Legacy of the Dark Sage

Chapter 869 Acquisition (9)

Cyneah, Neo, and True Void left right after that.

lightsΝοvεl ƈοm At first, Kyran was reluctant to let Cyneah go with them, but since Neo was new and she was the only one who held a position among the Eidums, that would allow her to introduce him without resulting in unrest. After all, Neo’s hair color was considered dark compared to the blonde ones that complete beings possessed. Obviously, he was not an ideal complete being and could easily be mistaken for someone living in Hollow Pass.

In the end, they underestimated their priorities. Unlike when Kyran showed up, and the Eidums immediately noticed his dark hair and eyes, when they saw Neo, they first noticed his good looks.

Alas, like how Tyr’s looks drew attention in the Human plane, especially from females, the Eidums were the same.

Cyneah and True Void were speechless because of this. Even Nachum felt somewhat embarrassed at how his people acted.

Honestly, Kyran was feared by the Eidums because his average looks did not alleviate their fear of him being an Imon-spawn. There was a good chance that the Eidums, especially the females, would not be overly cautious around him if he had Tyr’s looks while having dark hair and eyes.

True Void could not help but sneer as he wondered how these female complete beings would react if they saw Kyran without a mask. He could already picture them regretting their initial treatment of Kyran. Although they never treated him harshly and accepted him as their benefactor, most still kept their distance.

After dismissing the rest of the Eidums and a few Armakean officers who stayed at the Armakea border, Cyneah and True Void shared Kyran’s suggestions with Ames and Nachum.

Ames initially wanted to avoid helping. She even told them she only stayed there because she worried about her grandson. But then True Void taunted her by saying she was only making an excuse, and she was afraid she could not live up to her grandson’s expectations.

Even though Ames knew True Void was taunting her on purpose, she got provoked anyway and ultimately agreed to help. She even vowed that no problem would appear during Nachum’s ascension. If not, she would cut off one of her horns.

It should be noted that a dragon’s horn was connected to their life force and magic, which meant the more horns a dragon had, the more powerful their life force and magic would be.

Cyneah and Nachum could not help but shake their heads at Ames and True Void’s banter. Although they had only known them for more than a day, they had already witnessed their banter while helping Kyran recover. Ultimately, the two stopped annoying each other when Kyran’s condition stabilized, and they allowed Cyneah to stay with him.

Finally, after completing their short discussion, Nachum led Ames, Neo, and True Void to the Eidum’s border.

As for Cyneah, she called for her assistants, Oded and Yalen, to help her prepare as many potions and pills as they could before Achim and the rest returned. Because she knew that once they returned, they would go to war again. She also instructed another Eidum to prepare a medicinal bath for Kyran.

Kyran was not idle. While Cyneah and True Void did their part, he spoke to his Servants telepathically and made preparations.

Contrary to what Cyneah and True Void thought, Kyran did not plan on waiting for Achim and the others to return. He already predicted that the Armakea King would send a few of his forces to deal with Achim at the fort they had just vacated while sending another group to the border to deal with Kesiah.

Considering this, Kyran made a brief calculation in his head and believed this was an excellent chance to make a move. He did not want to drag his plans on acquiring the Armakea Knights because he had to deal with the Nobles from the Kingdom of Cretea afterward.

Kyran had also considered going into battle against Flos’s side if he went after the Nobles. Nevertheless, he was not afraid of confronting them. The only thing that kept him on edge was Layla’s presence. It was not because he was scared of her but because he had an idea why she wanted to talk to him.

“Master,” Jita entered the room, bringing in a new set of clothes for Kyran.

Kyran got up from the bed and took the clothes from her. Sitting on top of the clothes, he noticed his pouch and mask.

“The Mistress has prepared a medicinal bath for you. I’ll take you there.”

Kyran only nodded in response as he wore his mask and donned Nar’s face. Thinking about his identity as Nar, Kyran sighed. He forgot to tell Cyneah his real name again.

‘I’ll have to tell her the truth later,’ Kyran vowed to himself. He then followed Jita out of the room.

*

Achim, Kesiah, Malek, and the rest were gathered at a vast clearing. All four moons lit up the night sky, which signifies they were already halfway through the night.

