Legacy of the Dark Sage

Chapter 137: Lumi's Excitement

Chapter 137: Lumi’s Excitement

“A-And you? W-What’s your name?” Cyneah asked right after she answered his question.

Kyran raised both his brows at her question. It was not unusual for a person to ask this question, but Kyran thought she was not interested.

“Nar.”

Cyneah smiled and repeated his name in a small voice, “Nar.”

“By the way, I will take the room’s key with me. As for the spare key, the owner has it. I will tell him not to disturb you apart from delivering your meals. If anyone else knocks, or tries to talk to you behind the door, don’t reply.”

“Okay.”

Kyran took a deep breath and looked out the window.

Looking at the brightness outside, he guessed the time was around nine in the morning. He was already behind schedule, so he bought additional energy replenishing potions to warp his way to Noser City. Once there, he would use teleportation tokens to reach his destination, where he would meet up with the people from the Chamber of Commerce.

‘Before that, I need to create a proof that I came here, and then transport the to the Tower,’ he reminded himself.

Kyran turned his attention back to Cyneah and said, “I’ll guide you around now.”

“Hm,” she replied with a nod.

In the next quarter of an hour, Kyran guided Cyneah around the room and patiently taught her the arrangement of the items he left for her.

She was a fast learner and adapted quickly, so he left the room without delay.

Kyran looked for the owner and discussed the arrangements he had for Cyneah. Then he paid a generous amount to make sure the owner would not ask any questions.

When he finished talking to the owner, Kyran went on his way.

Outside Hanaan, Kyran went deeper into the forest and searched for a clearing. When he found one, he created a few small craters using his magic and recorded them in a two inches wide white cube with a gray orb at one side. This cube was a magic item that could record a scene for a few seconds. Light would appear from the orb and scan the area it was facing by pressing the orb once. It was how the cube could record the scene. Once the orb was pressed twice, it would show a holographic version of the scene it scanned. If there were none, then it would only show a black circular space.

Once Kyran was satisfied with his proof, he sat on the ground and took off his mask to prepare for the transportation of the Theihorns.

After a few minutes, he realized he could not transport the containers the way he did with the thousand-year-old Duali and the miasma samples because the containers were too big. If he transported the containers one at a time, it would consume a lot of his energy and stamina. He had only replenished his stash of potions, and yet he would have to use it up again.

With a sigh of resignation, Kyran finally decided to use the most cost-effective way. He would use up most of his stored energy and feel exhausted, but at least he would only do it twice, to and from, and wouldn’t have to do it ‘six times’.

‘Let’s go with that,’ he thought and closed his eyes.

==================

It took only two hours for Vaness and Emery to get to the Tower of Conclave.

When they arrived, Malek, Noir, and Sigma were already waiting for them.

Vaness and Emery found out that the Lord of the Tower was already in the training grounds, waiting at the room where Kyran told them he would transport the materials.

While they were on their way to the training grounds, Vaness relayed the update he received from his people.

This information made Malek frown slightly. When he heard the incident where a group broke into Shaiha Ruins, he did not pay much attention because he was confident of the Conclave’s ability to gather information. But hearing Vaness’s report, it appeared that even they had not found much regarding the incident.

“Do we know what faction the group that broke into the Shaiha Ruins is part of?” He asked.

Vaness shook his head.

“It was unclear. The people from the Templar Code managed to stop any information about the incident from leaking,” he replied.

Malek’s frown deepened. He did not doubt the Templar Code’s ability to contain information about the incident but how fast they reacted.

From previous experiences, the Conclave would have gathered enough information on an incident before the Templar Code could react.

“They are fast,” Malek commented.

Hearing his comment, Sigma thought of something and said, “There might be more to the incident than a simple break in.”

“It is possible that they reacted fast because the group succeeded, and whatever they took is of great value.” Noir also shared his thought.

“But the only valuable item we know of from the Shaiha Ruins are the rare stones,” Vaness said.

“That is because the Templar Code made such a big show about the rare stones. Still, if there is something inside which is of greater value than the rare stones, the Royal Family would not have agreed in selling the ruins to them.” Malek said.

“What if the Royal Family did not really sell the ruins to them but the two are actually working together?” Emery suddenly suggested.

The four stopped and looked at her.

Emery also stopped in her tracks and raised her hands. She said, “I was only rumbling.”

“No. You might be onto something,” Malek said as his brain raced to look at this possibility.

“If they are working with the Royal Family, then it explains how they managed to immediately stop any information from leaking,” he added as he continued walking toward the training grounds.

