Chapter 106 Beginning Of The End
Two days later:
With his whole body armoured with black stone covered with webbing of gold and magma, the dragon was flapping his large fiery wings. His reptilian eyes were penetrating through the clouds of thick smoke around the dragon to focus on a scene happening on the field under him.
Lines upon lines of mechs stood in front of the large crashed ship with glowing blue lights on its hull. Hundreds of mechs were split into two groups with a swatch of free space between them. They were unflinching, just standing there without any unnecessary moves, their glowing eyes fixed on the forward, ready to react to an enemy movement. The light radiating from the pitch black sky reflected on their shiny metallic bodies, their whole formation glowing like one large mirror.
A giant mech with glowing red eyes, dwarfing the horde of mechs, stood all the way behind. The huge glowing sphere in its chest was flashing in bright red light like a beacon.
Suddenly the ranks of magitech constructs moved, their formations splitting into two wings as they opened a path through them.
Two figures with their whole bodies covered in grey and brown cloaks walked forwards, their steps being fast without any sign of hesitation.
The dragon in the sky immediately noticed them, focusing all of his attention on them.
‘Are these final bosses of this dungeon? Arent, they somehow small for that?’
Both figures walked forwards, their cloak fluttering in the breeze before they stopped just one arm away from each other. They just stood there unmovingly, except for the slight, almost unnoticeable raising and lowering of their bodies.
Vesuvius immediately noticed that, and his brain immediately hypothesised, ‘Are they breathing? Does that mean that they are not some machines?’
“My old friend… it looks like you found an unexpected ally. So today is our final reckoning!” suddenly, a short metallic tube engraved with crooked-looking symbols descended from the man’s sleeve. His hand nimbly grabbed it, and a stream of thick-looking blue energy, emitting bright light and sparks, flared up, forming a long tubular blade.
The brown cloak covering the man flew upwards, revealing a figure of an old man with his limbs replaced with metallic prosthetics made out of pipes, tubes, plates and gears.
The transparent tubes glowing in blue light came out of a sphere embedded in the man’s stomach, entering and leaving through holes in his pale skin in random places on his exposed torso. Half of the man’s face was covered in a plate with his right eyes replaced with a camera glowing in blue light like his human left eye.
“So be it, my friend. Let’s end this feud now and here!”
The cloak flew out of the second man, revealing a disfigured human with dozens of tubes and plates around his pale body covered in scars, emitting a faint red light. Long pitch black polished blades ejected from both of his arms, their edges covered in whirling red energy.

Both men rose up their weapons high into the air, “Fight my mechanical children, fight!”
At once, both armies of mechs moved forwards, their weapons flashing in light as hundreds of projectiles fell all over the battlefield, exploding and blowing up metal constructs.
The large turrets on the crashed ships glowed in blue light as thick beams that were so bright that one felt like looking into the sun blasted through the battlefield, burning out black lines with molten metal through the battlefield.
The crystal wings on the back of the humongous construct in behind flashed in red light, a wave of red launching out as the mech flew forwards, its huge body crushing everything in its path. Its red glowing eyes were focused on the ship as it bent its metallic legs, its large joints creaking, before jumping on the ship’s roof. It swung its huge fist covered in red light, its fist impacting a turret on the ship, crushing it into a metal pancake with cracks spreading through the hull.
Vesuvius remained on his spot, flapping his wings and observing the situation as he learned from before. He didn’t rush straight into the brawl but remained at a safe distance.
The two bosses swung their weapons, blue and red sparks flying in all directions as they pushed against each other. They retracted their blades and swung again, their blades hitting against each other in a storm of swings accompanied by flashes of lights and sparks. The weapons swished through the air, screeching as they moved so fast that they looked like smoothes of colour.
Vesuvius couldn’t even follow their movement.
The dragon’s eyes flared up in eagerness as he wanted to try the latest spell combo he had devised while recovering. He never had time to test it as he was too weak to cast such large magic while healing without delaying his recovery.
As it had three phases, it took a long time to cast, but Vesuvius had more than enough time.
As he opened his mouth, the dragon’s eyes glowed in eagerness to create a large explosion. A square magical circuit ignited inside, quickly brightening up in bright orange light, followed by even more magical symbols arranging into a circle right behind the first circuit.
A stream of golden orange magma with its colour closing towards the yellow poured out of his throat. The breath of magma passed through the square, concentrating into a bright ray of magma.
The colour of magma in the ray changed to bright yellow with a whitish centre and orange borders as its temperature and concentration increased. The beam passed by and entered the magical circle, stopping and quickly forming a slowly glowing golden-yellow sphere of superconcentrated and superheated magma.
‘To think that it used to be so hard for me to use two magical circuits at once.’
More and more magma concentrated magma kept pouring into the sphere, its colour slowly turning more towards white as the temperature and size kept increasing.
Bright rays of yellowy white light with a little bit of gold were radiating out of the dragon’s mouth, passing between his teeth and illuminating the sky as if he had a star in his mouth.
The circle started to tremble, ‘Now is time for the final phase!’
