Last Gun Alchemist
Chapter 721 Gun Series Naming
After Ezra left the Mix Arena...
He left Lucy and Cyrus to head home first after they dropped him off at the First-Year Private Workshop & Seclusion Facility.
He had already booked a time slot in one of the workshops, and with enough time still available, Ezra didn’t want to waste the money he had spent reserving the room.
Of course...
The money he had earned from the sales of his firearms and gadgets had changed his financial situation quite a bit.
The Ashenlocke family was mass-producing the firearms and gadgets he had designed, and he received a percentage of the sales from each of them.
His finances were already far beyond what they had been when he received the payment for selling the rights to the Phantom Rolls.
There was also the money he earned from the sales of the Colt 1911 and the E-V 26 MK.II.
Compared to what he had possessed before, his current finances were on an entirely different level.
He even had the anonymous investments he had made, which were doing well.
But...
Ezra was still the type of person who hated wasting money.
It wasn’t as though he had suddenly developed an interest in spending simply because he had more than enough to do so.
He still paid attention to what he purchased and whether he would get proper use out of it.
He hadn’t even changed his Starlix 11 all this while.
For him, having money didn’t mean he needed to spend it without a reason.
As for Cyrus...
He went back home, even though he had considered using the opportunity to work in the workshop on the automated Toy creation he and Ezra had previously discussed.
They were already working on the formation of Alchemy Systems for programming of the actions a miniature Toy vehicle could perform through a controller.
The idea was to make it function like an actual vehicle, rather than having it move around as a simple Toy.
There was still work to be done on the programming.
They needed to establish the actions the miniature vehicle could perform and how those actions would respond to the controller.
Cyrus was particularly interested in the project.
He already had a business idea he could launch with the help of his uncle, who ran the Toy shop Ezra had visited in Toy City.
Wendy and Ralph Toy Craft.
The shop could provide him with a way to bring the idea into the market, and with Ezra’s help in communicating with The Eclipse, he could also get a contract signed to obtain the rights to create a Toy version of the Phantom Rolls.
It was an opportunity worth considering.
However, Britannia’s business economy wasn’t as simple as coming up with an idea, creating a product, and selling it.
There were contracts, shares, and the rights to the creation itself to consider.
Depending on how the agreement was arranged, Cyrus could end up giving away a large portion of what he stood to earn.
In fact, he might not even retain the rights to his own creation.
That was how strict the business economy could be.
Fortunately, Cyrus was quite lucky to know the kind of people his uncle and aunt were.
He had a good understanding of their personalities, which made him less worried about dealing with them over the business.
There was also The Eclipse.
They wouldn’t want to offend Ezra, especially considering his relationship with the people involved.
That alone could make negotiations easier for Cyrus.
Still, there was no guarantee that everything would go exactly as he wanted.
He would have to be careful about the agreement.
But instead of commencing his work, he left with Lucy, because today was his usual no-work or movement day.
The only reason he had been out was his curiosity about how Ezra would handle the whole issue in front of him.
And now that he had seen it...
Cyrus was going back home to laze around, listen to music, and sleep peacefully.
The opportunity to work on the Toy project could wait.
As for Lucy...
She left to continue her cooking practice with the other recipes her Master had given her to learn.
Many of them were healthy vegetables mixed with protein to create different classes of food, along with the other uniquely shaped ingredients he had shown her.
She still had plenty to practice with.
Ezra had bought her several ingredients to work with, and she intended to make proper use of them.
It wasn’t enough to know what each ingredient was.
She also needed to understand how to prepare them and combine them into something worth serving.
Cooking was another skill she wanted to improve.
All three had their own things to do.
Meanwhile, the other students remained focused on the ongoing debate in the Mix Arena.
The program continued, with the remaining candidates taking their turns before the gathered students.
The questions and speeches that followed Ezra’s departure were left for those still competing for the position.
Hours passed...
By the time the sun had gone down, the streets and buildings of the Academy had taken on the appearance of evening.
The Royal Phantom Rolls drove into the area outside the First-Year Private Workshop and Seclusion Facility.
Lucy was behind the wheel.
After bringing the vehicle to a stop, she opened the door on her side and looked towards the facility.
"I’m here, Master."
She said brightly.
Ezra soon appeared, holding a suitcase in his right hand.
Lucy looked at him first, then her gaze moved towards the case.
"Master, is that it?"
She asked excitedly.
