Last Egg: Reincarnated as a Dragon in a Game

Chapter 346 The Seraph

(AN: Personally I think, this is one of the best action scenes I ever wrote :D)

Billions of glowing ice shards roared and soared through the sky, each shining as if they contained a star frozen within them.

The mountain range rumbled and shook as the cursed energy gathered and moved. The snow shook and streamed down in a massive white flood.

“Purity shall be upheld! No, one will defy my sacrifice to slay the evil dragon!” The tattered, frozen body of the angel rose from death.

Its shiny white armor and robes were tattered and filled with holes and cracks, with frosty light leaking from them.

It was huge, with all the ice from the lake gathering towards it, patching its holes, and covering it in the shiny armor of ice and light.

The nine pairs of wings of ice and light shined on its back, shoulders, and even legs. The wings were everywhere, with thousands of eyes opening on them and glowing like small stars.

The angel was only as big as a ten-floor building, but its body burned with power.đť‘śđť—Źxt.đť—‡t

Vesuvius felt it was only temporary as the energy of the undead angel was fading away, ‘They are dead. Only their sheer zealotry forces them to fight. They will die soon, but my body is also breaking down! I need to finish this, and fast!’

“Grraaaah!” The angel let out a shiver-inducing banshee-like scream that made the lands shake.

Ding!

It raised its armored hand, and the ground burst open as a huge sword forged out of metal that looked like a starry sky, its cracked blade patched with light and ice, flew out, heading into the angel’s awaiting hand.

“Purifier!” The runes engraved on its blade contained powerful enchantment but also spelled the sword’s name.

‘Weird, I remember you were fiery last time, but now you control ice… no, you just control the light… but the light that was frozen….’

Vesuvius hoped the ice dragon would also burst from the lake, but nothing happened, making Vesuvius realize the inheritance process prevented them from helping.

The dragon didn’t wait anymore as the horns and runes on his body flared up in a stream of mana.

He felt the immense energy and amount of mana flow into his body from his personal world, domain, and curse covering the mountains. He felt the nearly limitless power surge in his veins.

At once, both the dragon and the angel flapped their wings, sonic booms cracking the ground under them and pushing back all the clouds away, cleaning the sky in the blink of an eye.

The magic circles and spheres spun around the dragon and the angel, their domains moving and weaving spells around them.

For the first time, Vesuvius didn’t face some lower-class being. He now faced a being of equal order in life, and death fight, even though it was just its lingering spirit, possessing its long-dead body.

None of them spoke as, in utter silence, beams of light and lightning cut through the sky, crisscrossing it with glowing lines.

Both of them flapped their wings, each of their flaps firing thousands of lava blades with magic circles spinning around against the waves of ice and light blades while making loud sonic booms.

Vesuvius didn’t even bother to dodge as he flapped his wings and smashed through the onslaught of attacks head-on, barriers of mana and lifeforce flickering on his armor, blocking the attack and creating loud bangs upon each impact.

He headed on like an unstoppable tank, his eyes shining and burning! He felt the ancient feud reawaken within his heart as the power of curse and ice expanded even more, enveloping his entire body in a red, frosty glow.

The angel and the dragon kept closing at each other, the world around them looking as if the time had slowed down when compared to their supersonic speeds and rapid accelerations.

The barriers of light were popping around the seraph, blocking the rays of lightning and blades of magma exploding upon impacts, bright flashes of light glowing on the sky like thousands of stars.

The voice of the old dragon once again resonated in his soul. It was weak and quiet as its energy was draining to finish Vesuviuse’s transformation, “Kill that angel a second time! And I shall give you everything that remains of me! Humiliate that winged pigeon, and I shall give you even the remains of my soul that didn’t return back to cycle!”

The dragon opened his mouth, his eyes glowing and flashing in red, as more than a dozen magic circles formed within his mouth, all spinning and glowing.

They even reached out, forming an array before his head as if he had some mask of red and golden light covering his head.

