Chapter 530 - 486: Thunderbolt, Moonlight, and a Hole in the Divine Body
Chapter 530: Chapter 486: Thunderbolt, Moonlight, and a Hole in the Divine Body
’This is bad... At this rate, he’ll wear us down and kill us.’
’His control over Space-Time is too effortless. It’s hard for our attacks to even touch the hem of his clothes... We have to create an opening he absolutely can’t dodge! Just one... one will be enough!’
At that thought, Roland’s voice cut through the clamor of the battlefield.
"Duraga! Avril! Galvis! Buy me time! Three breaths! Just three breaths!"
He offered no further explanation, but their long history of fighting side-by-side allowed his companions to instantly understand his intent.
"Leave it to us!"
Duraga let out a beastly roar, holding his War Axe horizontally across his chest. He unreservedly unleashed the last of the dark red Divine Attribute’s glow from his Iron Glove, forming a solid Dark Red Divine Shield imbued with the will of an ancient forge.
He planted himself like a monolith, a solid wall between Yemiga and Roland.
"Wind, guide me!"
Avril bit the tip of her tongue, suddenly activating a Secret Technique she had learned from the Path of the Forest Speaker. Forcibly stimulating her potential, her speed surged as she began to circle Yemiga rapidly.
Verdant Magic Arrows rained down in a torrent, each one aimed at a potential position Yemiga might move to, a "thread" he might manipulate, or a point where he might gather Power.
Her goal wasn’t to injure him, but to interfere, to delay, to force Yemiga to divide his attention to deal with her.
"A final movement, to crown our victory!"
Galvis’s eyes were bloodshot; he poured nearly his entire soul into the chant.
He plucked the thickest of his remaining strings, producing a single note as heavy as a great hammer striking a drum.
It was followed by a continuous, ever-rising shriek that sounded as if it would tear his throat apart.
This was no longer support, but an all-or-nothing Spiritual Shock aimed directly at Yemiga.
Faced with this sudden shift to a nearly suicidal containment strategy, Yemiga’s movements seemed to freeze for an instant.
It wasn’t that he was suppressed, but that an unexpected and illogical variable—the act of "sacrifice"—had appeared in his "calculation" model.
This extended the "moment" he took to assess the situation by a negligible fraction of a second.
And that fraction of a second was all Roland needed.
He quickly closed his eyes, sinking his entire consciousness deep within his body.
His bloodline boiled, and his soul roared.
The gift from his ancient Bronze Dragon bloodline was fully awakened. The Power of Storm and Thunderbolt gathered, compressed, and transformed frantically within his chest.
The next moment, a blinding, azure electric light shone from deep within his throat.
Fine arcs of electricity danced across his skin. His hair moved without a wind, standing on end.
At the same time, he released his right hand, which could barely hold "Bright Moon" any longer, and instead held the hilt loosely with both hands.
He poured all his remaining Spiritual Power without reservation into the blade that had been his partner for so long.
"Guided by the Wind Spirit, shake the mountains and let their roars fall silent."
A mix of low, ancient Dragon Language and the common tongue was forced from between Roland’s teeth.
With each syllable he uttered, the cold, clear light on Bright Moon’s blade contracted inward, while the faint gold glow upon it grew ever more brilliant.
Bright Moon hummed, responding to him.
Yemiga clearly sensed the terrifying Power gathering within Roland—a Power that was causing space itself to tremble and the flow of time to ripple.
Data streams flashed wildly in his dark yellow, vertical pupils. For the first time, he proactively took a clear offensive stance.
He raised his hands, fingers splayed, and aimed at the heavily protected Roland, as well as the trio of Duraga, Avril, and Galvis who were desperately trying to hold him back.
But just at that critical moment...
"Now!"
Avril shrieked, firing the three-shot Continuous Arrow she had been charging for so long, an attack that nearly drained the last of her Magic Power.
These three Arrows were not aimed at Yemiga, but at the space just in front of his raised hands.
Three points of verdant light exploded, transforming into three madly spinning natural vortexes that devoured Energy.
Although they were crushed by Yemiga’s Power in an instant, they succeeded in throwing the local Energy pathways into Chaos, causing a fatal delay in Yemiga’s Casting.
"Damn it... stop!"