Her attention remained fixed on the suitcase as she waited for his answer.
"It’s not yet done."
Ezra replied plainly.
He walked towards the vehicle.
Lucy was about to walk towards him and open the passenger door for him, but Ezra reached it first.
He opened it himself and entered, placing the suitcase on the other seat.
Lucy watched him settle in before returning her attention to the driver’s position.
"Is it that hard to make?"
She asked curiously.
"It’s not too hard."
Ezra replied calmly.
Lucy closed his door and walked around the vehicle to the driver’s seat.
"I just didn’t have time to complete it."
He added.
The workshop session had allowed him to make progress, but he hadn’t managed to finish what he had set out to create.
There was still work remaining, and he would have to continue another time.
Lucy settled behind the wheel.
"Honestly, I can’t wait to see the firearm you want to create. It will be just as strong as the other ones you’ve already made..."
She started the steam engine.
The Royal Phantom Rolls gave a low mechanical rumble as the engine came to life. Lucy checked the controls before placing her hands on the steering wheel.
"What did you call the series again, Master? I still think the E-Series would be cool, but that name you told me is also cool too."
She said excitedly.
Her words came out freely.
She had been curious about the new firearm and the dual katanas he was making for her for some time, and the thought of seeing another of her master’s creations was enough to keep her talking.
Ezra looked ahead as the vehicle began moving.
"I have been considering that, actually."
He replied, sounding faintly thoughtful.
"The E-Cyber Series or the E-C Series, although your idea does have a nice rhythm to it."
He said calmly.
Lucy immediately smiled.
"I know, right? I’m quite the expert at naming."
She flaunted her hair with a proud smile while keeping her hands on the steering wheel.
Ezra didn’t offer any further comment.
The Royal Phantom Rolls continued along the quiet roads of the Academy, moving towards the First-Year Academy Residential District.
Unlike the Mix Arena, where the debate had kept students gathered for hours, the roads along their route were calm.
The day’s activities were coming to an end, and the students who had finished their business were gradually returning to their residences.
The Royal Phantom Rolls passed through the Academy grounds before reaching the East Wing.
Once they arrived at their residence, Ezra went straight to freshen up.
The suitcase he had brought from the workshop was no longer in his hand by the time he settled into his usual evening routine.
Lucy, meanwhile, had already prepared his food before leaving to pick him up.
She warmed it again before serving him.
Ezra ate without taking too long.
After finishing his meal, he didn’t spend the rest of the evening doing anything in particular.
He went to sleep early.
He had something to handle the following day.
His plan was to visit Diane’s residence and collect the materials from her.
He had been unable to get them earlier because Diane kept forgetting to bring them.
He had also noticed that Hermione was deliberately avoiding bringing the materials to the Academy’s Main Building.
And Lucy was in on it as well.
Which could only mean that Vera had a big hand in this.
It wasn’t difficult to work out what was happening.
Diane kept forgetting, Hermione wasn’t bringing the materials, and even Lucy appeared to be part of the arrangement.
It was clear that Vera wanted him to come to the West Wing.
Where practically all the Flowers of their year lived, along with some of the most popular ladies and a few well-known young men from their year.
People like Ravenor Burnwick and Starke Drakes lived there as well.
Ezra had no particular reason to visit the West Wing apart from collecting the materials.
However, with the way things had been arranged, it was becoming increasingly clear that Vera wanted him to make the trip himself.
So, he would have to deal with it tomorrow.

As the sun rose...
Ezra was already on the streets of the East Wing, as usual, with Cyrus beside him.
The two jogged all the way to the gym center of the wing before beginning their usual training.
The morning air was still cool, and the streets were quieter than they would be later in the day.
A few students were already moving around the residential district, while others were making their way towards their own morning activities.
Ezra and Cyrus continued along their usual route.
Their pace remained steady as they made their way to the gym center.
Neither of them needed to discuss where they were going.
It was part of their regular routine, and they had done it enough times to know what to expect from each other.
Once they arrived, they began their usual training.
Of course...
Students’ eyes were on Ezra as usual.
However, the looks he received had returned to the quiet admiration and respect he was accustomed to.
They were different from the visibly complicated gazes he had been receiving before.
It wasn’t that everyone had put the article about him behind their minds.
There were still students who looked at him with caution, and a few wary gazes could still be noticed whenever he passed by.
But they were faint now.
They weren’t as clear or as visible as before.
At least, that Chapter had closed.
At least...
For now.
