

At a time like this, to hell with him.

They had swarmed in like a cloud of flies, loud and vicious; now they scattered just as fast, bolting in every direction.

Satria hadn't even had time to process it.

He watched, eyes wide, as his last subordinates were obliterated one by one under the Sword of Damocles. The Spiritual Communication channel had fallen utterly silent; there was no response from anyone.

And in that dead silence, when the blazing sword in the sky finally pivoted and fixed squarely on his face, it was already too late.

"Wait, I… I…"

Satria's expression twitched; he dropped to his knees without hesitation, shouting at the top of his lungs, "I can—"

BOOM!!!

The blade came down with a deafening crash, without the slightest pause.

Wait, my ass.

You dare fish for me? Die.

His wails tore out from within the searing light as his rebirth form burst open like boiling sludge; torrents of viscous shadow gushed out like a tide, pooling and spreading everywhere.

He tried to merge with the shadows and scatter in all directions, but he couldn't break free of the shackles.

The descending blade condensed into solid form, nailing him to the ground; no matter how he thrashed and screamed, he couldn't escape.

The thick shadows burned like grease as the thunderfire from Zhanlu ignited them, blazing high and spewing out heaps of carbonized remains.

Each split-off body writhed in despair in the flames, convulsing, clawing hopelessly outward, until they were burned completely to char.
