Last Egg: Reincarnated as a Dragon in a Game

Chapter 164 The End Of The Raid

POV Vesuvius:

Bright and blue light exploded from the top of the tall, dark tower, mana flooding the sky with a blue glow.

The massive shadow of the winged beast lifted from the tower, flapping his wings. His whole body was covered in blue energy, eating upon the black armour.

The dragon opened his mouth, unleashing bright golden-orange flames towards the tower’s roof. The flames flooded the tower, showering it with fire, its walls turning red from the heat and slightly malforming.

The XP notifications flooded his mind, making him feel like laughing at the naivety of the players attacking him. A ridicule filled his mind as he remembered the players loudly speaking and shouting in the tower while trying to sneak on him, thinking that they were unnoticed, ‘They are like children who think that their parents don’t know where they are hiding during hide and seek.’

The magic energy flared up from his body, erupting like a tsunami, pushing away all of the mana lingering around his armour, the stinging feeling vanishing as if it had never even existed.

‘Time to play the proper boss!’ This situation finally excited him as he started to hate just playing a quest-giving NPC. He could finally release all of his pent-up frustration with annoying players.

POV BrownyBrown:

A player in a brown coat stood on top of a peak with the recording turned on. He was holding a brass cased binocular, his eyes glued on the massive beast in the sky. Each flap of its wings was causing the clouds around it to swirl.

‘It works. They made the wyrm leave the tower!’

At once, blue light flashed from multiple tall peaks, and sharp metallic spikes surrounded by a blue glow launched out, blasting through the air towards the wyrm. They crossed the sky instantly, leaving behind trails of blue light.

At the same time, more than two dozen winged players flapped their wings rising towards the sky around the tower, using its mighty walls as a foothold to rise quicker.

The enchanted spikes reached the wyrm leaving behind blue trails on the sky like these left behind by planes.

The loud bangs came from the wyrm in the sky. Black smoke and magma crackling with lightning erupted from its arms and legs, its massive smoke-covered body launching upwards at a shocking speed, penetrating through the thick clouds.

All of the spikes flew by, missing the wyrm by a large margin, harmlessly continuing into a distance.

In horror, Brown froze, seeing how their plan crumbled, “Shit! They missed!”

“Mortals, how dare you soil my tower with your dirty feet! Burn, burn!” the terrifying voice spread through the mountains, everything shaking as the sound bounced between the peaks.

The clouds around the tower started to whirl even faster, large blue arcs of lightning striking between them and loud thunderclaps constantly resounding through the skies.

Brown’s mood turned even grimmer, already knowing stories about the powerful lightning attack that the wyrm would unleash. His hope to film the powerful boss dying was escaping further and further from his grasp.

‘Hopefully, they will buy enough time!’

The winged players kept rising towards the wyrm, heavy rain beating against them with bright light flashes from lightning strikes blinding them.

They kept rising without any fear, their small wings glowing from mana to keep them in the air as they rose higher and higher.

The lightning started to rain from the sky, smiting the players. Some vanished in bright flashes, with others limply falling from the sky, their bodies smouldering as they fell. They were like flies flying towards an electric fly zapper, helpless but fearless.

More blue lights flashed across multiple peaks, and another valley of glowing blue spikes launched upwards, winds loudly howling around them as they pierced through the air.

In an instant, they crossed through the thick clouds, Brown tightly clenching his fists, all of his hope put into this one attack.

“Graaaah!” another painfully sounding shriek resounded in everyone’s ears, everyone’s hope flaring a new.

‘That’s it! These thick clouds must make it harder for the wyrm to see incoming attacks, making it harder to dodge! They are probably injured.’

The crackling in the clouds grew even more intense, and the whole sky was filled with lightning and rotating clouds.

At once, massive lightning struck from the clouds, blinding and deafening everyone. The whole mountains shook, the lightning raining from the sky as if it was just rainwater.

Every player around the tower instantly turned into a cinder, the whole peak glowing red from the heat, a massive white avalanche rolling down its sides, destroying everything in this path.

Brown felt excited, his whole body trembling, ‘This is even better! If I post this cool boss fight, everyone will love it! A boss unleashing such large-scale elemental attacks isn’t something common.’

Orange lights suddenly ignited in the clouds, the yellow light passing through the thick black clouds, creating a beautiful sight. Mesmerized by the sight before him, Brown stood there, watching as the yellow light intensified, looking as if small yellow stars ignited all over the black cloudy sky.

“Get down!”, suddenly something pushed him from behind, making him fall on the ground, rolling behind a large stone structure, obscuring his sight from the sky. The snow covered his whole coat and hat.

He turned, seeing that his teal-haired companion was also covering behind the same stone structure.

The second later bright yellow light fell around him, the air getting hotter and impacts resounding in his ears.

It stopped as fast as it came, Brown peaking his head with his brown head out of his cover.

The small trails of magma littered the ground around him, steam rising towards the sky.

“This was close…” he quietly murmured, seeing the destruction around him.

POV Vesuvius:

The dragon flapped his wings, dozens of flaming blades launching out, falling from the sky like small meteors, winds pushing them towards players on the peaks around him.

They have rained upon them, piercing through their bodies and burning them alive.

The pair of golden reptilian eyes looked through the smoke around him, searching for any surviving group.

Seeing no movements, he flapped his wings, slowly gliding back towards his tower, where his body landed with an audible thud on the stone roof, his tail curling around him.

Not to forget, he immediately refreshed his title, levels of several of his abilities immediately rising.

Sounds of battle were still coming from the tower under him, but they were slowly getting quieter as the fight approached its end.

With his muscle tense and his mind full of excitement, he pressed the option to evolve his ability.

POV MarcAntonius:

The small group of players firmly stood on the stairs. Their shiny armour was battered, full of dents, scratches and marks of burning. Several more of them lay on the ground around them, motionless, some of them missing arms or legs with blood leaking out of them, creating a gruesome scene obscured by a hazy-looking filter.

“We have failed… now the light church will steal our kill.” Antonius was resting with his back on the hot black wall, his mind depressed, knowing their plans were for nothing. His whole body felt weak and tired, each scratch and attack of the monsters draining the energy out of him.

“Grrrr!” a terrifying sound came from the staircase as a large draconified wolf walked towards the players. Its body was large, easily taller than the player’s. Its whole body was made of unnaturally black stones with patches of neon-red magma in it. Its long black spikes were crackling with red electricity.

“Shit, another is coming!”

Antonius ignored it, knowing that the inquisitors would walk and finish what they had started.

“They will just come and take it all…” he felt even more depressed, quietly murmuring to himself after finding out that they discovered that the wyrm could be easily hit when unleashing its large-scale lightning attack as its sight was largely limited during that time.

‘It is so unfair… we were so close.’

Suddenly he stood up, a new idea forming in his head, “My friends, we will not let the church steal from us. We will sabotage them and throw all the blame on the wyrm!”

Everyone froze, and then cheers erupted from the depressed players, their grip on their swords tightening.
