Chapter 538: Chapter 489: Beneath the Sky, the Battle of Divine Fall
A terrifying impact, beyond description, erupted in the core of the Morning Star Archive.
It was not a sound, but a piercing shriek that transcended the realm of hearing—the cry of existence itself being ravaged by tremendous force.
The instant the berserk, blood-red Energy collided head-on with the silver-white Space-Time barrier, a terrifying halo—a mixture of dark red, pale gold, silver-white, and the pitch black of spatial rifts—expanded silently and swiftly in a sphere from the point of impact.
Wherever the halo passed, all "matter" and "Order" were brutally rewritten, torn apart, and annihilated by the purest form of Power.
The smooth, hard stone floor, as if gnawed on by an invisible behemoth, disintegrated into vast swathes of the finest powder, which was then caught in the turbulent Energy and swirled into a grayish-white vortex.
The load-bearing stone pillars that reached the vaulted ceiling groaned under the strain. Countless web-like cracks spread across their surfaces as large chunks of rock flaked off and disintegrated. They looked as if they might collapse completely at any moment.
The exquisite reliefs and Magic sigils on the surrounding walls curled, blackened, and turned to ash, like parchment consumed by roaring flames.
Even space itself became unstable.
Light warped. Everything in sight shook and blurred violently, as if the entire world was trembling in fear from this single strike.
This was the aftershock of a collision that transcended the mundane, a power that touched upon the Divine Domain.
However, the multi-layered barrier, forged from Yemiga’s Authority, held. It shuddered violently at the moment of impact, and fine cracks even appeared on its outermost layers, but it did not shatter.
It held Roland’s powerful strike firmly at bay, a mere foot from Yemiga’s body.
Behind the barrier, data streams flooded Yemiga’s amber vertical pupils, scrolling at an unprecedented, frantic pace.
He was analyzing, calculating, reassessing.
His strike having failed to break through, Roland’s figure faltered for a moment under the force of the recoil.
But within the blood mist, those eyes burning with dark-red Flame showed not a hint of discouragement, only an even more ferocious and obstinate will to fight.
"ROAR!"
A furious roar, combining the majesty of a dragon’s cry with a pure, bestial bellow, erupted from Roland’s mouth.
The Power of [Mad Soul], far from weakening in the collision, had been utterly ignited, and now it delved frantically deeper.
In just a few moments, Roland’s physique visibly swelled and grew taller.
This wasn’t a bloated expansion. Instead, his muscles grew more defined, filled with an explosive sense of Power that stretched his once-fitting clothes taut.
On the surface of his skin, a dense layer of hard, ethereal Scales began to appear, shimmering with a bronze, metallic luster.
The pattern of the Scales grew especially clear on key areas like his forehead, neck, and the backs of his hands, exuding an ancient, wild majesty.
His fingernails sharpened and curved slightly, resembling nascent Dragon Claws.
A brutal and primitive pressure, born from an ancient bloodline, began to emanate from him, mingling with his roiling Blood Qi.
[Dragonification] had begun.
Catalyzed by [Mad Soul], his Bronze Dragon Bloodline fully awakened. It fused more deeply with his very life form, causing another leap in his base Attributes.
But that wasn’t all.
Yemiga’s gaze, sharp as a blade, instantly locked onto Roland’s waist.
The "Weaver’s Heart"—embedded in the center of the streamlined Armor belt and resembling the core of a precision timepiece—was now spinning frantically at an unprecedented speed.
The arcane Magic sigils on its surface blazed with a blinding light, as if a miniature sun were imprisoned within.
What concerned Yemiga even more was that as the "Weaver’s Heart" spun madly, it wasn’t just releasing its stored Energy. It was acting like a voracious vortex.
It began to forcibly draw in, convert, and refine torrents of pure yet ferocious Power—siphoning it from the surrounding maelstrom of chaotic Energy, from the residual Energy shaking loose from Yemiga’s barrier, and even from the violently perturbed fabric of Space-Time itself.
And it poured this Power, endlessly, into Roland’s body, which already burned like a furnace.
’Energy absorption and conversion efficiency is abnormal... It’s increasing exponentially.’
Yemiga realized the gravity of the situation.
Roland wasn’t just burning through his own reserves. He was using that berserk Power as his engine, the "Weaver’s Heart" as his infinite fuel supply, and his ever-deepening Dragonification as the vessel. He was caught in an incredibly dangerous vicious cycle, his Power endlessly escalating.
’I can’t give him time!’
Yemiga’s thoughts spun. He abandoned his purely passive defense.
In the brief moment Roland was stalled by the recoil, his newfound power not yet fully mastered, Yemiga seized the initiative and struck!
His left hand maintained the stability of the Space-Time barrier. His right he formed into a sword-hand, pointing it at Roland from across the distance!
"Space-Time Piercing!"
This was no longer a wide-area Stripping or slowing effect. It was a thread of silver-white light, condensed to an almost imperceptible fineness, that ignored all spatial barriers and appeared instantly before Roland’s brow.
This thread of light contained no destructive Energy. Instead, it was a highly concentrated weave of "Time Disruption" and "Spatial Folds." If it struck, the target’s very existence in that spot would be thrown into a chaotic Space-Time labyrinth, causing them to instantly lose all combat capability or even disintegrate entirely.
However, Roland—his [Mad Soul] burning deep, his combat instincts fused with his very flesh—reacted with incredible speed. He didn’t even need to see it; his body reacted as if with precognition, jerking his head sharply to the side.
"TSSST!"
The silver-white thread of light grazed past the corner of his forehead, drawing a spurt of blood and shattering a few ethereal, bronze-colored Scales. It struck a point in the space behind him.
