"Three more, huh."

He started laughing.

Three more of such prey.

.

.

Ten minutes later, the entire club returned to dead silence.

Only the faint sound of sobbing echoed, spreading. Ling Zan futilely crawled on the ground, little by little, dragging his bisected body outward.

In the spreading pool of blood, a piercing crack appeared in the throat of the body turned golden iron, falling backward with face up.

Feng Mo panted heavily, struggled desperately, wailed, but couldn't break free from the arm strangling his throat.

Behind him, the silent boy stayed speechless, only holding him down relentlessly, then, the sword blade swept across, severing his head.

With a thud, blood sprayed.

The boy, now completely dyed red with blood, lifted his head and looked at Ling Zan, who had crawled to the door. Ling Zan convulsed in terror, wailing, "Spare me, spare me... I can negotiate too, I... I can work for Mr. Ji too, I... I..."

The boy still said nothing, just propped himself up with the sword blade, leaning against the wall, step by step walking toward him, sharp shadows covered that face of despair, continuing forward with indifference.

Not even stopping for a moment, without looking back.

Ling Zan was stunned for a moment, bewildered, shocked, and a sliver of ecstasy and excitement surfaced on his face, opening his mouth, just about to say something, but the buzzing in his ears heard the final sound.

Amidst his gradually weakening heartbeat, increasingly loud, unstoppable resounding clang!

Boom!

The explosion of blood froze Ling Zan's smile on his face.

Death.

Clang—

On the first floor, the elevator doors reopened once more.

The staggering boy treaded on blood, step by step walking out, no longer with the elegance upon entering, so utterly forlorn.

The longsword dropped, dragging at his feet, carving a broken trail across the stone plate. Soon, the spreading trail was dyed crimson in the spread of blood.

The automatic doors opened once more.

The night outside was deep, the wind howled, the rumbling sound finally reached his ears, along with the chill of moisture and bean-sized raindrops falling down.

Washing away the blood, rendering that face even paler, scars obtrusive.

An Ran forcefully lifted his head, looking towards the sky, gradually realizing in a daze.

"It's raining, huh."

"Yeah, it's going to rain for a long time."

Someone put up a large black umbrella, shielding him from the falling rain.

"Brother Ji Jue?"

An Ran turned his head with difficulty, seeing that familiar face, smiling.

Under the light behind the door, his shadow was stretched extremely long, as if extending into the pitch-black night, endlessly expanding, encompassing the entire gloomy world within.

"Just happened to pass by."

The long-waited person said, "The weather forecast says it will rain for a long time, remembered you didn't bring an umbrella, so I came to check."

"Yeah, thanks, Brother Ji Jue."

"Are you hurt?"

"Just a little."

Then, Ji Jue nodded, "Can you still walk?"

"I can."

"Then let's go."

Ji Jue nodded, walking ahead: "Tong Hua called me this afternoon, told me to look after you a bit, not to stay up late playing games, at your age, your body is still growing, you need to wake up early and go to bed early. Brushing your teeth should be done carefully, don't always skimp & what do you want to eat tomorrow morning?"

"Anything is fine."

An Ran followed behind him, pacing carefully.

The boy lifted his head, looked at the person beside him, and smiled softly: "Thank you, Brother Ji Jue."

"Didn't you just say thanks? It's no big deal."

Ji Jue asked, "Are you cold?"

"A little bit."

"There's a coat in the back seat, remember to put it on."

"Okay."

...

And so, they passed through the figures on either side who bowed respectfully, the vehicle disappeared into the darkness at the end of the rain.
