Chapter 86 How Did It Get Here? [Bonus]
Everything was pitch black, with the only light source being the big silver moon and stars in the sky. Figures covered in black mantles blending with the night stood guard around the herd of animals, slowly walking circles around the perimeter.
Vesuvius was flapping his wings observing everything from the sky, his slightly glowing dragon eyes easily piercing through the all-covering darkness.
Groups of red dots were moving on the ground, quietly running in circles without any apparent goal in their mind.
‘So they really are attracted to light.’
Suddenly he noticed that one group of red eyes was quickly moving in the direction of his minions, their black spikes hiding them.
‘Damn this, but they should be able to easily take care of one small pack.’
Suddenly a loud howl pierced through the night, and in response, more howls echoed from every direction, all of the red eyes moving towards the players’ camp.
The red eyes reached the camp, small flashes of light flickering on the ground next to them.
A small amount of XP started to fill his bar, ‘So they are already fighting. I need to create a diversion.’
The dragon tilted his wings, quickly diving towards the ground as the orange light flickered in his wide-open mouth. A stream of magma erupted out, splashing on the stones terrace under him. An orange glow immediately illuminated the surroundings.
Suddenly most of the red dots changed their direction, loud howls shattering the silence of the night as the dots started to run towards the spilled magma.
Vesuvius grinned, letting droplets of magma leak out of his mouth, ‘At least I can farm some XP while attracting most of the wolves to me.’
Suddenly a sound of flapping came from his side. A massive vulture with pitch black feathers reflecting moonlight with their metallic lustre. Its eyes were glowing in bright neon red light that was bright as flashlights, creating red beams of red light. Its size was humongous, easily reaching that of a small truck. Its long curved claws were hanging from its legs, menacingly swinging in flight. Red sparks were flickering around its shiny curved crimson red beak.
‘How did you get here? This makes no sense as I am sure that I would see your glowing eyes and giant body from miles away.’
Suddenly it opened its beak, and sparks of red energy passed through its feathers and launched out of its beaks, forming a concentrated neon red beam.
The dragon immediately tilted his wings, rolling in the air, the beam passing by his side. However, another bright beam immediately illuminated the sky, heading towards the dragon.
Vesuvius, with his heavy body, couldn’t dodge, so he just braced for the impact. The red beam pierced through the sky, reaching the dragon in a red flash. Suddenly the amulet on the dragon glowed, and a barrier looking like flames formed in front of the beam.
The beam collided with the barrier, bright light illuminating the sky as colourful sparks fell to the ground.

The vulture flapped its wings, red energy sparking around them as waves of neon red launched out, passing through the sky and impacting all over the dragon.
Red flashed across the sky as the red energy covered the dragon’s black volcanic armour, slowly eating at it like acid.
Vesuvius had enough of it, his eyes flickering in anger at the miniboss’s audacity, “How dare you question my superiority in the air?”. He simply couldn’t tolerate someone ambushing him in the air; that was supposed to be his domain.
The dragon flapped his wings, launching forwards, the air screeching around him while orange light flickered in his throat with the square of magical symbols forming in his mouth. A thin ray of magma blasted out of his mouth, creating a glowing orange-gold line across the night sky.
The vulture glowed in red, the thick-looking red energy pouring out of its body, forming a glowing glass-like red layer around its whole body.
The ray of magma hit against the vulture, red and orange light violently pulsing where it met with the red barrier, sparks flying everywhere.
The vulture flapped its wings, tilting them and making a spiral through the air, winds surging around its aerodynamically shaped body. The dragon kept flapping his massive wings, blasting behind the birds with a glowing ray of magma streaking across the sky, impacting against the red barrier.
Two beasts were flapping their massive wings, piercing through the sky while maneuvering around like fighters in a dogfight.
The thin ray of magma kept blasting against the red transparent barrier, cracks spreading over its surface, but it remained firmly holding. The droplets of magma were raining everywhere as the rays of orange kept flashing through the sky, colouring it orange and red.
Suddenly the vulture flapped its wings, making a flip in the air. Its beak ignited in bright red light, and a ray of red energy launched out, blasting toward the dragon flying straight into it.
Vesuvius’s eyes went wide at the unexpected maneuver of the vulture as he closed his mouth, the glowing ray of magma vanishing from the air. He quickly folded his wings behind his back to protect them as the red beam streaked through the air, closing on him at an incredible speed while radiating neon red light.
The red beam struck the dragon into its armoured chest, drilling through the hard black rock, sparks of neon red flying in all directions. Cracks spread in every direction from where the beam impacted the armour as it continued to drill towards the black dragon scales at the bottom.
Suddenly the dragon’s horns crackled, dozens of blue and gold electrical sparks flying around them. Massive blue arcs of electricity with paths of gold in the centre struck across the sky, hitting the vulture. Its whole body flashed in purple light as the blue and red mixed together. Soon loud thunderclap followed, drumming through the night as the neon red barrier started to flicker, making the vulture stop its own beam, reinforcing its collapsing barrier.
‘It is almost destroyed!’
Vesuvius opened his mouth once again, ignoring the glowing red hole in his armour and pain surging through his chest. A thick stream of magma erupted out, crossing the distance towards the shaken vulture. At the same time, mana poured through the dragon’s veins, gathering at his horns as tendrils of lightning erupted out, moving along the stream.
A stream of magma with tendrils of lightning running along it flew across the sky, once again illuminating everything in orange.
The magma and electrical tendrils kept banging against the red barrier, creating blinding fireworks in the sky.
Finally, massive cracks appeared and in the next moment whole barrier shattered, turning into thousands of red shards.
The magma crackling with electricity passed through, enveloping the culture in glowing golden-red liquid with electrical sparks flying out of it, its body evaporating in an instant.