Duraga’s eyes were crimson. He then hurled the Dark Red Divine Shield in his hands, flinging it violently toward Yemiga.
The Shield disintegrated in mid-air, transforming into countless dark red energy Chains that wrapped around Yemiga’s body. Though they shattered on contact, they once again briefly interfered with Yemiga’s absolute control over the surrounding space.
"Urgh!"
Galvis let out a pained grunt as blood seeped from all seven of his facial orifices.
But his fingers, plucking the strings, were as steady as a rock. He played one last note—so twisted and sharp it was beyond the limits of human hearing.
The note ignored physical distance, acting directly upon Yemiga’s core consciousness and causing a momentary, minuscule "error overflow" in his inhuman "calculations."
It was this superposition of three consecutive, minuscule, yet crucial interferences—created by his companions at their utmost limit, even at the cost of harming themselves...
Roland opened his eyes.
A brilliant light shone in his gilded, vertical pupils.
He opened his mouth, and the Storm and Thunderbolt compressed to their absolute limit within his chest found their release...
[Dragon’s Breath]!
BOOM!
A pillar of azure Thunderbolt erupted from his mouth.
The raging lightning was so condensed it was almost liquid. Bearing the majestic might of heaven itself—enough to tear the sky and purify the land—it ignored all distance, instantly piercing through the area his companions had temporarily disrupted.
Wherever it passed, the air ionized with a deafening crackle, and a deep, scorched trench was plowed into the ground.
All the silver "threads" twisted violently in the lightning’s glare, whimpering before temporarily failing.
But this breath of Thunderbolt, powerful enough to melt gold and iron, was not the killing blow. It was...
The vanguard!
Almost at the same instant the Dragon’s Breath was unleashed, Roland raised "Bright Moon"—now transformed into a pure concept of light—high with both hands.
With all his might, he thrust it decisively forward, aiming for the end of the path carved out by the Dragon’s Breath—the weakest point in Yemiga’s defense.
"Thus, this is the blade that shatters all chains,"
"The mirror that pierces illusion and reflects truth."
The blade’s body vanished completely, transforming into a sliver of cold moonlight, so pure it seemed capable of slicing through time and fate itself.
It was not physical, yet it was sharper than any physical object.
It held no heat, yet it carried a chill that could freeze the very soul.
The moonlight followed the Thunderbolt’s path. Though launched second, it arrived first, merging into the raging lightning and plating it with a frigid, decisive finality.
For the first time, Yemiga’s dark yellow, vertical pupils clearly reflected astonishment.
He hadn’t even had time to fully lower his hands. The Space-Time defenses around him had been torn to shreds by the Dragon’s Breath and his companions’ interference. The lethal radiance, a fusion of the Dragon Race’s fury and moonlight’s eternity, was already upon him.
There was no earth-shattering explosion, only a soft yet clear sound, like something piercing a mixture of tough leather and crystal.
The cold moonlight, leading the residual Thunderbolt, pierced through Yemiga’s chest and exited from his back.
On his shell—a body that looked ordinary but in fact contained the Authority of the Gods—it left a bowl-sized, gaping hole. Its edges were as smooth as a mirror, but within it remained crackling sparks of electricity and absolute Void.
Time seemed to freeze at that moment.
Yemiga looked down, staring at the large hole that went straight through his chest.
He saw not flesh and blood, but a structure of flowing, silver data streams and shattered Space-Time Runes. In his dark yellow, vertical pupils, the data streams descended into complete Chaos, finally becoming a bottomless...
Void.
Seeing the horrific hole in Yemiga’s chest, Duraga leaned on his War Axe, panting heavily, and asked in a hoarse voice,
"Is he... dead?"
Avril clutched her bleeding shoulder. Galvis could barely stand. All of their gazes were fixed on the still figure with the light shining through its chest.
Roland himself was also nearly exhausted. The arm holding his sword trembled uncontrollably, and his chest heaved violently. He had not yet gathered the strength to reply.
However...
"Not bad... not bad at all..."
A soft chuckle—calm, clear, and carrying unconcealed admiration along with a bone-chilling hint of amusement—quietly echoed through the deathly silent hall, as if whispered right beside their ears.
"Mr. Roland, as a ’variable’ that exists outside of predetermined fate, you always manage to bring about... the most unexpected ’results’."
