Legacy of the Dark Sage

Chapter 1113: Chase (27)

Kyran fell to his knees as an intense burning sensation crushed his senses. Following this, Shaiha made a whirring sound akin to a siren wailing in an emergency.

Since Shaiha could not manifest in human form, she could only communicate with Kyran through whirring sounds, as in the Lower Realm. Nevertheless, it was easy to realize from how her multi-colored body was radiating and shaking how much she was panicking at the moment.

It was obvious why she was in such a state because large cracks appeared on the surface of Kyran’s Void Core soon after the Void Dimension dominated the whole space. S~eaʀᴄh the ηovёlFire .net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Just when Kyran thought the cracks on his Void core could not get any worse, the Void magic energy that swirled inside started to leak outside his sea of consciousness and was affecting his other magic cores.

Shaiha emitted a blinding light and did her best to contain the leaking Void magic energy. Unfortunately, because of the Void’s nature, whenever her light reached it, it turned into nothingness. Moreover, when she tried to adapt her energy into something that would fit the Void, its devouring nature appeared, and her energy was absorbed.

“Aaargggh…!”

Kyran let out a muffled scream as the effects of the Void core’s cracks started to appear on his physical body. His skin was torn, and dark, purplish steam seeped out from within.

To be honest, Kyran would have gotten used to the pain of the dark, purplish steam coming out of his torn skin. Unfortunately, he had to suffer the pain of having his skin torn time and again as his improved body’s high regeneration continued to restore his skin.

Shaiha continued to emit whirring sounds.

Before, Kyran could easily discern what she wanted to say, but because he was barely keeping himself conscious of the cycle of pain his body was undergoing, he had no way of understanding what she was trying to say.

As a matter of fact, Kyran did not even notice Shaiha’s whirring sounds. He was in so much agony that nothing else was registering in his mind apart from the hellish pain.

Lucian’s expression remained calm as he stared back at the eye that peered at him through the space fissure.

Geir and the rest of the Blade Dancer executives and house leaders, on the other hand, reeled back in fear. The immense pressure coming from the eye within the fissure was too much for them. Their defenses as High Sovereigns could not even stand against its overwhelming amount of magic energy.

“…You are not the black mage I met in the Land of Desolation,” Lucian continued as he calmly gazed at the eye. “That human barely knew how to use the Void…”

His eyes narrowed as an intense light of zeal covered his pupils. Following that, a smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

“…But you are different. You know how to use the Void… Who are you…?”

Before he could finish what he was saying, a soundless pressure fell down from above as if wanting to crush anything and everything below.

Geir and the rest of the Blade Dancer executives and house leaders spat out a mouthful of blood, their magic defenses shattering upon contact with the pressure.

Surprisingly, the array formation in the cities did not seem to be affected by the pressure. Although the mages below, who did not escape or take cover and decided to watch the confrontation happening above, still felt the intensity of the pressure. They felt their insides churn, but at most, they only fell on their knees from the pressure’s attack.

Lucian did not take his eyes off the eye peering from the fissure. However, he still noticed that apart from him, Geir, and the other Blade Dancer clan members, none of the mages below was affected by the pressure the same way as they were.

Lucian did not spit out blood like Geir and the rest. But he still felt a slight sting on his skin.

“It seems you do not want to indulge my curiosity…” he started as his magic energy started to rise amidst the influence of the Void Dimension.

To be honest, apart from the overwhelming pressure that seemed to affect Lucian, Geir, and the rest of the Blade Dancers, Lucian could not comprehend what the Void Dimension’s effect was.

Normally, when a mage summoned a Dimension, that mage set certain rules within the Dimension’s influence and overwhelmed the mages inside.

In this regard, the Void Dimension’s overwhelming pressure could be said to be doing just that. But if that were the only effect it had, then Lucian would be disappointed. Besides, apart from feeling a stinging sensation on his skin, he was barely affected by it.

He did admit feeling shocked by the Void Dimension and the eyes within the fissure’s appearance. But this should not be all there was to it, right?

Lucian looked at Ruin and said, “What kind of plot are you cooking, Azazel? Where did you find this being?”

