Chapter 423 Interrogation (2)
It was information new to Kyran, and it did not sound good.
Kyran’s first question was to give Savagery a false impression of his identity. Any native of a plane would have asked that question from the start unless he already knew their reason, and Kyran did not want to appear he knew why they had come.
His following questions were all made based on her answers. But now that she answered something new, he could not help but feel a sense of dread.
Kyran had a feeling the person Ruin was looking for was not ‘him.’ Because if it were, the Conclave would have noticed someone seemingly ‘powerful’ from the Royal Family was looking for him.
Eyeing Savagery apprehensively, Kyran tried to find any indication of a lie. He knew she was trying to buy some time while confirming if her coded message managed to go through— yes, he knew she sent a message while hiding within the red mist; he saw all these with his magic sense— but he felt she would not lie about this just to buy time.
Savagery seemed wary of Kyran’s appearance. Her attitude somewhat changed upon seeing his ‘dragon armor.’ After all, she tried to run during their battle instead of confronting him.
Still, what she said also made some sense to Kyran.
One good example is Ruin’s behavior.
That guy had been in the Human plane for more than a month, yet he had not made any move to find Kyran. He had been silent all this time.
Ruin’s gift might be sealed now, but Kyran knew he had other ways to find him if he really wanted to.
But knowing Ruin was not after Kyran did not put the latter in a good mood. It only proved that whatever task Ruin was doing was far more important than playing with Kyran.
‘The novitiate will not be complete without that person’s sacrifice…’
Recalling Savagery’s words made Kyran’s brow furrowed. To be honest, he had a pretty good guess of who the person was. And knowing it was making his mood worse.
Instead of squeezing out information from Savagery with things she did not know, Kyran decided to gather information on the two other Sovereigns. Especially their whereabouts.
“This Ruin you talked of, who is he?”
“T-The Sovereign of the Damned plane. Sovereign of Ruin.”
“Another Sovereign…”
“T-That is…”
“I’m guessing there is a third.”
Savagery clammed her mouth as if determined not to provide more clues. But as soon as Kyran lifted his left hand, she exclaimed, “Yes!”
“Who is he?”
Kyran had an idea of who it was, but he had to know for sure. This way, he could prepare for the worse.
“Deception… T-The Sovereign of the inPorteo plane.”
As Kyran expected, that guy had come.
Deception was the Sovereign backing the Gramen Kingdom from the Myedeo plane, and Kyran guessed inPorteo plane was her original plane.
Knowing Deception and Ruin had come gave Kyran an idea of what he had to do after this.
Find a new hiding place for Anette and Cyneah.
Kyran was not going to let them stay in the cottage anymore. The cottage’s array would not be enough to protect them against Sovereigns, even if their level went down to Legendary. Zephyr and his puppet would also not be enough as bodyguards.
While Deception’s arrival in the Human plane might be because of Kyran, Kyran was positive that if she knew Anette was alive, she would come after her instead.
As to why Cyneah also needed to move when it seemed Anette was the only one that held value between them was because…
“I sensed three powerful presences more than a month ago. It seems those three are you guys,” Kyran decided not to think about it for now and continued his interrogation.
“W-We are only invited—”
“You already said that,” Kyran cut her off. “I don’t care if you three were invited here. You said Ruin is looking for someone. What about the other one? Where is he?”
Kyran knew Deception was female but addressed her as he to make Savagery believe he did not know her.
“I-I don’t…”
Savagery’s eyes darted about. It was clear she did not want to answer and, at the same time, worried that if she did not, Kyran would do something.
Kyran raised his left hand to help make up her mind.
True enough, Savagery replied at once, “Deception is with the novitiate, waiting for news of my victory.”
Kyran could not help but chuckle.
“‘News of your victory,’ huh.”
Savagery tensed as she looked at him. A small part of her wanted to rip the smugness out of the entity. But the more significant part of her trembled in fear.
The cause of her fear had nothing to do with her experience with a dragon.
Back then, she managed to regenerate her missing limbs. However, this time, the arm the entity had severed was not showing any signs of recovering! It was the same with her other arm. It might have stopped bleeding, but there were no signs of regeneration, which was impossible.
She might only be at a Legendary level now, but that only affected her magic output. It did not affect her abilities, yet she could not regenerate her limbs!
“I-I was arrogant. Spare me this time; I will see this as an act of mercy and repay your kindness. I can even gift you my baby— m-my creations, I mean.”
Savagery rephrased her words after seeing the entity tilt its head to one side, looking somewhat amused.
