Chapter 308 Undying Valkyrie
The moment Kyran finished speaking, his eyes glowed silver as he locked on to the two Templar Code Elite Team members amidst the crowd.
He recognized the two from the golden armor and the aura of an Exalted and a Grand Master they exuded.
Besides the Exalted before him, Kyran sensed three others scattered around the camp. Compared to the one in front, the other three had been staying in one place, unmoving.
Since those three had no plans of coming, Kyran would also go to them after dealing with these people.
“Scatter!” Freya and Reuben ordered at soon as their vision was reduced by the cloud of dust.
All Templar Code members scattered while rousing their magic.
“Turrets! Activate Lumina Array! Forward, encirclement formation! Rear, await for command!” Reuben directed one after another.
The Templar Code members moved as they were told.
“I’m going in,” Freya told Reuben as she took out a golden stave with a blade made of diamonds. Without waiting for a response, she cast a haste spell on herself and dashed toward the spot where she could sense the man in a black panther mask.
BAM!
“Ugh!” Freya was suddenly flung to the side as a powerful force slammed at her.
“Lady Freya!” Most of the Templar Code members exclaimed as they saw her silhouette get thrown to the side, crashing on three make-shift tents one after another.
The one who had attacked her was, of course, Kyran who had locked on to her because of her Exalted status.
Reuben’s brow furrowed as he gritted his teeth and closed in on the silhouette that had appeared right next to the spot where Freya had been. He cast haste and power boost spells as two golden small daggers appeared on each of his hands.
Crouching slightly, Reuben aimed his daggers toward the silhouette’s legs. Knowing that the man in the black panther mask had an abnormal speed, he decided to aim for the legs to deal a blow to the man’s movement.
However, even before he could close in on the man, the latter disappeared in thin air.
“What?” Reuben’s eyes widened and felt a prickling sensation at the back of his neck as he felt an imminent danger closing in on him.
Instinctively, he moved his head to the side. As he did, something cold and sharp grazed his neck.
“Ergh..!” Reuben winced feeling a sharp pain as blood trickled down his neck from where the cold sharp something had touched.
He immediately twisted his body to turn to his side. But then he heard a cold snort before a powerful force slammed on his back.
Crack!
“ARGH!” Reuben screamed as the back of his armor broke and his spinal cord cracked. Searing hot white pain shot through his whole body. His vision blurred as he was blasted toward the front, hitting one of the nearby make-shift tents.
Boom!
It was at this time that the members of the Templar Code which consisted of the ‘forward’ team, had finished rousing their magic and summoning magic attacks.
They all aimed at the spot where Reuben was just attacked, unleashing their most powerful attacks.
Different colored concentrated magic energy attacks zoned in on Kyran. However, he did not flinch and only turned to look at the incoming attacks. His eyes glowed silver as he lifted his right arm.
Silver-colored dragon scales appeared around him, completely blocking off all the incoming magic attacks.
The whole surroundings were once again filled with a cloud of smoke from when the magic attacks had hit the dragon scales.
All the forward team of the Templar Code closed in as they summoned their weapons. They had decided to do a combined melee attack.
“Humph,” Kyran sneered as he saw them. He lowered his hand and took one step forward. As he did, a powerful force spread outward starting from his feet.
The force instantly blew away the cloud of dust and smoke. Then it slammed on all the forward members, their armors instantly smashed into pieces. They all coughed out a mouthful of blood as they were blasted toward the back.
The rear team members of the Templar Code who managed to witness all of this happen in only a short few breaths of time were flabbergasted.
Their minds reeled and even ordered them to escape or make a move, unfortunately, their body refused to listen.𝒪𝔳𝐿xt.𝐂𝒪𝓂
All of them stood there in utter shock, as the force from man’s step finally swept through the. They were also forced back a few paces, with blood trickling down their mouths.
With silver glowing eyes, Kyran ignored the rest of the members and went after the woman.
At the same time, Freya managed to avoid getting killed in one hit because her armor was one of the few ones the Research Department had reinforced after studying the force that destroyed Owen, Dess, and Quinne’s armors.
