Chapter 1230 Dimension (14)
Crackle! Crackle!
The air around Lucian crackled as he unleashed his pressure. Golden light exuded from his body, forming a twenty-meter radius defensive barrier. All hand-shaped fog that tried to touch him disintegrated after coming into contact with his barrier.
For the record, while inside the blockade Deus’s automatons created, Lucian was still aware of what was happening around him. He knew about the contaminated magic energy in the air and Deus’s stupidity, which led to his pathetic mistake.
‘First, it was Midnight, now Deus…?’
The only thing Lucian found praiseworthy about Deus was the latter’s decision to use his automatons to form a blockade around him so he could recover without anyone interfering. After all, given his delicate state, if he were stopped midway through recovery, he would suffer another backlash.
That was right.
There was a reason Lucian could not recover immediately. He could only manifest about 60-70% of his strength because he created an essence, which led the forces he gathered to the Lower Realm.
Why did Lucian gather and send his forces to the Lower Realm?
It was because of the recent report he received about the new Dragon Lord’s sighting. Obviously, he could not allow the new Dragon Lord’s trace to disappear by ignoring his appearance. For this reason, Lucian immediately dispatched two members of his Elites and some of their forces to the Lower Realm to capture the new Dragon Lord.
Although he could have ordered those ass-kissing Sovereign in the Lower Realm to capture the new Dragon Lord, they were too incompetent. Thus, even if the strengths of his forces would be restrained upon entering the Lower Realm, Lucian chose to send them.
But that was a matter for later.
Lucian understood that his current situation could get worse if he did not focus.
Pushing other matters aside, Lucian assessed the black and gray fog almost filling the air. He found a trace of familiar energy within the fog, but could not recall where he felt it.
‘Doesn’t matter,’ Lucian thought as he glowered at a spot somewhere above.
That was the spot where the annoying mage appeared with a strange mirror.
The black and gray fog in the surroundings came out from that mirror. That much, Lucian knew, even though he had not seen it himself. He had to destroy that mirror if he wanted to remove the fog.
The mirror might be a powerful relic, but Lucian was not interested because he found it an excellent counter to his Dimension if released. It was better to destroy the mirror than take it and give others a chance to steal it.
With that in mind, Lucian gathered his magic energy and aimed his hand at the spot above.
Several hand-shaped fogs relentlessly assaulted Lucian from every direction. However, they were swiftly eliminated by his barrier.
Ignoring the hand-shaped fog, Lucian concentrated only on gathering his magic energy in his hand. Blinding light formed at the palm of his hand, and it grew in size every second.
Two seconds…
Three…
Four…
‘Now!’
Lucian’s eyes flashed as he released the concentrated magic energy on his hand.
Whooosh!
Crackle! Crackle!
Space distorted as his magic attack flew forward; the air similarly crackled from the attack’s intensity.
“Tsk,” Ruin clicked his tongue as he saw The Emperor unleash a powerful attack toward the Macabre Glacier. He instinctively raised his hand, but unfortunately, he could not muster enough magic energy to stop The Emperor’s attack.
‘Damn it! If I am in my actual body—!’
SLAAASH!
“!”
“!”
Lucian’s and Ruin’s eyes widened as they saw a reddish-purple light flash across the concentrated magic energy before it reached its target.
Sizzle! Sizzle!
The space from where the reddish-purple light passed through sizzle and a distortion formed.
FOOOM!
Following the formation of the distortion, a vacuum-like force manifested, sucking the scattered fog and concentrated magic energy inside.
GRAAAWWWWGHH!
A guttural cry echoed in the air as the distortion relentlessly sucked the fog.
“What—? No—!”
Initially stunned by the sudden events, Lucian regained his composure and was reminded of something. After that, questions fleeted through his mind like an annoying buzz.
Why did he not notice it earlier?
More importantly, how did he forget about it?
When he flew there for that one reason?
“VOID MASTER!”
A massive silhouette that blended in the dark sky moved as if in response to Lucian’s scream.
CRACKLE! CRACKLE!
Following the movement, a large hand formed, its palms wide and in the motion of pressing down toward Lucian.