The way she said it did sound off if others heard her.
“What makes you think I’m interested?” Kyran asked.
“That’s… Did you not take my Echidna because you are interested in it..?”
“I only took that ugly beast to lure you.”
Savagery’s brow twitched involuntarily after hearing it spoke of her creation as ugly. But she reigned in her anger. After all, she now sensed her communication device heat up inside her storage space.
It was an indication that one of her colleagues had replied!
“By the way,” Kyran added after seeing Savagery’s eyes losing some of their despair and even looking like they had regained some of her arrogance. “Your device heating up is not because someone replied to your message.”
Savagery’s eyes instantly widen in shock.
“That’s me destroying it.”
What Kyran said was not a bluff. He did use his magic sense to destroy every device in Savagery’s space storage.
Space storage could only be opened by the person whose magic energy was imprinted into it; this was true.
However, Kyran succeeded in opening Savagery’s space storage because he imprinted some of his magic energy on Savagery when she was in her red mist form. Then while he appeared to be busy asking her questions, and she appeared to be readily answering but, in truth, was also checking her space storage, Kyran also took this time to further corrupt her magic energy.
Of course, doing this was only possible inside his world. Because the magic energy here was under his full control, he could not do this if they were in the real world.
Savagery struggled to take out her device at once, but before she could even sit up properly, a dark purple spear appeared in Kyran’s hand as he said, “You should have said ‘please’ when you asked to be spared.”
Before Savagery could react, Kyran stepped back and drew the spear, impaling it directly to her forehead.
A look of disbelief was frozen on Savagery’s face as the spear, made of Void magic, turned her brain into nothingness.
From a distance, a guttural scream sounded in the whole plane as the Echidna, having lost its connection to its master, lamented.
Kyran pulled out the Void spear, and Savagery’s body crumbled in an instant. But her body did not crumble into dust. It actually turned into small— about two by three inches— scaly or glittering eggs.
Yes, eggs.
“Oh, you seemed to have gotten yourself quite a haul this time, Void Halfling,” True Void commented as he flew in to join Kyran.𝑂𝑣𝐿xt.𝒸𝑜𝗆
Kyran looked at him with a blank expression.
“Where have you been? Why are you only appearing now that it’s over?”
“What?”
The short blades disengaged as the shape-shifting plates turned into a huge head or at least the Void armor’s helmet. Though it was not visible given the helmet’s lack of facial contours, True Void managed to make the helmet look hurt.
“You make it sound like I am slacking! I was busy, alright. I was dealing with this guy’s beasts above.”
Kyran did not respond. Clearly, he did not believe in True Void.
Deciding not to dwell on it, he knelt and looked at the eggs on the ground. He estimated that there were at least a thousand of them.
“These are my spoils, huh.”
True Void turned into a miniature Void armor again and hovered above Kyran’s head.
“You seemed interested in that guy’s beasts. Congratulations! Congratulations! You now have more than a thousand right here.”
“They’re still eggs,” Kyran replied in exasperation and looked at True Void. “I don’t have the time to—.”
He stopped abruptly as Stella crossed his mind.
“No… maybe…”
But then, Stella’s voice seemed to say in his mind:
“I like you, Kyran. No… maybe I’ve already fallen in love with you.”
Kyran’s expression turned sour after recalling her confession. He had acted indifferent after that and tried not to bring it up, but that did not mean he had forgotten about it. He wanted to but knew it would be rude.
In any case, if Kyran asked Stella’s help again, he would appear like he was taking advantage of her feelings.
This was too troublesome.
Kyran waved his hand and stored all the eggs in his storage pouch. He decided to think about the eggs later.
“Oh, you really hauled some good stuff,” True Void commented after seeing what was underneath.
Kyran raised his brows. Indeed, he had.
Underneath was Savagery’s space storage pouch, which he guessed would have plenty of stuff inside. Then there were Savagery’s robe and accessories.
“But the robe is fitted for a female, so you can’t wear it,” True Void remarked. “Oh, the accessories may be good, though. Check it. Check it!”
“I’ll do that later,” Kyran said while shaking his head. He waved his hand and stored Savagery’s items on a separate space storage ring.
“Spoilsport. What’s the rush? Are you worried that Echidna would rampage now that its master is dead? Or are you itching to turn it into your Sigil now?”
“I’ll do that too later.”
“GAAAAH! Why do you keep on saying that? You’re making me nervous.”
“I have to go somewhere first.”