The mana flowed like an unstoppable river to fuel them up, the dragon’s specialized sub-brain, horns, and parts of the brain for magic all working together in an override to keep them going.

The entire world turned neon red as a huge beam of red fire. The magma of molten metal, lightning, and smoke exploded out, painting everything in red.

The beam was thick and wide, looking like a river of red apocalyptic energy. The elements fused within it, synergizing and working together to empower each other beyond their limits.

The angel’s thousands of eyes pulsed as it pointed its purifier sword toward the incoming beam, ready to spell its doom.

The light passed through its body into the tip of the sword. In the next split second, a massive beam of light and snow-white fire exploded.

Both beams clashed head-on, pushing against each other in a contest of energy, sparks of energy launching out, exploding and creating black-seared craters all over the ground.

The swords in the angel’s head trembled while the dragon’s breath glands itched, both pouring more energy into their attacks.

The beams’ light was becoming brighter and brighter as both stopped, flapping their wings and hovering in mid-air as they focused on mana control.

The force of impacts and shockwaves pushed them backward, the distance between them growing once more.

‘No, nuke-like attacks will not work here… this angel is too fast to get hit by something like that.’ As he analyzed the situation, possibilities, and scenarios flashed before the dragon’s eyes.

They were already far from their initial site of the attack, leaving behind them a huge and wide river of burned lands and gaping cracks after the shockwaves.

Everything was burning and collapsing while the mountains crumbled into rubble.

‘No, this can’t go on like this! I need to use my divine powers….’ The dragon’s divine kingdom moved, and a powerful sucking force enveloped him and the angel. The reality warped, and suddenly they both stood in the huge black palace.

Vesuvius felt even more power, and the entire world moved to his command, with waves of magma, stone, metal, and lightning forming out of nowhere and rolling at the angel like an unstoppable avalanche of the apocalypse.

The next moment, the holy halo of fire, ice, and light above the angel’s head spun and oscillated, glowing brighter than hundreds of suns, and the reality warped once again.

A world of sheer pasture of grass made of white flames expanded out. The light was radiating from everywhere. Both the world of fire and the world of light overlapped and merged together.

The angel and the dragon hovered above the destroyed landscape of fire, beaming their beams while their wills clashed and spun, warping the world around them to their image and form.

Swords of light crashed against meteors of fire and metal, and loud bangs shattered everything, only for it to be recreated again.

‘What the hell is going on?’ Vesuvius stared in terror at the fantasy and magic nonsense that enveloped him. He felt like the fight was on a different level than anything he had seen before. Everything was happening so fast and quickly that he couldn’t even wrap his mind around how they got here.

The dragon’s world, however, quickly expanded, dominating and pushing back the angel’s white world.

However, the angel’s words resonated through the battlefield, the glow of their holy halo, wings, and sword turning brighter, “Purity shall arise! Everything shall return to the pure!”

They carried might and power that twisted reality. The angel’s domain of purity reacted, and then the next moment, everything was pure.

Everything vanished, leaving behind only a vast and empty white space. Only the dragon and the angel remained. Everything else was purified and returned back to a pure white canvas. Even their attacks were gone…

Vesuvius felt enlightened as he got the answer he had been looking for, ‘Huh? Can I do the same with my words and domain?! Is this what the system meant when it said that the words of dragons are magic? Can I just use them to amplify my powers?!’

He hated how stupid the angel’s domain effect was, ‘Purity… such nonsense!’

The angel was old, and their domain was powerful, but Vesuvius still grinned with a sneer as he was a dragon lord, not some regular dragon. He would smash the arrogant little angel. The glow of his eyes blazed with insanity, frenzy, and joy of war.

Finally, a golden crown formed and materialized on the dragon’s head, forming a majestic crown incorporating his horns, his golden and crystal mask, and the time-space fragment embedded in his forehead.

The angel flapped their wings as they turned into light, vanishing with their sword already moving to attack.

They were both done with their probing attacks, and they were going full out.