“Prince Achim,” one of the fort leaders could not help but speak up in concern. “Is it really alright for us to gather in such a conspicuous place?”

“It’s fine. We’re only waiting for a few people.”

The other fort leaders exchanged glances. Rather than being concerned about being seen by the enemies, they were worried about drawing the attention of the feral beasts that lived at the edge of the clearing. They might have the advantage in number, but if they encountered a horde of feral beasts, they would definitely lose a few. And they could not afford to lose anyone if they wanted to persist in their conquest.

“You don’t have to worry about those beasts,” Kesiah assured the fort leaders as if reading their thoughts. “We have someone keeping an eye on them.”

The person she referred to was Gael.

At that moment, Gael was using his Shadow magic to monitor the movements of the feral beasts at the edge of the clearing. Thus far, none of the beasts could get close because he would absorb them into his shadows if they dared approach.

The fort leaders furtively looked at Malek and the rest of the humans when Kesiah answered them, thinking she was referring to one of them.

Malek, Noir, and even Sigma did not notice the fort leaders looking at them. Actually, they chose to ignore them because they were still thinking about what Achim had told them early that evening.

Going back a few hours ago, while they were on their way back to the border, Achim, Gael, and Kesiah suddenly ordered them to stop. They then announced that they would change direction because they needed to meet with a few people. After that, they took Malek, Noir, and Sigma aside and told them who they were meeting.

Kyran and a few others.

After hearing this, Malek, Noir, and Sigma felt mixed emotions. It had been over seven years since they last saw anyone they knew from the Human plane. Yes, they met Gael, but Kyran was altogether a different matter. He was their ticket in returning to the Human plane, after all.

On the other hand, Layla, who Haji and the rest of the Servants were guarding, more or less guessed who they were waiting for. Because of this, she was full of anticipation.

Finally, when one of Somuli’s four moons started to dim, the area in front where Achim and the other leaders stood crackled.

A surge of magic energy suddenly converged around it as a fissure tore through the space.

Most complete beings and humans were shocked at the dense magic energy that gathered around the fissure. After all, Somuli’s natural magic energy was too thin.

The fissure grew but stopped when its size was large enough for a few adults to pass through. After that, three figures stepped out, with the one in the middle leading the other two.

Malek narrowed his eyes as he recognized Kyran. From what they heard from Gael, it had only been over a year since they disappeared from the Human plane. Yet, in just over a year, Kyran seemed to have changed a lot.

On the other hand, Noir and Sigma could not help but smile after seeing Kyran. They felt somewhat nostalgic after seeing him. They did not even care how much he had changed; they only cared about seeing him again.

When Cyneah stepped out of the fissure, Layla’s sapphire blue eyes sparkled in anticipation. She barely contained her excitement, and even her intentions seemed to have taken a visible form. Ultimately, her excitement got the best of her, and she wanted to feel Cyneah. But before her magic sense could touch her, the air around her crackled as an oppressive energy fell before her.

[Touch her, and I’ll take your core.]

Layla froze as bits of cold sweat trickled down the side of her face. Even her back was suddenly drenched in sweat. She slowly gazed upon the young man standing close to Cyneah and finally realized who he was.

This was the first time Layla had seen Kyran wearing a mask; thus, she failed to recognize him.

“Sir Nar, you have come,” Achim and Kesiah greeted Kyran.

Nahir frowned after seeing Cyneah with Kyran but did not say anything. He only looked at the latter questioningly.

Kyran ignored Nahir’s gaze and instead addressed all of them.

“Sorry for the wait,” he started. “In a while, Jita will distribute potions to help you alleviate your fatigue and replenish your energy. Once everyone finishes the potions, we’ll leave and go to our next stop.”

“Next stop?” One of the fort leaders asked cautiously. “Are we not going to the borders?”

“No,” Kyran replied, shaking his head. Without waiting for the fort leader to ask a follow-up question, he declared, “We’re going to visit the King of Armakea.”

Except for Kyran’s Servants, the rest were shocked at what he said.

“You… are still as reckless as ever,” Malek could not help but say with a scowl.

On the other hand, Noir chuckled while Sigma snorted in amusement.
