Last Egg: Reincarnated as a Dragon in a Game

Chapter 152 Giant

The gigantic dragon flapped his wings as he soared through the sky, quickly flying above the mountains. His eyes were unfocused as he read through the evolution options for his breath.

//Evolution options

[Enchanted True Dragon Breath] —> [Empowered Noble Dragon Breath] (Natural Evolution):

Description: Truly destructive breath of a noble dragon that was enchanted even more after the dragon’s breath glands got saturated with magic over a long period of time. This breath is better in all aspects. It has increased power by 15%, range by 15% and lastly, mana usage efficiency by 15% compared to regular dragon breath.

[Presurised True Dragon Breath] —> [Overpreusrised Noble Dragon Breath]] (Special Evolution) :

Description: A breath of a dragon whose breath glands evolved to launch fire under high pressure through unique specially shaped tubes that can bring air from the dragon’s lungs at a much greater rate, increasing the flight speed of the breath and its range by a large margin of 25% than normal dragon breath.

[Concentated True Dragon Breath] —> [Super Concentrated Noble Dragon Breath] (Special Evolution):

Description: A super-concentrated dragon breath that contains high destructive power with much stronger firepower than regular dragon breath. The breath glands of such a dragon evolved to contain a much large amount of breath-producing cells, increasing the concentration of the unleashed breath. The overall power of their breath is increased by a whopping 25%.

Bonus option:

[Mana-charged True Dragon Breath] —> [Mana-infused Noble Dragon Breath] (Special Evolution):

Description: A breath of a dragon whose breath glands evolved to have much higher mana conductivity, allowing a large amount of mana to seep through them into a breath, increasing its destructive power with the amount of mana burned.

‘So, in short, my choices are either an overall improvement, range, damage or basically all for the price of mana.’

Vesuvius felt like the decision was simple, ‘My mana usage is already through the roof. The last thing that I need is to make it even larger.’

‘As for my range and damage, they are both equally important, so I will just go with overall improvement. No need to break the perfect balance of my breath.’

The hot feeling erupted in the dragon’s throat, making him feel as if he had gobbled down a bottle of chilli sauce. His whole throat was on fire, bright yellow flames blazing out of his nose and mouth.

Almost as soon as it appeared, the feeling subsided, leaving the dragon filled with a craving to unleash his breath attack, his whole body itching and hoping that some fool along his way would give him a reason to do it.

‘Well, suck it. This is no longer the territory of wyverns. I can blow it up!’

The dragon opened his mouth, the magma and acid dripping out, raining towards the ground and burning everything it touched.

Bright yellow, almost purely white, light radiated out, its shine so bright that it looked like a second sun ignited in the dragon’s mouth.

The dragon’s long, black armoured neck turned his head to face a white peak under the dragon. The next moment as if a volcano exploded, loud rumbling shattered the silence of the mountains and a massive thick stream that looked like a volcanic explosion erupted.

The bright yellow stream of magma poured out, surrounded by superheated volcanic gasses looking like pitch-black clouds on fire. Lightning sparkled through it, bright blue and gold arcs striking and branching out of it.

The strong pressure as that inside of an active volcano pushed the breath at unprecedented speed, the fiery hell descending from the sky, the sharp pieces of ash and stone moving at neck-breaking speed, turning into dozens of small blades and pellets.

The breath hit the peak with immense force. A loud bang echoed through the air, the whole peak cracking under just the kinetic force as a huge explosion sent magma flying in all directions. The bright yellow, almost white magma blasted against the peak, the stone melting and a lake of lava forming under the crumbling mass of stone.

Dozens of small XP notifications spammed the corner of the dragon’s vision.

Seeing that Vesuvius hurriedly closed his mouth, his eyes bulging out as he was surprised by the destruction in front of him, ‘This is as if I had a volcano in my throat. The sheer pressure and physical force changed it absolutely, giving it great speed and ferocity. Also, my sheer size increased the amount of breath that I could unleash multiple times over. This is simply beyond insane.’

