Chapter 278: Kicking Up A Storm (5)

Chapter 278: Kicking Up A Storm (5)

"You—! Ugh!"

Before Matias could even look up and glare at Kyran, the wooden staff in Kyran's hand shifted and the top of Matias's head.

"Pipe down," he told Matias and hit his head one more time.

"Ack!"

Almost all the onlookers gaped at the scene before them with bulging eyes.

Even Mimi, who initially did not view Kyran favorably for taking her sister's opportunity to become Chairman Noir's disciple, was now looking at him in a different light.

On the other hand, Millie's eyes sparkled as she looked at Kyran. She initially jumped to his defenses to appease the crowd's opinion about him and, at the same time, divert Matias, who was backed by the Lumley Family, attention at her. At least, if Matias's attention were on her, as a member of the Courtenay Family, any exchange between them would not escalate.

What Millie did not expect, apart from not caring one bit of what others think of him, 'Disciple Tyr' also would not bat an eye when teaching Matias a lesson, knowing perfectly well who the latter was.

Millie's heart pounded frantically inside her. Her admiration for Disciple Tyr seemed to rise at a very dangerous height.

"What are you doing?" Matias bellowed and tried yet again to glare at  Kyran. "Did you not hear who I am? I am Matias the son of—ack!"

Kyran struck his head yet again.

"I heard you the first time," he replied with a frown.

The older man beside Kyran could not help but break out in cold sweat, seeing the visible round lump piling up on Matias's head.

At the moment, in terms of seniority among the order's front office members, he was the one in charge. Though his jurisdiction did not include the Blacksmiths and Array Specialists department, he had to take responsibility in instances like this.

However, he was hesitant to say or do anything because 'Tyr' was still Chairman Noir's disciple. In the Blacksmith Order, his position was almost comparable to President Sigma.

Others might not understand why that was since Tyr was only a disciple. But because of the unique disposition of an Array Specialist, not to mention Chairman Noir's identity as the top Array Master of the Ylfaen Empire, being his disciple meant a lot. Yet, for more than a year of being a disciple, Tyr had never appeared in public. Because of this, rumors had circulated about his identity, and even Chairman Noir's integrity had been questioned.

While the older man pondered these things, a thought crossed his mind. Instantly, the look on his eyes changed from fear to approval.

'Could it be, Disciple Tyr was making such noise because he was trying to compensate for that one year of silence and also wanted to recover Chairman Noir's reputation?'

Of course, the older man's thoughts were his own misunderstanding, and this was not Kyran's intention.

The real reason behind Kyran's actions was laying the foundation of his plans. Of course, others might not understand how this situation would help his plans, but not understanding was proof that Kyran's planning was already successful.

Ignoring Matias's struggle and constant cursing, Kyran looked at the crowd and bowed his head a little.

"Once again, let me apologize for such an unsightly scene that you all have to witness," he straightened his back and smiled, "I take full responsibility for what just happened. To compensate for taking too much of your time, how about I make a magic item for everyone you free of charge?"

The crowd burst out in excitement. Though some of them had been influenced by Matias's remark earlier, if someone told them they would get a free magic item, it did not matter whether the quality was subpar. As long as an Array Specialist made it, its quality would still be higher than magic items crafted by a blacksmith.

Hearing Kyran's announcement, the older man was further convinced of his speculation.

By giving people his personally crafted magic items, they would know of his work. Moreover, depending on the magic item's quality, as Chairman Noir's disciple, his reputation would also increase.

Not to mention, Lady Mimi and Lady Millie were among the crowd. If they were satisfied with Disciple Tyr's work, the Courtenay Family would have to admit that Lady Millie lost to someone with real skills. They might even be willing to back Disciple Tyr. The Courtenay Family had an Array Specialist, but that was it. He was only a specialist, not a master. And that specialist was already an older man. Compared to Disciple Tyr, the latter's future had greater possibilities.

Mimi sneered. She was one of the few selected children of the Courtenay main branch who had been taught to lead the Family's businesses. Because of this, it was impossible for her not to see what Disciple Tyr's motives were when he offered to craft free magic items.

Looking at the position of the people among the crowd, most of them held a position in their own clan or faction. If Tyr ended up crafting quality magic items, all these people would definitely spread the word.

'Crafty,' Mimi thought. She did not detest Tyr's actions, though. As a matter of fact, she approved of it. Thinking of this, she stole a sideways glance at her sister and could not help but sigh at the look of admiration on the younger woman's face.

'If Disciple Tyr made a name for himself, maybe the family will consider recruiting him. When that happens, I'll suggest having Millie personally show him around. In any case, it's still an if. If Disciple Tyr's magic item were only so-so, I would convince Millie to stop fawning over him!'

While these thoughts were swirling in Mimi's mind, Millie, on the other hand, could only look at Kyran with pure admiration.

As for Kyran, after announcing creating a magic item for each of them, he instructed the older man to record all their names, except for Matias. Then he asked Gunter to take care of Matias.

After that, he bowed to the crowd once more before making his way toward the exit.

When he passed by Mimi and Millie, he bowed at them as thanks for standing up to him earlier before pulling his hood over his head.

"S-So cool…." Millie could not help but sigh as Kyran passed her by.

This, of course, was heard by Kyran, who gave her an awkward smile before pulling the black cloth around his neck to cover his lower face.

Kyran's action instantly made Millie's heart skip a beat. Mimi, who saw the subtle exchange, could only shake her head and smile slightly.

Suddenly, Mimi thought of something, and her smile widened.

As soon as Kyran passed through the exit and fewer people were paying attention, his demeanor suddenly changed. In an instant, the somewhat amiable look in his eyes was replaced by coldness.

[What you did just now is so unlike you.]

Nolan's voice suddenly spoke in his head. He had been stealthily following Kyran since he went out from the Blacksmiths and Array Specialists department.

[That's because I'm Disciple Tyr, right now.]

Nolan chuckled. He was already aware of Kyran's plans, and though they did not discuss every step he would take, Nolan could more or less guess Kyran's intentions.

[Aren't you afraid you'd implicate the Conclave in what you've done? That moronic kid is a member of one of the Three Noble Families.]

[I know.]

Kyran replied indifferently as he left the Blacksmith Order's premises.

[If he had a guardian with him, you'd be in a tight position.]

[I won't.]

[Oh? Aren't you confident.]

[I already confirmed there were no such people outside or near the Blacksmith Order before making my move earlier. In any case, you're there. I can always push those annoying people your way.]

Nolan furrowed his brows at him.

[Why you little—.]

[If I can't use you, I can always have T1 take over.]

[T1?]

[My puppet.]

[Ahahahaha! Such a lame naming sense.]

Nolan burst out in laughter.

[Shut up.]

Kyran replied as he turned a corner.

As soon as he did, he vanished into thin air.

When Nolan saw this, he smirked and undid his stealth spell. However, soon after, his expression turned sober. He already sensed Kyran's change, but at the moment, he had not decided if it was for the better.

Others failed to sense it. But ever since Kyran stepped out of his workstation, he had been exuding such an intense killing intent. Only those who experienced life and death situations countless times or had been exposed to killings and murderings in a long period of time would be able to detect it.

'Well, me, you had your wish. The kid's heart won't waver now. Just don't go whining when Rin finds out,' Nolan thought as he transmitted his memories directly to his original self.

Chuckling at the thought, Nolan shook his head as black particles seeped out from under his cloak.

Then, he also disappeared amidst black smoke in a blink of an eye.