Ruin, who had stood back after the Void Dimension covered the whole space, smiled innocently at Lucian and replied, “Whatever are you saying? I did not find this guy… rather, he followed me?”

His expression then turned sober as his smile disappeared, “But even in front of an Ancient Magic user’s Dimension, you appear calm. You can even rouse your magic energy even when inside the influence of another mage’s Dimension.”

“You say some amusing things, Azazel. Did you think that the appearance of a being possessing Ancient Magic will deter me?”

As Lucian said this, his magic pressure erupted once more, and the Void Dimension that covered the whole surroundings trembled.

Even the eye that peered from the fissure narrowed as if the being behind it was surprised at Lucian’s strength.

“I am the most powerful mage in the Higher Realm. Do not belittle my authority.”

The light of zeal contained within Lucian’s pupil exploded as his whole body emitted a blinding light.

Geir and the rest of the Blade Dancer members paled upon seeing this.

“Y-Your Majesty, please!”

They tried to plead with him yet again.

But.

“Divinity Form.”

Lucian’s voice was gentle. Yet it shook the whole plane and shattered the Void Dimension in one fell swoop.

Ruin’s eyes widened in shock, and he immediately summoned his borrowed body’s energy. A spherical magic barrier powered by Void magic energy appeared around him, protecting himself from the explosion of magic aura and pressure coming from Lucian’s release of his true form.

Geir and the rest of the Blade Dancer members also released their true form and used their treasures to distance themselves from Lucian.

The space around Lucian crackled and shattered as his body, which was covered in divine light, grew in size.

Cracks also appeared in the cities below as the array formations, unaffected by the Void Dimension’s pressure, shattered like fragile glasses.

Bodies of low-level Sovereigns that did not take cover or escape burst from the intensity of the magic energy coming out of Lucian’s true form.

Geir, the Blade Dancer executives, and the house leaders returned to the main mansion and activated its Grand Array Formation. Although they already knew it would be futile to defend against The Emperor’s pressure now that he had unleashed his true form, they still held on to the hope that they could save even a fifth of their clan members.

At that point, Geir, along with most of the executives and house leaders, had already given up trying to save the whole plane. What mattered to them was allowing some of their members to survive. They would likely be removed under the Solis Clan’s faction, but that was fine.

As Lucian’s body continued to grow, the eye peering out from the fissure appeared to be looking at something. Its pupils constricted and trembled. But the next moment, it turned tranquil as the sea as its trembling earlier had been an illusion.

Following this, the eye started to close, and the fissure responded by shrinking.

“You are not getting anywhere!”

Lucian’s voice boomed like thunder as a streak of light flashed toward the shrinking fissure.

The space at which the light passed through was split apart, creating a distortion. The land and sea below were no better as they split and were destroyed by the pressure from the streak of light.

FOOOM!

SIZZLE! SIZZLE!

However, a dark purple magic array appeared right in the middle of the path where the streak of light was passing through.

CRACKLE! CRACKLE!

The streak of light collided with the magic array and the space crackled at the amount of magic fluctuation from the two magic energies.

By then, Lucian’s body had already grown to the size that engulfed a quarter of the plane.

Seeing that his magic attack would be countered by the magic array, he reached out a hand that was covered in divine light and crushed the space around the fissure.

CRACKLE! CRACKLE!

BOOOM!

A massive explosion occurred as the magic array, along with the fissure, exploded from Lucian’s hand.

The amount of magic energy that erupted from the collision was too much for the plane to handle, and the land, sea, and sky shattered.

A blinding light followed as a quarter of the plane was destroyed in that small impact.

The shockwave that followed from that collision spread out, destroying the rest of the cities and killing all the mages that failed to escape. In fact, there were those who tried to hide and were still escaping that got caught by the aftershock and killed in an instant.

Meanwhile, Geir, the executes, and house leaders waited as the shockwave approached the main mansion.

With bated breaths, they awaited for their fate.

CRAAAASH!

The Grand Array Formation could not even withstand the aftershock’s intensity was shattered in an instant.