‘With this, I could probably level the capital of the barony in a matter of seconds. This is so far above the power of any player of this level. It is totally off-chart. I bet that this would blast that damn demon baron from the sky in a matter of seconds!’

“Hahaha!” the insane laughter of the dragon spread through the whole mountains, large avalanches falling down as the dragon’s golden eyes brightly glowed. All of his doubts if he chose the right path immediately vanished from his mind, realising how destructive the force of volcanoes was when fused and merged.

In the meantime, in the barony capital:

A crowd of people stood around a gate. Some of them frowning while others had excited smiles on their faces. There was only one thing that they had in common, and that was fear and nervosity.

“Inquisitors are coming…” quiet whispers were resounding through the crowd, everyone scared of even saying that word loud, knowing the terrifying rumours about them.

A loud sound of hooves came from the gate, and soon more than dozens of riders in pure white galloped through it, riding huge white warhorses with glowing white eyes. Each rider wore a white close-fitting robe with shiny silvery plates covering their vitals. Their heads were hidden under hoods, with their faces obscured by masks made of pure light, making them look as if only light was under their hoods.

A terrifying aura radiated out of each of them. The crowd trembled, no one even daring to lift their eyes from the ground.

“Third brother, everyone is too scared. They must be hiding something.” one of the inquisitors moved his hand, reaching towards his belt, horror on the faces of all people around them upon hearing his words.

However, the hands in a silver metallic gauntlet with a large white stone embedded in it grabbed his hand, “Stop it, fifth brother! We are here to uncover the truth so hold up your actions until then. You immortals are too eager to just swings your weapons!”

“Woah, look at this cool equipment I wonder how much gold it is worth!” a man in weird mismatched cloth with green hair and with a sword larger than himself on his back pushed himself through the crowd, pointing at the inquisitor known as fifth brother, “Hey dude, how long it took you to farm for…”

“Blasphemy, you have no respect for the servants of the greatest of all gods.” blinding white light flashed through the street, and a whip made of pure white light swung through the air, with loud shockwaves creating clouds of dust. The whip moved through the weirdo, his whole body splitting into multiple parts, each soon disappearing in white motes of light.

No one in the crowd even bathed his eyes, everyone more than familiar with the suicidal antics of immortals.

POV Vesuvius:

The dragon was looking at the smouldering crater in the side of the peak, streams of magma flowing out, and all of the trees around burned and turned into cinders.

Suddenly the whole peak shook, the large part of it twisting and moving. The whole chunk of the peak moved, the stones repositioning with loud rumbling and banging.

The large boulders quickly arranged to form arms and legs, creating a giant made of stone, its whole body grey with two blue eyes flickering in its head.

The mass of stone reached towards the sky, easily being at least fifteen floors high as it slowly turned, facing the dragon, the loud creaking of stones and rumbling resounding through the whole mountains.

‘Did I just provoke a mountain giant? How is this my fault when it looked like a mountain.’

Vesuvius quickly flapped his wings rising upwards, the winds soaring around his body, his body accelerating as he flew higher and higher, trying to get out of the giant’s reach.

The loud rumbling echoed, all of the air vibrating and strong winds howling as a large grey blur moved across the air, the giant arm moving towards the dragon as if he was just an annoying fly. The hand narrowly missed the dragon, a powerful wind that it created causing the dragon to waver in the air.

The gigantic mouth on the stone giant’s head opened, revealing a large cave-like hole in it, a deep rumbling sound coming out, causing the dragon’s whole body to shake.

Vesuvius didn’t panic, already knowing all of the giants’ capabilities, ‘Just a large but useless monster.’

For average players of his level, its tanky body would be like an unsurpassable mountain, but for a dragon-like himself, the whole mass of stone felt like awkwardly moving pieces of stone.
