The next day’s meeting was nothing out of the ordinary. A bunch of ugly guys gathering together—obviously the topic would be about which girl was the prettiest.

“Come on Luocheng, aren’t you done texting? Who are you texting anyway?” Qiu Jingtai said, walking over to him with his face curved up in a lecherous smile.

“Nobody,” Yu Luocheng replied. “What do you want?”

“Who do you think is prettier, Bai Feifei or Zhou Meizi?” Qiu Jingtai asked.

Yu Luocheng hesitated, wondering how he even knew their names. Then again, there weren’t many girls in the engineering class, and there were only two girls who were eye-catching enough to stand out. Those two must be the ones that Qiu Jingtai had just mentioned. Yu Luocheng had been busy texting so he didn’t really pay much attention to it, but it looked like the main topic was about the two girls.

“Come on, who is better?” Qiu Jingtai asked again.

Yu Luocheng had only caught a glimpse of the girls the last time they had gathered, and he couldn’t remember who was who in the first place.

“Zhou Meizi, I guess.” He answered, choosing one of the names randomly, and then turned his attention back to his phone, wondering how to reply to his goddess on the other end instead.

In the past few days, they had been texting frequently. It was as though they needed to text a few sentences every other hour, and if they were free, their response rate would be faster. Or maybe the topic they were on was easy to talk about.

“Oh.” Qiu Jingtai nodded, laughing lightly.

Yu Luocheng frowned as he realized that Qiu Jingtai and several other of his roommates were laughing, and he was confused.

“Feifei, let’s change places. Sitting by the window would be better.” A voice came from behind him.

“Alright.” Another soft voice answered coldly.

You could hear the two girls moving behind, judging from the sounds he heard. Yu Luocheng turned his head quickly, seeing that the girls had already switched positions, and the other girl beside her was shooting a glare at him.

His face darkened. A few of the guys were laughing, unable to hold back, while some of them patted his shoulder in sympathy. A few even gave him a thumbs up.

“F*ck, you couldn’t have told me they were behind me?” Yu Luocheng said angrily.

“We all knew they were behind us, you were the only one too busy texting,” Qiu Jingtai said. “How were we to know that you would say Zhou Meizi?”

“F*ck off!” Yu Luocheng growled, kicking out his foot toward Qiu Jingtai’s.

It was said that once roommates got to know each other well enough, they would start all kinds of trouble for you. For someone who had only just gotten to know each other for two days, he still dared to pull this kind of trick.

Meanwhile, the girl who donned a blue sleeveless dress gazed out the window—looking at the surroundings of the campus.

“These guys really have nothing better to do.” The girl who was wearing a pink hairband seated beside her said.

“Agreed.” Bai Feifei nodded her head.

“That guy really doesn’t have any taste. Just dressing like this and he said that this is better? I still think you look so much better,” the girl continued.

Zhou Meizi had arrived earlier and had already familiarized herself with the guys. Bai Feifei had arrived later, and while she was stunning, it was such a pity that she didn’t like to socialize much. There were already a few brave guys who had approached her, but she had merely given them some polite responses.

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” Bai Feifei replied instead.

The other girl was obviously biased against Zhou Meizi, even from her observation, Bai Feifei was able to tell.

The lecturer spoke a few words and then the students began their self-introduction. Yu Luocheng was still busy texting his goddess so he ignored the introductions around him.

“Yu Luocheng, it’s almost your turn. What’s with you, man, aren’t you done texting?” Qiu Jingtai nudged him. “With whom?”

Yu Luocheng stowed his phone away upon the reminder. Everyone was busy wondering what to say in the self-introduction but he was thinking about the last text his goddess had sent to him. Did she want to go to Hangzhou in October alone, or didn’t she?

Walking up to the podium, he faced the students of about two hundred in numbers. Yu Luocheng was used to standing in front of crowds so he casually said a few words calmly and then walked down.

“That guy’s name is Yu Luocheng, remember it,” the girl wearing the pink hairband said.

Bai Feifei spared Yu Luocheng a glance, her expression indifferent. After Yu Luocheng’s introduction, it wasn’t long before it was Zhou Meizi’s turn. She was popular and highly sought after. She also seemed to have quite a bit of experience addressing crowds. Her words were clear and concise, her smile filled with confidence, and even the lecturers were nodding their heads in approval of her speech. It was obvious who was going to be the class representative.

Yu Luocheng also stared at the beautiful girl, thinking that she was not bad. However, Yu Luocheng felt that the other girl was better. Bai Feifei’s beauty was purer, her skin fair like snow, and her figure definitely had more curves. There was also no makeup on her face. Zhou Meizi’s beauty was basically painted on with make-up whilst her body was nothing to look at compared to her.

Once orientation was done, everyone went back to their own dormitories. On the way back, there were some who were still laughing at Yu Luocheng’s misfortune. Yu Luocheng was silent on the matter and he continued his texting.

Just as he arrived in his room, his phone rang. Yu Luocheng’s heart skipped, thinking that it was surely his goddess that was calling. She had something that she had to say to him, and he had something he definitely had to tell her too!

“Brother!” A feminine voice came through the phone.

Yu Luocheng felt as if a bucket of cold water had been dumped on him, the joyous feeling evaporating instantly.

“Oh, it’s you,” Yu Luocheng said dejectedly. “What do you want?”

“You sound like you’re disappointed to hear my voice, I’ll just hang up now,” Yu Yu said, pouting.

“Yeah, sleep early.” Yu Luocheng nodded in agreement.

“You bastard!” Yu Yu exclaimed.

“I’m joking.” Yu Luocheng hurriedly said. “Can’t take a joke anymore now that you’re grown up?”

“How’s university?” Yu Yu asked instead, her tone softening.

“It’s alright. Just my luck to have some asshole roommates.” Yu Luocheng replied.

“Oh, so you’re in the dorm already.”

“What about you, done with your competition?” Yu Luocheng asked.

“Yeah, I got first place!” Yu Yu said happily.

“How many were competing?”

“What are you implying?! I competed in the nationals youth category in the competition!”

“Alright, alright. Congratulations.”
