Last Egg: Reincarnated as a Dragon in a Game

Chapter 447 Not Alone?

Just as Vesuvius wanted to rage at the cruel twist of fate, something changed. The thick, white clouds formed far in the distance. The howling winds reach throughout the entire countryside and spread over kilometers. The glow of the flames in the distance flickered out…

Then dozens of lights flashed beyond the horizon as electrical arcs sparked in the spinning tempest clouds.

‘Was I wrong? Did, the storm god also attack?’

A familiar yet still threatening aura reached him. It was the draconic aura of the ancient dracowyrm.

‘No, why am I despairing! I have spent so much effort and time building and strengthening my forces. I am not alone.’ Only now that his shock and panic from the sudden attack had subsided could he think calmly about the situation.

The dragon’s eyes zoomed like a pair of binoculars onto the streets of a nearby town.

The living and walking mass of the stone marched down a street, creating holes in the road with each of its heavy steps, accompanied by shaking and thundering thuds. Then the burning rays of fire flashed within the dust clouds and drew lines across the entire street.

The stone road melted under them, and then they struck the elemental all over its boulder-like chest. Droplets of molten stone rained down, and gaping holes with their edges still glowing red from the heat opened in the stone body.

It staggered, before collapsing to the ground, like a pile of rocks.

An entire squad of kobolds, covered in their black armor, marched out, the crystals on the tips of their polearms still glowing with the residual mana.

Vesuvius’s eyes darted from street to street and from village to village. His forces took their arms everywhere he could see, fighting against the enemies after the sudden ambush.

‘I don’t have to be everywhere. I have my kin and minions.’ After years of fighting alone, he missed the growth of his armies and vassals. What he felt was only a pride akin to a parent seeing their children grow up and become successful.

Even though his empire was burning, it was fighting back against the attackers.

“Graaah!” Vesuvius growled with a renewed vigor and improved mood, and thousands of spinning magic arrays materialized around him, turning the sky starry.

POV Booba:

Booba stood in a castle yard in his dark armor and runic spear. The cracks in its walls are still reminders of the recent attack.

Dozens of players stood around him with grins and smirks plastered on their faces. Their weapons were drawn threateningly.

“Hahaha, look, our territory is cleared and safe.”

“Look on the horizon! There is a giant elemental rampaging.”

Distant explosions constantly accompanied the tall stone monstrosity far in the distance, protecting its head against the constant barrage of projectiles raining on it from every direction.

“Why should I care? XP, quests? They are nothing, compared to this town. I and my guild will focus on protecting what is ours, but don’t expect me to make a risky move and potentially leave my own territory unprotected.”

‘Those idiots, they are showing their muscles as they think they are the strongest, even though they were just lucky for only a few enemies appearing here.’ He could only quietly sight as the luck of some people.𝑜𝓋𝐞𝗅xt.𝚘𝑀

“As a military officer and official imperial knight, I order you to grab your weapons and fight!”

The muscular and blad leader stared at him, showing his sharpened teeth in a wide grin, “No, do not listen to him. You can take your authority and wipe your ass with it.”

“Hahaha!” An explosion of laughter from every single player in the yard followed.

“How dare you?!” Anger ignited within him. He hated their smugness and ungratefulness.

The bald leader raised his fist, and silence fell upon the square. “Look, your entire empire is crumbling. Nothing from your authority will remain in a few days.”

‘So, this is how is it. They don’t want to fight because they want the central government to weaken. They leech upon the benefits of being a landlord, but when it comes to giving back they let us burn.’ He wasn’t the sharpest tool in a shed, but even he realized the politicking of his fellow player.s

Booba raised his spear with a fury, and the air became warmer, with its tip shining like a small blue star.

“Are you sure you have time for this?” Unfazed, the bald leader pointed at the stone monstrosity in the distance with his mace.

‘This piece of shit… Just wait I will return.’

“Look up!” Someone shouted, and like a silver light, a draconic beast encased in armor, shiny as silver, descended like a meteor from the sky, bright green flames burning around them. The clouds and rain followed in their tracks, making it look like the entire sky was crumbling and falling.

Then a bright green ray drew a long line between the beast’s mouth and the walking mountain of stone.

Everyone bathed their breaths, silently staring at the scene of two raid bosses fighting nearby.

The green light blinded them, and sounds of banging and breaking stone resounded with such a ferocity the nearby houses shook in the foundation.

Finally, the light vanished, leaving behind only the wyrm hovering above the plains and the elemental cut in half, as if with a laser cutter. With a bang, the two halves collapsed to the ground and raised dust clouds.

All the players paled and looked with visible fear at Boobas black armor of an imperial draconic knight.

“We will attack. Our duty towards the emperor is more important than our selfish goals.”

“What about the things you have just said?” He didn’t lose the grip of his spear, as he refused to just leave the cowards and possible traitors to get away scoff-free.

“Hahaha, sir, don’t be like that. It was just a joke. Am I right, guys?”

“Yes, boss, we were just joking around… how could betray our country.”

Booba turned and swiftly walked away.

He turned to look back one last time, “I will remember this.”

‘There is no place for people like you. For now, you can fight. However, your sins will be not forgotten.’

POV Vesuvius:

Thousands of burning blades rained from the sky, magic runes spinning and orbiting around them. They flew down, leaving behind fiery lines as they accurately hit their targets and exploded in infernal fireworks like homing rockets.

At once, all the elementals, as far as the dragon could see, were dead. The smoke rising from the craters left after them.

‘Still no noble elementals.’
