Chapter 887 Acquisition (27)
One of the glowing eyes flashed as it disappeared and reappeared directly in front of the open door. The great sword it held was raised above its head, ready to strike the person about to enter the room.
Armak and Breira’s green eyes glowed with a slight silver tint as they stepped in front of Kyran while summoning their Divine Armaments.
Earlier when they fought Kyran, they were not using their Divine Armaments and instead used a regular weapon. Thus, this would be the first time they would use them.
A twelve-foot-tall, and five-foot wide, golded rectangular box, similar to a coffin appeared in front of Armak, while diamond rings enveloped Breira’s forearms.
The owner of those glowing eyes cleaved its great sword downward, but Armak blocked it using his coffin-like Divine Armament.
CLANG!
A shockwave followed right after the two weapons collided.
Meanwhile, Breira did not say idle and followed up with an attack right after Armak blocked the great sword.
All diamond rings on his forearms spun at a crazy pace before he willed two to slip down his knuckles. The shape of the two rings’ changed to fit his knuckles, before he struck with his fists.
BOOM! BOOM!
Breira sent out two powerful fists at the enemy’s torso, forcing the latter to take a few steps backward.
Before the enemy could regain its bearing, Armak raised his right hand, willing his Divine Armament to hover right above the former’s head before bringing it down with such ferocity.
BAM!
The force at which the golden coffin-like Divine Armament crushed the enemy in one hit.
BOOM!
Another shockwave followed as Armak’s attack hit, destroying and turning the floor into a small pit from the impact.
Kyran, standing behind them could not help but raise his brows in surprise.
This would be the first time Armak and Breira were in action and Kyran was satisfied.
To be honest, he was a little disappointed in their performance earlier. He only attributed their lack of ability to their focus being divided between concealing the King’s puppet state, and unable to unleash their real strength because they could not use their Divine Armaments.
Now that he saw their Divine Armaments, Kyran was convinced that each Aide of the King was special.
“Hm?” Armak’s eyes narrowed as he sensed movement coming from beneath his Divine Armament. He immediately spun in retreat while shouting a warning at Breira, “Back!”
Breira squinted his eyes as he jumped back.
BOOM!
The small pit at which the enemy was buried exploded, sending specks of dust and rubbles everywhere.
Armak’s eyes glowed, and his coffin-like Divine Armament increased in size as he placed it in front to protect them from the clouds of dust and debris.
From behind the cloud of dust, the enemy’s two glowing golden eyes flashed as it dashed toward the coffin-like Divine Armament.
lightsΝοvel.cοm Breira spun while he willed the rings on his knuckles to expand slightly. He then knelt on the ground as he raised his palms forward.
Armak raised his Divine Armament out of the way, seconds before the enemy collided with it. After which, the rings on Breria’s knuckles flew out and intercepted the approaching enemy.
ZZZIIIING!
The diamond rings spun crazily as they flew toward the enemy.
However, the enemy was undeterred it cleaved its huge great sword horizontally, sending a powerful concentrated magic energy beam at the incoming rings.
BOOM!
An explosion resounded in the room as the two collided, resulting in several shockwaves spreading out in all directions.
Breirai’s brows creased likely as he sensed the enemy’s concentrated energy beam attack grazed the surface of his Divine Armaments. Good thing he only sent out two rings each, if not, and his defenses were not on par, he would have suffered a backlash from that. Nevertheless, he was positive that the main reason his rings were able to withstand that powerful attack was because of the Sigil’s blessings.
Meanwhile, Breira’s rings continued to spin toward the enemy. However, the latter managed to send out a succession of concentrated magic energy attacks with his great sword as he ran.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Breira moved his hands as he controlled the rings, escaping the concentrated attacks the enemy sent out.
At the same time, Armak made weaving motions with his hands and his Divine Armament spun toward the stray concentrated attacks that were about to come their way.
A thin dark line appeared on one side of the Armark’s Divine Armament. It was directly at the center making it seem more coffin than ever. It then opened, revealing an empty dark space.
It did not seem to have anything worth saying, but the moment it opened, a vacuum-like force appeared and attracted all stray attacks that Brerai’s rings successfully evaded.
The corner of Kyran’s lips tugged slightly as he realized Armak’s Divine Armament had space attributes. Of course, having space attribute Divine Armament did not mean their innate magic was the same. It only meant that Armak had an additional path he could take if he chose to utilize his Divine Armament’s space attribute.
In any case, Kyran would let Armak choose his own path. Besides, the latter’s innate magic was similar to Reuben: Darkness.
Seeing that its attacks failed, the enemy stopped midway from its sprint and pierced its great sword on the floor. A wave-like force came out of it and spread in every direction.
After that, three more enemies, which by now they confirmed were automatons, standing among the first row also moved.
Unlike the first automaton, they wielded a small shield and a sword.
They sprinted forward before the two coming from both sides threw their shields in a beautiful arc toward Kyran’s.
It appeared these automatons realized that the two aides were protecting the person in silver and dark purple armor, standing behind them.
Armak and Breira reacted to this at once. However, before they could even make a move, Kyran stopped them, “Focus on the enemy and their attacks on both of you. Don’t worry about me.”
“Yes, Master,” they answered readily.
Their agreeing quickly to his order did not mean they were not worried about his welfare. It was more with the fact they knew he did not need their help to protect himself. Besides, the silver armor he donned looked so powerful and solid that Armak and Breira believed it would be close to impossible for anyone to hurt or even injure him.
Of course, they did not really think their Master’s defenses were invincible. For this reason, they agreed to his order, but they would still keep an eye on him just in case.
The three shield attacks arrived at Kyran and were about to hit when several translucent silver plates, resembling dragon’s scales, appeared and circled him while forming a halfsphere around him.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
The three shields hit the translucent silver plates and were blocked effortlessly. Their momentum was neutralized in an instant. However, before they fell to the ground they hovered back toward the three automatons.
Those three, while the shield had yet to collide with Kyran’s plates, sprinted at Breira’s spot.
They raised their swords and attacked him in succession.
Breira’s eyes showed full concentration as he engaged the three automatons. Using the rings on his forearms, he raised his arms and blocked their every strike. Combined with a graceful yet steady footwork, he managed to resist the seemingly choreographed attacks of the three automatons. At the same time, he was still controlling the golden rings that the first automaton tried to drive away.
Armak also took this chance to focus on the first automaton so it would not go after Breira. His Divine Armament closed as they shrank in size. After which, he willed it toward the first automaton, which was still standing in place with his great sword pierced on the floor.
Before Armak’s Divine Armament could slam itself at the first automaton, the latter’s golden eyes flashed once more and another set of automatons moved.
This time, there were five automatons and were wielding spears.
Armak made circling motions with his hands and his coffin-like Divine Armament spun while flying to intercept the five automatons.
But not all those automatons were interested in fighting Armak.
Three of them— two on each side and one in the middle, jumped out of their five-line formation and sprinted toward Kyran’s location. The remaining two approached the incoming coffin-like Divine Armament, with their spears spinning at an alarming speed. They simultaneously struck the coffin’s surface with the tip of their spinning spears and stopped its momentum at once.
Armak’s eyes flashed. He whirled his hands, manipulating his Divine Armament to increase its rotation and neutralize the momentum of the two spinning spears.
On the other side, Breira continued to confront the three automatons and even ignored the other three that belonged to the five new ones that went to their Master.
Kyran smiled at the incoming automatons. He was just wondering if they would ignore his existence. But it seemed they were aware that among the three intruders, he posed the greatest danger and had to be eliminated at once.