Ruin shuddered at the sight of the massive figure. However, it was not out of fear but elation. Proof of that was the huge grin plastered on his face at that moment. He had seen that silhouette before, and when it appeared, it managed to pierce one of the Fates’ eyes.
‘So you were there all along?’

BOOOM!
Not one to back down from an obvious challenge, Lucian released his true form. His body exploded with a blinding light and grew in size.
WHOOOSH!
Shockwaves erupted at the amount of magic he emitted, destroying everything around him.
Ruin gritted his teeth and cast the most potent defensive spell he could. Fortunately, the anti-magic barrier from his automaton body helped alleviate the amalgamation of magic energies from the massive hand and The Emperor’s transformation.
Still, Ruin knew that he could not stay there. Although he would not die because he was using an automaton body, he felt it a waste to exit the Higher Realm if it was destroyed.
‘Get as far away as possible. Endure for now…’ Ruin thought and turned at once. After that, he focused only on retreating. ‘Ah~ such a shame… I wanted to watch… I wanted to see how he overcame this…
Obviously, there is something strange with The Emperor. An essence? No… he is definitely the real one… but he is not in his best form… Forget it.
My priority is to escape… There are still things I have to do…’
BOOOOM!
“Ngh…!” Ruin grimaced as he was swept by the aftershock that followed another massive explosion.
Without looking back— although he was tempted— Ruin guessed that that explosion was caused by the collision of the massive hand and The Emperor in his true form.
For the record, Ruin could not see The Emperor’s true form— no— rather than could not see, he should not look. Because if he did, he would be burned by the intensity of The Emperor’s Light.
From afar, if one were to look at The Emperor in his true form, one would only see a massive blinding light that had a slight semblance of a human. Even then, they would feel its majestic form.
Anyway, Ruin did not have the leisure to look. Besides, he needed to move fast. Even if he did not look at The Emperor, the magic energy exuding from him was far too strong. Ruin might still end up cooked if he could not gain enough distance. Luckily, the aftershock helped speed up his retreat. After all, he was thrown quite a great distance after the initial contact.
The following aftershocks were reduced in intensity, but it was still enough to assist in Ruin’s escape.
As Ruin gained some distance from The Emperor, he wondered about Kyran and the others.
The huge hand from the massive silhouette was definitely summoned by Kyran. At least, as far as Ruin was concerned, that was how it did in Somuli when the Fates came uninvited. However, Ruin remembered Kyran hovering just in front of the massive silhouette back then.
This time was different. Kyran was nowhere in sight. Nonetheless, Ruin was positive Kyran was the one who summoned it.
BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!
More explosions echoed behind, but Ruin did not stop to look.
‘Don’t think of anything else… Just escape!’ he thought and flew away as fast as he could.
At times like this, he missed having True Void as armor.
‘Hm?’
The thought of True Void made Ruin remember something. Because he got distracted by Deus, Ruin did not see if the Macabre Glacier succeeded in taking True Void.
And that guttural cry when the distortion appeared, that was obviously the Macabre Glacier.
‘…’
Guttural cry? Why would the Macabre Glacier let out such a cry if it regained its missing soul?
‘…!’
Ruin’s pupils constricted as he thought of a possibility.
Did the Macabre Glacier fail to take True Void?
How?
Was it Kyran?
But… how?
No matter how much Ruin tried to make sense of the guttural sound from the Macabre Glacier, he could not imagine if it had succeeded in taking True Void.
‘In the end… did it fail?’
If that was the case, what about Kyran? How come Ruin could not see him?
While doubts and confusion filled Ruin’s head, back at the place where he escaped from, Lucian, in his true form, stood amidst the destroyed inner city of the Crepuscule Auction House.
He cast Light balls one after another and aimed at the massive hand above.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
‘Why?’ he wondered, grinding his teeth in annoyance. ‘Why is it not working?’
Lucian’s attacks were able to stop the massive hand’s descent. However, it failed to penetrate through or even scratch its surface.
“The answer is nothing grand…”
A low, deep voice resounded in the air.
“!”
“Your attacks are not working because you are now inside my Dimension.”