The four followed close behind.

“However, which faction has the ability to break into a property guarded not only by the Templar Code but the Royal Family and successfully leave?”

The other four did not reply. Malek was not expecting them to respond either.

“We better check the movements of the other factions, as well as those moving in the dark. We may have to reassess each of their influence if not, it may pose a threat to all of us.”

“Yes, Head Master. I will inform my people to check on them,” Vaness agreed.

After a few minutes, they finally arrived at the room where the Lord of Tower was.

They found the Lord, but she was not alone. She was accompanied by a very good-looking man in his mid-twenties with long silver hair and light blue eye inside the rooms.

“You’ve arrived,” Stella smiled the moment Malek and the others entered the room.

Silas, on the other hand, immediately bowed in respect and greeted them, “It is a great privilege to meet the members of the Conclave’s High Council.”

Malek raised his hand and gestured for Silas to stand straight.

“No need for formality. Among us, it is only the Lord of the Tower who deserves absolute respect,” Malek said.

Hearing his words, Stella could not help but roll her eyes. “Ignore him, Silas.”

Sweats appeared on their heads from the Lord’s indifference while looking at Malek’s reaction. Fortunately, he did not take it to heart, and there was even slight humor on his face.

Silas, unfamiliar with the relationship between the Lord of the Tower and the Head Master, felt frightened.

That was the Head of Conclave!

If Silas had a say, the Head of Conclave’s words were a compliment. But the Lord of the Tower brushed it off and even rolled her eyes at his words. Such treatment directed at the Head of Conclave would have resulted in life imprisonment if done by an ordinary Conclave member. No, even someone with a position in the Conclave could be imprisoned for such an act.

“Everyone, meet Silas. He is a mercenary and a guest who will be staying here for a few days.” Stella introduced as if nothing had happened.

This sudden shift of subject made Silas look at the Lord of the Tower in a different light. He thought her status was similar to the Head Master within the Conclave even though she seemed very young. She even looked younger than Silas. However, it seemed she was more powerful than the Head Master.

The other council members nodded at Silas in greeting. They seemed indifferent in the sudden change of subject.

Seeing that the Head Master was not offended by the Lord’s indifference, Silas reigned in his apprehension and continued to observe in silence.

Before Stella could continue to speak, magic fluctuations suddenly appeared at the center of the room.

All of them turned toward the magic fluctuation.

‘This!’ Silas’s brows creased as he felt the air crackle. His hand automatically flew to his sword’s hilt.

Soon a seven-foot-tall fissure appeared vertically in the air.

The magic fluctuations in the surroundings intensified. However, Silas noticed that none of the council members made a move. They even had a calm expression while they looked at the fissure.

Even the Lord of the Tower’s expression brightened as a gentle smile appeared on her beautiful face.

“OH MY GOODNESS!”

Lumi appeared with a soft puff and flew toward the fissure.

“THIS! THIS! OH MY GOODNESS!”

She shouted as she excitedly circled the fissure.

“L-Lady Lumi!” Silas tried to call her attention.

Since the others could not see her, they looked at him quizzically.

Stella, on the other hand, giggled at Lumi’s excitement.

Silas was at a loss. He was unsure why Lumi was suddenly acting like a little kid.

His doubts were soon answered when a silhouette slowly appeared from within the fissure.

Soon this silhouette stepped out, and Silas’s eyes widened.

A young man who looked like a younger version of Master Cade with short hair stepped out.

‘No. Not really a complete replica of Master Cade. His brows and nose were similar to Lady Rin,’ Silas thought, realizing who this person was.

“Kyran Reg-.”

“VOID MASTER!”

Kyran looked up just in time to see a loud puff of big white smoke appearing in front of him. From within the smoke, a very attractive and seductive woman appeared and flew straight at him.

The woman had deep blue long wavy hair and similarly deep blue eyes. Her delicate white and blue dress hugged her curvaceous body.

“W-What-?” Kyran’s eyes widened as the woman extended her arms toward him. Her beautiful pink pulp lips locked on to his.

Kyran’s hand reacted at once, and he held the weird woman’s head on both sides before she could kiss him.

By then, the woman’s full weight crashed onto him, making him lose his balance.

He belatedly realized that the floor around him and the woman were suddenly covered in snow, which caused him to slip and fall.

Everyone inside was too shocked to react.

They could only look at the scene in front with wide eyes.

Even Stella paled at what she had just witnessed.
