Last Egg: Reincarnated as a Dragon in a Game

Chapter 532: The meeting before the reckoning

His blazing wings folded, the dragon hovered within the golden radiance of his divine kingdom. Rivers of golden coins flowed beneath him, gleaming under the star’s glow. With eyes as sharp as a predator’s, he watched the fallen angel, the demonic dragon, and the angel, all floating before him, suspended mid-air, seemingly defying gravity.

With the angels’ inexplicable retreat, Vesuvius dragged his unexpected allies to his divine kingdom. He wanted answers—answers to all the shit that was happening around him. He fought and waged war against ancient beings, yet, seemingly lacked the information to even grasp what they wanted.

Gathering all the power in his voice cords, the immeasurable energy of his stars flowing through him, he spoke, “I am part of this war! I want answers! I want to know everything!”

His aura burned brighter, pushing against the trio before him. He needed to show his dominance and that he was ready to get his answers. The three auras flared as well, the three forces crashing, sending ripples across the burning surface of the star below. No one spoke, the four powers crashing against each other in a silent standoff.

“Say, Vesuvius, what do you know about our family?” Satanael’s voice shattered the serene silence, a cacophony of demonic tones emanating from all his heads. Vesuvius, at a loss for words, delved into his inherited memories. His eyes, pulsing with light, searched desperately but found nothing relevant.

He knew of the dragon god and his siblings, but that was all. The thought gnawed at him, feeling like a gap that shouldn’t be there.

Satanael’s many eyes glinted with amusement as he noticed Vesuvius’s struggle. “Nothing, of course, nothing. Our ancestor, the dragon god, erased it, believing the knowledge was too dangerous for younger dragons.”

Vesuvius remained silent, sensing he was close to uncovering something significant. The void, the gods, and the balance races—everything was too confusing.

“The truth is obvious, young dragon. If there are siblings, then there—”

Vesuviuf finished up, his eyes brightening, “is a parent.” It now felt obvious. He even felt dumb for never questioning it.

“Do not interrupt me!” Satanael growled, his irritation making his flames brighter. He continued, “Genesis is the name of our ancestors, and they are gone. They are gone the same way Father of angels and demons, their older sibling is, and the same way as the madness incarnate, Purity, their young sibling is gone.”

Vesuvius contemplated, realizing something more shocking than he ever thought, ‘So all the balance races are a one big dysfunctional family.’

“Void, the eldest, has, however, awakened. I thought it was just momentarily, but I’m afraid they didn’t fall back asleep.” This time, Lucifer spoke, his calm, angelically beautiful face disturbed. Vesuvius would have thought the devil himself was scared if he didn’t know better. He couldn’t comprehend why—even though he never met Void, it helped him with his ascension; it couldn’t be so bad.

Lucifer’s tone shifted, becoming more didactic. “Void came first, then souls, then the material world, and at last, purity. This is the order in which the world came to be,”

Lucifer’s gaze flickered for a moment as he looked at Vesuvius. “We fought side by side, dragon. You tried to help me free my siblings, and I, Morningstar, will never forget. Consider this an early warning before the end of everything. In the end, everything will return to the void. Only divine kingdoms and a couple of special worlds, Lorenia included, will survive.” S~eaʀᴄh the ηovelFire.ηet website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Light flashed, and the fallen angel and his siblings vanished, leaving behind the demonic dragon, growling, “If you have something precious stashed outside, move it here, void-king, for in the end, it will all be for naught.”

The seven-headed dragon spread his wings, shadows and crimson flames crawling up their bodies. Seeing Satanael preparing to vanish, Vesuvius quickly spoke, the last question burning in his mind: “Why this world? What is special about it? Why all the conflicts for it?”

It was something he couldn’t comprehend. He, not even a god, had the power to obliterate entire worlds if he wished. At the same time, he had witnessed the vastness of the cosmos. What was the point of all these almighty beings fighting over this single world when there were countless others?

“Why are you asking me?” The sin of wrath growled, seemingly annoyed, the raging crimson inferno intensifying. Yet, Vesuvius persisted, wanting the answer more than he feared a fight against the demonic dragon, “There is no one else to ask. Everyone schemes, lies, and keeps their own agendas. I doubt you, the sin of wrath, would care for something like that.”

The demon’s voice lowered, a dangerous edge to his words. “You are right. I would never lower myself to scheme like a lowly bug! I, the king of fire and wrath, will burn everything in my path. I might as well humor you.”

“This world is the bottom of reality, its thickest and densest point. Why do you think it is filled with all those so-called dungeons? All those fragments of time and space are attracted here, the point from which reality initially expanded.”

Vesuvius’s mind raced as he absorbed the information. ‘So, everything converges here because it’s the origin point. But why is it so fiercely contested?’

The demon dragon’s eyes flickered with something akin to respect. “You might be strong, but before Void, even gods are nothing but worms. To stop Void, Father of angels and Genesis had to work together, forging this tiny cloud of existence within the endless void.”

The demon dragon burst into flames, vanishing with only his last sentence resounding, “Fear Void, as there is now nothing to keep it in check now. They are ancient, and their mind is crooked and eldritch.”

Vesuvius remained silent, contemplating with a bit of fear in his two hearts. He couldn’t yet defeat a god, and now, something worse has come. A single thought lingered, ‘Can I speak with Void? I can travel to the void, and I am a void king.’
