Chapter 319 Seize Another One
Tritus was forced back a few paces from the explosion. However, that did not hinder him to release another attack.
As he fell, he whirled the trident horizontally before him. The surrounding magic energies stirred and several maelstorms appeared from the ground below. Its height rose at an incredible speed and went straight at what remained of the illusory silver-white dragon.
The maelstorms pierced through the illusory silver-white dragon, riddling it with holes.
RAWRGH!
With a thunderous roar, the illusory dragon flapped its wings, unleashing a gale of silver-white energy that smashed through the maelstorms.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The sky burst out with blue and white sparks from the collision of the two.
BAM!
“Humph!” Tritus snorted as he landed with a loud thud on the ground.
Ordinary mages would have had trouble landing unscathed from high above. But Tritus was no ordinary mage, he was a mage who would soon become a Legendary!
Especially now that he was 90% sure that the masked man above was not a quilin, but a real living dragon!
The remaining 10% was not because he had any doubts, but that the masked man was not a pureblooded dragon.
In any case, the masked man showed its dragon form. Though it was only illusory, no human would be able to conjure up such detailed dragon unless it was a spirit.
But the masked man was clearly not a spirit.
Apart from that, the raw power it had in such a small frame was simply impossible. The Quilin they had been chasing around the ruins did not possess such power. It was powerful, yes, but its power lies on its large area offensive attacks, not melee or physical strength.
Right now, the masked man appeared to be using its magic, but Tritus could sense raw physical strength with each of its attack.
“I will take my time studying you and when I am done, I will extract your heart and eat it!” Tritus muttered, his eyes glinted with a sinister light.
“I see, that’s why you sound excited after seeing my dragon form.”
A deep low voice spoke from above.
Tritus’s eyes widened in surprise.
Before he could even fully react, the masked man appeared before him, its right arm glowed silver-white looking like an illusory dragon arms.
BAM!
Kyran smacked Tritus right on his face.
Crack!
Cracks appeared on the surface of Tritus’s visor which spread in different directions, filling his helmet in an instant. Then his helmet exploded revealing a handsome middle-aged man with long blonde hair and blue eyes.
However, his handsome face was replaced by a cracked nose and broken teeth, as the force of Kyran’s punch penetrated through.
“Gwah!” Tritus spat out a mouthful of blood and broken teeth before he was thrown back at least a hundred meters.
What transpired appeared to happen for a few seconds, but in reality, it only took a second or two.
Kyran landed on his feet on the ground and watched Tritus rolled off the ground a few times before finally stopping.
He raised his brows in amazement, seeing that he only managed to break the man’s helmet and a few of his teeth. After all, Kyran was already using 10% of the Regis Blessing. No one would be able to withstand a single of his punch.
Well⦠maybe only Nolan and his father.
‘Interesting,’ Kyran thought, his silver eyes glinted in amusement. ‘Is this the defenses of an Arch Magus? An innate ability? Or the armor?’
By now, anyone who had seen his eyes glow like that and had lived to tell the tale could already guess what was coming next.
There were only two possible outcomes. Kyran would either ‘have some fun,’ or was considering if he could use that person.
With that in mind, Kyran took a step, using the Dragon Step to appear right before Tritus.
Tritus, who had yet to recover from getting thrown, stiffened as he sensed the masked man appearing before him.
Instinctively, he swung his trident aiming to hit the masked man on the shin.
BAM!
Before the trident could hit his left shin, Kyran lifted his left feet and stomped on its shaft, pinning it on the ground.
Once again, Kyran was surprised that the trident did not break from his stomp.
Tritus was equally surprised at his oppressive strength. However, he could only reign in his surprise and attack! He was not a weak mage that anyone could trample on!
With his pride on the line, Tritus burst out with magic pressure of an Arch Magus.
“Rawrgh!” He roared and his trident vibrated with power as the Sea Serpent spirit within awakened once more.
Tritus lifted the trident.
Instead of getting swept by the trident, Kyran followed its motion and did a backward flip.
However, before he could land on the ground, Tritus struck the trident forward releasing the Sea Serpent spirit.
RAWRGH!
