Last Egg: Reincarnated as a Dragon in a Game

Chapter 245 The Draconic Knight, Part 2/2

POV The Knight:

Johan felt his consciousness drift into the black void of nothingness. Around him was nothing but a sea of blackness. His mind was half asleep and half awake, with his thoughts hazy and chaotic.

Suddenly a bright golden light lit up the black void as if a sun had risen from behind a horizon. The light pulled at his consciousness.

The next moment he woke and opened his eyes. He was back in the physical world, but colours, sounds and smells were much more vibrant than he remembered.

He stirred, turning his head towards his body. He was naked, lying in a puddle of bubbling lava, his skin unnaturally white and pale.

He jumped from the ground like a spring, his instincts screaming at him to escape the lava.

However, he felt no burning, only slight and comfortable warmth.

‘What happened?’ his mind felt still blurry as if he had spent a whole night in a tavern, ‘Yes, I can remember it. I really went into a tavern… But what happened after that?’

He looked around himself, noticing a small girl staring at his naked body. His hands moved to cover his manhood, making loud shrieking noises as they turned into a blur from the speed.

‘What the…?’ he stepped backwards, but loud cracking resounded as the stone ground cracked under his feet, making him slip and fall back into the puddle of lava.

His veins kept pulsing with a faint light leaking from under his skin.

‘What is this power?’ He felt like the world before him had opened for the first time.

He had already come to peace with living as a regular civilian for the rest of his life, but now he felt his heart beating in excitement, magical energy surging through his body.

A loud voice boomed around him, causing all the hairs on his body to stand up, “Welcome, my new minion. Congratulations, you have become my first draconic knight.”

Johan looked towards the sky and immediately fell on his knees upon spotting the giant dragon hovering above his head.

His blood boiled within his veins, and his instincts screamed at him to bow.

“Your Majesty.” he didn’t even know how but words leaked from between his lips.

It was different from what he initially expected when he came to this world, but all of the dreams of an exciting life full of battles and adventures awoke from their grave.

‘Haha, I am not a hero. Instead, I am a henchman of a villain ruling over an evil empire!’

He kind of liked that idea, the images of the most famous henchmen like Darth Vader or Witch King flashing before his eyes that shone brightly.

The strong and turbulent emotions of hope, joy and excitement rampaged across his body, the glow in his veins intensifying.

“Your Majesty, I will serve and expand your will!” something within him switched, and he no longer felt the fear of his master.

Instead, gratefulness, admiration and worship replaced it.

‘The master gave me the power to fulfil my dreams. He changed my life from boring and dull into an adventure. I can finally live my new life like I always wanted.’

The bright orange flames exploded from his body, the mana within him going haywire.

The sound of cracking resounded through the whole square, his skeleton twisting and changing with scales growing all over him.

However, he felt no pain as he watched his body slowly transform into a monster covered in scales and armour.

A pair of massive black wings covered in fiery veins burst from the flames.

He felt no repulsion to his surprise with his new form. He liked that feeling of power bursting in each of his muscles, the wings and tail.

The draconian looked towards the dragon, his heart bursting with zeal.

“I wish to fight your enemies. I wish to go to battle! Please allow me to serve you.”

He wanted nothing more but to go to a battle and harvest XP, ‘Now I have power and a system. With this, I will finally live like I always wanted.’

He felt no repulsion for killing humans. He witnessed their disgusting society that was twisted and full of treachery.

He saw how they attacked the city that he had helped build. He witnessed how different was the draconic society, ‘Yes, we are greedy and fight for power. But we have our limits. They are no murders on the streets or thefts. In the end, we have all worked for the greater good of our society and his Majesty.’

He no longer even considered himself to be a human. He was something more and something better.

POV Vesuvius:

The dragon looked at his new minion, ‘It is a success. Draconians are even better. They can blend with humans while having tremendous power.’

“Alesia, forge him an armour that will transform with him. Do not cheap on it.” he turned back towards his newest minion, “I will fulfil your wish, my minion. I will send you to a battle. Until then, train with other minions. I will prepare you a mount worthy of my knight.”

Vesuvius flapped his wings, shooting towards the sky, his eyes glowing as he set towards the mountains on the horizon, ‘Time to find out what happened with the wyverns that I have transformed while they were in eggs.’

POV Tanya:

The young woman jumped out of the carriage, firmly landing on the ground as flames filled with anger exploded out of her body, enveloping the whole carriage behind her.

A blade glinted in the sunlight as an armoured rider rushed towards her, swinging his long sword glowing in energy at her neck.

Tanya stepped backwards, the blade narrowly missing her neck, leaving only a thin line of blood behind and her hair moving in a draft from the swing.

Her hands explode with flames, two orbs of fire quickly growing in them with her eyes brightly shining.

A sound of hooves hitting a stone came from behind her. She swiftly twisted in her waist and threw the fireball at the incoming rider.

The sphere of ire flew through the air and hit the rider straight into his armoured chest, exploding into flames and completely enveloping him and his horse in the fire.

The horse painfully neighed as it went on its hind legs, its burning rider falling on the ground with a loud clang.

The adrenaline quickly rose in her. It was the first time she fought personally in a life-and-death battle. She felt no fear, her predatory instincts working as she scanned the overconfident prey moving around her.

The burning knight stood up, his cape and feathers on his helmet turning into ash, with runes brightly glowing on his armour.

‘As expected of royal guards. They are not weak. But it doesn’t matter. I just need more fire!’ her eyes glinted dangerously as she smiled at the incoming knight.

“Surrender and let yourself be captured. If you are innocent, there is nothing to fear.” the knight spoke, his voice muffled by the helmet as the flames slowly settled down, revealing his shiny armour without any damage.

He raised up his blade threateningly while more dismounted knights surrounded her from every side. Their swords pointed at her.

Tanya was constantly pouring the mana into her second fireball, which was quickly growing in size, the flames turning brighter and brighter.

The knights slowly closed towards her, their armoured greaves clanging on the paved road. Their shining swords were close towards her.

‘Yes, come closer, closer!’ she felt her pulse rising with her expectations as the knights kept walking deeper and deeper into her trap, ‘They would be correct in their approach if I was a human mage, but unfortunately for them, I am not.’

“Come on, dispel that magic, my lady. We both know that you will burn yourself too at this distance.” the knight stared at a quickly growing orb of fire that glowed like a miniature sun.

Suddenly sound of cracking resounded across the street as a knight turned into a blur, moving towards her, ready to tackle her towards the ground.

“Ooops.” Tanya dropped the ultra-concentrated orb of fire towards the ground under her feet, all of the knight freezing in shock.

Bright yellowy flames exploded in all directions, the blinding light flooding the whole street, the stone pavement melting into a puddle of lava.
