Chapter 113 The Second Commandment
Vesuvius felt as if he was floating in the void. There was nothing around him but a blackness. There was no air, but he felt no need to breathe.
Suddenly two large circles looking like a pair of reptilian eyes glowing in bright golden colour materialised in the distance of the black void.
A majestic and familiar aura spread through the void, covering every nook and cranny of the black emptiness.
Vesuvius immediately recognised it, lowering his head and replicating his actions from his last visit, “Ohhh mighty progenitor of all dragons, your descendant and servant greet you!”
The loud ethereal voice boomed across the emptiness, “Welcome, young Vesuvius. I couldn’t but notice your fast progress. I also heard about you wanting to form a church for me.”
“Yes, to your glory as y…”
An invisible force pushed against Vesuvius forcing him to shut up. “No need to for this fake flattery, I know that you want just a source of the priests for your minions, and that is alright. Dragons must search to empower themself to show their superiority to every inferior species roaming the world under us.
“In the past, dragons kept their faith in my majestic divine self greedily for themself, but I want you to change it. Go and build my church! Get me, worshippers!
“If the inferior gods of inferiors species can extract power from crowds of useless, low-quality specimens, so can I! I will use them for my strength.
“And you will gain your share!”
Listening to the dragon god, Vesuvius couldn’t help but feel the incredible arrogance of the dragon god. ‘If dragons are descendants and in the image of our god, that explains our horrible personalities.’
“So I hereby command you with my new commandment, go and spread my faith! For so, I shall give you the authority to sanctify my priests!”
A wave of invisible and warm energy washed over the dragon reminding him of the energy that radiated out of the golden statue after he passed the trial. The energy seeped through his body and soul, entering each of his cells.
Knowing that he had limited time in this weird space, he gathered all of his conviction, “Your divinity… who is the fallen dragon?”
Vesuvius still remembered the short interaction with the entity calling themself the fallen dragon, but he couldn’t stop having his suspicions bout it. And there was likely only the dragon god that could give him an answer if it was safe to contact them.
“The primordial dragon that is no longer a pure dragon, consumed with their wrath, they fell all the way into the pits of the nether. Becoming the first and most fabulous fallen dragon, a dragon transformed by the demonic energy of the nether, a dragon of wrath.
“They can be a strong ally when calm, but they can also be your enemy. They are too chaotic and unpredictable when consumed by their rage.”
Suddenly the black void vanished.
The dragon suddenly opened his eyes, revealing his reptilian eyes radiating a bright golden light that slowly dimmed down. He was back in his dark lair, with thick clouds of smoke covering his small glittering pile of gold.

‘These are priest powers. I just wonder what miracles can priests of the dragon god use. It doesn’t sound intuitive as priests of light god or priests of life.’
He quietly snickered, ‘Not like I will use my precious mana to heal or buff my minions… but some self buffs or extra tricks will be good. To heal my minions, I will make some of them priests.’
The dragon noticed a small vial of silvery liquid lying on the ground, ‘Ohh, I almost forgot about you!’
Vesuvius opened his mouth, an orange glow illuminating the cave as he slowly picked the vial with an ethereal blue arm. He bit his tongue, glowing blood pouring out as he stuck it out of his mouth like a dog. He brought the small vial to the bleeding spot and crushed it.
The silver liquid looking like mercury, moved by itself, entering him by seeping into his injury, closing it behind as it entered. Immediately undescribable itching spread through his body until it stopped almost as soon as it came.
‘Well, let’s check how my status looks now.’

Faith was a special stat, only accessible by players serving gods such as priests, paladins, or inquisitors. It was a little bit niece as it didn’t increase by levelling but by doing tasks as a god’s servant, such as preaching, blessing believers, killing heretics or hunting down demons. Such tasks always depended on the player’s role in a church and a church itself.
