Chapter 139 The Demon VS The Dragon, Part 1/2
Thick black tentacles were wrapped around the black dragon, twirling around him as they kept tightening. The black volcanic stone was cracking while engulfed in the bright red flames.
Two magical circuits ignited in the dragon’s mind, and the mana flowed through his veins and bones. Bright yellow flames blazed up from the dragon’s body, brightly burning and mixing with the red flames.
The dragon’s body engulfed in shadows, and flames brightly glowed in the red sky. The black tentacles wrapped around him were disintegrating under the onslaught of the yellow inferno. The red glowing twister of portal collapsed, closing behind the destroyed tentacles.
Freed Vesuvius spread his wings and opened his mouth. A stream of yellow flames enveloped the shadowy figure of the demon levitating in the sky. The demon’s whole body got submerged under the flood of yellow flames, vanishing from the dragon’s sight.
Suddenly bright red flames mixing with black shadows erupted from between the yellow flames, pushing against them and forming a red and black dome.
The demon’s figure stood there, his whole body tattered with smoke still rising from it.
“You really want to serve me forever, my dragon friend, don’t you?” the demon’s body disappeared, reforming next to the dragon, his whispers resounding in the dragon’s head.
Vesuvius ignored the demon’s provocation as he grinned after realising a way that he could use to defeat the demon.
He wasn’t naive and saw how calm the demon was. He was sure he was just messing with him to break his will while not showing his full strength.
‘Just wait, you fool, you will regret that you ever looked down upon a dragon!’ Vesuvius could feel his whole heart beating in excitement, waiting for the demons to fall into his trap.
“Why are you grinning like an idiot? Are you stupid? Hahaha.” the demon laughed as he turned into a black cloud that lunged at the dragon. His shadowy body reformed right next to the smoke-covered dragon, his right arm growing in size with red hellfire burning around it.
The arm swished through the air, causing the air to whirl under its speed. The fist hit the dragon to the side, and a large chunk of his armour shattered with pieces of black stone falling down towards the ground. The large mass of amour launched through the sky as if hit by a battering ram, leaving behind a trail of dark smoke.
The demon flapped his flaming wings, launching towards the dragon flying with his glowing red fist placed forwards, like superman. The winds and flames surged around the demon, his face distorting as he closed towards Vesuvius at an incredible speed.
The red fist hit Vesuvius a second time on the same spot, the shiny black scales screeching and bending with the water-like energy on their surface, violently moving as an ocean during a storm. The runes flashed in bright light, desperately trying to mitigate the damage.
Pain erupted from the injured spot, the dragon grinding his teeth as his body once again blasted uncontrollably through the air, spinning as if he was on a rollercoaster. The heat erupted from his ribs as the runes on them absorbed the force that got through the scales.
The dragon flapped his wings glowing with runes, quickly regaining his balance. Suddenly all of the black clouds that spread through the surroundings crackled with lightning, large blue arcs streaking across the red sky, passing through both black clouds of volcanic ash and the red demonic clouds of hellfire.
The blue and gold sparks kept sparking in the clouds as the arcs collided, hitting the dragon’s horns, rotating and striking between them.
The demon stopped in midair, his wings leisurely and slowly moving on his back as he rose up his arm into the air. All the fiery red clouds in the sky above the forests started to rotate, spinning in one large twister of red hellfire, winds howling and red light flashing across the sky.
The dragon pushed his mana into the horns, and a large, concentrated arc of lightning shot out, moving straight towards the demon without branching, concentrating all of its power.
The demon swung his clawed pitch-black hand, and the whole vortex of flames shot forwards.
The red vortex and the lightning collided, and a blinding flash of light temporary illuminated the whole forest, the mountains and the plains with the town.
The lightning and fire kept mixing together, the whole sky crackling with electricity and burning in red flames. The red fire and arcs of lightning rained upon the ground, destroying everything under them and turning the surrounding into a black, destroyed plain.
POV Noob:
Noob’s consciousness drifted across the pure white space of the loading screen, his mind itching to give LOMM another try.
‘Last time, it was a fluke this time. I feel like I will be lucky.’
Suddenly a dialogue option appeared in the middle of his vision.
// Select your respawn position:
1. Nearest Town
2. Nearest Monster-Free Location
//
‘Maybe I was too harsh with this game. They are at least allowing me to respawn nearby. There is still a chance I can pick up the hides from where I died!’
With a grin, the noob chose the second option, and the white surrounding quickly turned into a green clearing in the middle of a forest.
Loud cracking and banging noise came from the sky, and he immediately looked upwards with a bad premonition.
A large arc of golden-blue lightning with red flames whirling around it descended from the sky, falling directly towards him. His eye went wide, already knowing what would happen.
The bright red and blue light filled his screen as a message popped up.
Ding!
//
You were killed by a combo attack of [Boss] Hydrothermal Lightning Noble Elder Volcano Wyrm Vesuvius and [Boss] Demon Barron Mathusálius Leviticus
//
‘Fuck this game! Not just one boss, but now two bosses in a beginner zone joined in attacking me, a level three player. Which developer thought that this is fucking balanced!’
