Last Egg: Reincarnated as a Dragon in a Game

Chapter 147 Fire And Water Experiments [Bonus]

The black silhouette of the dragon flew above the white peaks, a few traces of bright yellow light radiating out. The sky was black, hiding the dragon on it while covered in hundreds of glowing stars, with a large white moon showering the land in its silvery radiance.

Bright yellow flames ignited around the bone structure supporting the dragon’s wings. Two magical squares consisting of hundreds of glowing letters pulsed.

At once, yellow super hot blades of flames shot out, falling from the sky, looking like yellow lines as they quickly rained towards glowing red eyes moving on the ground. The heat radiating out of them caused the air to shiver and ignite in flames.

Packs of pitch black, porcupine-like cursed wolves with neon red eyes ran on through a narrow mountain passage covered in a layer of white snow.

The burning yellow blades hit the ground, cutting through the wolves, their bodies torn and burned by sharp blades of concentrated fire. Clouds of steam rose up as the snow evaporated, hiding the whole passage.

Seeing the spam of notification, the dragon opened his mouth, grinning as his XP bar rose up by a small chunk. With his XP steadily increasing from the efforts of his minions and him only missing a little bit to reach level forty and finally evolve, he couldn’t but itch to finish it as soon as possible.

‘That whole demon situation went wrong… horribly wrong. There is no way that this will not bring any attention to me.’ Vesuvius wasn’t just expecting it. He was sure that someone was already on his trail.

Bright luminescent neon-red beams launched from multiple spots on the ground, all of them heading towards the dragon.

Vesuvius didn’t even flinch, calmly flapping his wings on the spot as the bright beams illuminated the whole sky, impacting all over his body, the red energy covering it whole.

‘As a dragon with power over water, I should be using my water powers more… but I have mostly ignored them.’

In instant blue magical circles ignited on his wings, brightly flashing. Water violently flowed and surged around his wings, with thick steam clouds rising.

With a flap of his wings, a thick hail of hot water descended from the sky, raining upon the cursed wolves and melting the snow. The water kept raining, everything turning wet.

‘To be honest, with was less than lacklustre…’ on itself, it felt like an absolute letdown, but Vesuvius knew it could create some powerful combo with his lightning powers.

But that wasn’t the goal of his current experiments. He wanted to test the interaction of magma and water to cause violent thermal explosions. He just didn’t want an explosion of steam, he wanted to achieve a fragmentation explosion, but that needed a specific ratio of magma and water that he had no idea how it was.

He even felt lucky that he at least knew that something like that existed, ‘System promised me violent thermal explosions when describing this evolution, so it must work somehow.’

The dragon opened his mouth, and a thick stream of yellow magma exploded out, the bright magma descending towards the water on the ground. The magma hit the ground, all of the water instantly evaporating and turning into thick clouds of steam. The yellow liquid splashed everywhere, burning the cursed wolves in droves.

‘It evaporated too quickly… It didn’t even have time to react properly, so probably more water.’

The dragon closed his mouth, the yellow light vanishing from the sky, leaving only the bright light radiating from the magma pool forming on the ground.

Dozens of neon red points ignited on the ground, and bright red beams erupted out once again, moving towards the dragon.

Red erupted all over his body, the hard volcanic stone covering his body slowly cracking with small pieces of it chipping away.

The dragon’s wings moved so fast that they looked like a yellow blur and dense streams of water rained down again. Then they flapped again and again, more and more water raining down.

‘This is too slow. I need more water!’

The magical energy erupted from the dragon’s heart flowing through his body into his wings like an unstoppable river. Three layers of magical blue circles formed above his wings, their glow quickly increasing as they overlapped with each other.

The thick streams of water formed around his wings, looking as if river flowed around them with even thicker clouds of steam surging out and forming white clouds in the sky.

The water kept raining down in streams, impacting against stone cliffs and splashing everywhere, dragging down the black wolves.

Vesuvius didn’t stop, pouring more and more mana into his wings. In the meantime, dozens of red eyes were moving on the ground, all running towards the dragon, forming a large group under him.

The magical blue circles on the dragon’s wings kept flashing as an incredible amount of the water kept pouring out, raining upon the ground, forming small ponds on the uneven terrain.

The large pack of monsters, all wet from the water, grouped under the dragon, toppling over each other and howling, their neon-red eyes locked on the dragon.

Vesuvius opened his mouth again, the yellow light flooding the night sky, temporarily illuminating the mountain passage as if it was a midday.

The collum of golden-yellow magma descended towards the pond of water, thick clouds of steam rising from the pond before they even collided. Second, later the magma and water collided, mixing with other.

In an instant, magma erupted out from the water, turning into millions of glowing yellow droplets flying in all directions, powerful shockwaves spreading through the surrounding with steam drowning the whole valley.

The powerful explosion swept through the packs of wolves, their bodies vanishing in the flood of magma and steam.

The dragon’s eyes glowed, seeing the explosion even more potent than he anticipated. However, he wasn’t confused by it knowing its source well.

Lorenia was a different world than earth; everything was filled with specific elemental mana, and opposing elements could cause powerful magical reactions.

Of course, some child randomly pouring water over the fire wouldn’t cause such a reaction as they contained mana, but it wasn’t in a high enough amount. However, it was different for fire and water created by magic as they were highly charged with mana.

There was also the matter of how the specific element was volatile similar to how chemicals had their reactance, with earth being highly stable and not prone to violent reaction while fire, for example, was extremely volatile.