Nevertheless, Freya sustained internal injuries which instantly sent her mind reeling.
A simple kick and she was thrown almost thirty meters away, and even broke three of her ribs.
What kind of monstrous strength did the man in the black panther mask possess to accomplish that?
‘He’s definitely that man, who killed Owen and his team!’ Freya thought, her whole body flushed with murderous intent. Recalling what had happened to the three made her blood boil. She wanted nothing more to satisfy her need for revenge. However, the still sane part of her was telling her not to engage, because if she did, she would die miserably.
‘He killed Owen! That man is Owen’s murderer!’
Nevertheless, Freya’s heart ached to recall how Owen ended up unrecognizable after suffering from such brutality. She could not accept that. What did he ever do to deserve such treatment?
“I’ll kill you!” Freya growled in anger, her magic pressure instantly bursting out from her as she stood up. “I, Freya, of the Y’Rik Clan will have your head!”
The golden stave reappeared on her hand as she turned to look at the incoming man.
She already sensed him coming, and she would not back down. Today, she would have her revenge!
Kyran who heard the woman, Freya, could not help but smile coldly. He had heard about the Y’Rik Clan. They were not a native of the Ylfaen Empire but the western nation, Valkyria.
The Valkyria nation focused on magic advancement through technology. Most mages there used puppets. However, there were still those who prefer to strengthen their own magic, in any way possible. Just like the Y’Rik Clan.
However, their idea of ‘any way possible’ involved live human mage experiments and the replacement of body parts. Because of this, the Valkyria government forced them to leave the nation.
When they left the Valkyria government, the then Ylfaen Emperor took them under his wings and soon the Royal Army’s Research Division flourished. Then some of the Y’Rik members who did not want to be bound by the Royal Army or the Royal Family chose to leave the clan and moved to the west Ylfaen.
Now, it appeared the Templar Code had recruited one Y’Rik clan member and was even at an Exalted level.
Whether this woman Freya possessed the forbidden technology of the Y’Rik Clan was something Kyran was interested in.
But he was not that interested that he would not kill her. If she died easily in his hands, then whatever magic technology she possessed from the Y’Rik Clan was not worth mentioning.
Golden light filled Freya as she whirled her stave before blasting forward to meet the masked man.
Kyran, on the other hand, did not pause when he saw her approach. Instead, he increased his speed as silver-white energy formed on both his forearms.
As soon as Freya was only three meters away, she abruptly stopped and spun the stave in her hand above. Golden magic energy formed on the stave, forming a small golden vortex above her. After a couple of seconds, she flung the stave down toward the masked man.
Kyran, seeing her move stopped in his tracks.
But he did not plan on evading or blocking Freya’s attack. He would counter with one of his own.
He pulled back his right leg, before shifting his weight on his left as he stepped forward. Then he arched his back, both his arms braced on his sides, before bending forward and slamming his fists on the ground, creating massive web-like cracks.
BOOM!
A massive explosion rang out as Kyran’s fists hit the ground, at the same time as Freya’s attack.
An enormous shockwave spread out forcing Freya to fall back a few meters. Cracks formed on her golden armor. Even the surrounding make-shift tents had been destroyed just by the force of the shockwave alone.
“Ergh!” Freya gritted her teeth, forcing her body to stop, and once again pushed forward toward the masked man. She knew the attack did nothing to him and that was fine. It was not like the attack she did was the best she could do. It was one of her powerful attacks, yes, but she was only testing how the man would react and did not use too much magic energy.
Now she knew the man would rather attack back than block or evade her attacks. If this was the case, it would be better to fight him in his own game!
Freya’s eyes glowed gold as she roused her magic. The golden light that filled her intensified and the cracks on her armor repaired themselves. Even her internal injuries started to heal.
This was Freya’s magic.
Restoration.
And it was because of this magic, that she became the leader of the Elite Team. As long as there was magic energy available, she would be able to fully restore herself to the best state she had been.
This instantly, earned her the nickname, the Undying Valkyrie.
Kyran straightened as he looked at Freya. He already noticed how the golden light had begun to restore her armor and his eyes glinted.