The Sea Serpent roared and flew straight at Kyran.
While still in midair, Kyran forced his body to turn and evade the Sea Serpent’s head. Then he twisted his body so he could face its body from above. He reached out his right hand and tap the Sea Serpent’s back.
Silver-white energy seeped out of his hand and instantly covered the Sea Serpent’s body.
RAWRGH!
With an agonizing roar, the Sea Serpent’s body burst into silver-white flames.
Even when the Sea Serpent spirit was suddenly engulfed in flames, Tritus did not falter. However, new blood trickled down at the corner of his mouth after receiving the backlash of having his spirit weapon hurt.
Tritus’s blue eyes turned to gold as he stretched out his right hand and several vortexes made of water appeared behind him.
From within the vortexes, three-meter long water blades burst out toward Kyran.
Kyran, who was still suspended in midair, sensed the incoming attack and in an instant, released a silver-white barrier which appeared like dragon scales.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Explosions rang out as the water blades collided with the barrier.
As soon as Kyran landed on the ground, he punched the ground with his right fist and shattered it at least a twenty-meter radius.
RUMBLE!
Tritus was forced to jump back. But he did not simply retreat and unleashed another attack. He swung his trident vertically, releasing a five-meter blue arc that seemed to slash through the air.
Without lifting his head to look at Tritus’s follow up attack, the remaining intact dragon scales around Kyran shifted and formed a half-sphere barrier that collided with the blue arc.
Another explosion rang out and the whole surroundings were filled with clouds of smoke.
“Humph,” Tritus snorted as soon as he landed on an even ground. A sinister smile appeared on his face as he pierced the trident on the ground, and then he shouted while looking up at the sky, “DELUGE!”
RUUUUMBLE!
Dark clouds formed above, covering the whole make-shift camp of the Templar Code. A massive dark blue sphere appeared above and the intensity of the magic energy within bore down to the land below.
FOOOOM!
The silver-white dragon scales that circled Kyran shattered from the pressure brought by the dark blue sphere, and a deafening silence filled the air.
‘This…’ Kyran’s eyes narrowed as he realized the pressure from Tritus’s attack was very similar to the one his father’s human essence had unleashed during their first encounter.
The only difference was, that his father’s human essence summoned it using a Saint-tier array, while this one was summoned using pure water magic!
If he had to compare, the former was artificially made, while the former was close to the real one.
BOOOM!
The dark blue sphere exploded and a massive outpour of condensed water magic energy fell on the land.
What few make-shift tents, towers and even mobile turrets that were still left standing were smashed in an instant. Even the ground had been pressed down a few meters from the pressure.
Amidst the deafening silence, a low sigh reverberated.
Tritus’s brow furrowed when he heard the sigh. He looked his gaze and looked at the spot where he had last seen the masked man and his eyes contracted.
There he saw the masked man walking toward him looking unaffected by the pressure from his attack!
“Look,” Kyran started. “I still have a number of things to do. We will have to stop now.
“Don’t worry. You piqued my interest so I will not kill you. Instead…”
Kyran’s silver eyes suddenly turned to deep purple as he disappeared and reappeared behind Tritus.
“Wha-ugh!”
Tritus was unable to react as Kyran grabbed his head from behind. An unsurmountable pressure had filled the area around him, making it impossible for him to move.
Kyran’s eyes glowed reddish-purple and a dark purple rune appeared, hovering before Tritus’s face.
This rune was Kyran’s original. Its effect was; magic energy isolation.
At the same time, two silver rings appeared on the ground.
Feeling a sense of crisis, Tritus’s eyes glowed as he decided to unleash his domain. However, it was then that he finally noticed that he could not rouse his magic! It was as if he had been cut off from the magic energies in the surrounding.
No. That was not exactly correct. Even though he could not rouse the magic energies in the surrounding, he should be able to summon magic by using his magic reserves.
“I’m turning you,” Kyran finally said and two overlapping dragons emerged from the silver rings.
“NO!” Tritus roared.πΆππ΅xt.πππ¦
However, no sound came out of his mouth.
The dragons circled them and at the same time, the dark blue clouds dispersed.
