Chapter 433: Chapter 414: Mortal Combat

With another incredibly risky slide, Roland dodged a strand of Shadow Spider Silk that silently snaked toward him.

After steadying himself, his chest heaved violently, his ragged breaths exceptionally clear amidst the clamor of the battlefield.

The high strain of his Dragonification state, coupled with the immense tension, was rapidly draining his stamina and Spirit.

However, under the pressure of this life-or-death crisis, his mind was as clear as if it had been plunged into icy water.

A question, previously suppressed by the divine pressure and the relentless barrage of attacks, now surfaced clearly in his mind.

’This being before me, the one calling itself Corellon... its aura truly contains a shudder-inducing Divine Attribute, placing it at an extremely high rank...’

’But the actual destructive Power it’s displaying right now...’

Relying on the superior reflexes and speed of his Dragonification, Roland weaved and parried through countless emerald Arrows, Force Field Waves, and Acid Missiles. All the while, his mind was racing, analyzing everything amidst the various Rule-based interferences.

’...it’s nowhere near the world-shattering level that Gods of legend are supposed to possess!’

Although he had never personally witnessed the sight of a God attacking with their full power, both intuition and logic told him that if his opponent truly was the Elf Main God in their complete form, even a casual strike would be impossible for him to block, let alone dodge.

Its coordination of Magic was indeed exquisite, like the finest work of art. It maximized the effect of every Low Ring and Middle Ring Spell to create perfect tactical suppression.

But if he ignored the troublesome Power of Rules and considered only the pure might of the Magic itself...

CLANG!

The Moonlight Longsword precisely parried an emerald Arrow imbued with a "Guaranteed Hit" effect. The Power of Nature infused in the Arrow made his arm slightly numb, but that was all.

He shifted with ghost-like footwork, and a searing ray of light grazed his temple, singeing a few strands of his hair.

’...It’s simply not enough to pose a fatal threat to my Dragonified body and my Fighting Spirit defenses!’

’What’s truly tying my hands and keeping me in constant peril are the Rule Fragments mixed into the attacks. This Power, which touches upon the fundamental laws of the world, is the real problem!’

SWISH!

With another swing of his sword, his Blood-colored Fighting Spirit flared, forcibly shattering a Force Field Wave that attempted to distort the space around him.

Amidst the magical radiance that filled the air, Roland’s eyes narrowed slightly.

A glint of determination flashed in his gilded, slitted pupils.

’In that case... rather than letting my strength be drained by these endless harassing attacks and Rule interferences, I might as well...’

’...gamble everything!’

His mind made up, Roland stopped simply dodging and parrying.

He took a deep breath, as if trying to suck all the surrounding air into his lungs. He then planted his feet firmly on the ravaged ground as if they had taken root, gripping the hilt of his Moonlight Longsword with both hands and holding it upright before him.

VMMMM—!

The Primordial Core within him began to spin wildly at an unprecedented rate.

The surging Dragon Blood and pure Fighting Spirit were no longer just sustaining his Dragonification and defenses. Instead, like a hundred rivers flowing into the sea, they converged madly toward his arms and into the Moonlight Longsword.

To the naked eye, a Blood-colored Fighting Spirit, boiling like magma, steamed from the pores of his entire body, then coiled around the blade of the Moonlight Sword as if drawn to it.

The blade began to hum violently, as if unable to withstand such immense Power.

The air around the blade’s edge even began to distort and ionize from the highly concentrated Energy, emitting a faint crackling sound.

An aura of Destruction—far purer, more tyrannical, and more concentrated than ever before—began to slowly rise and gather with Roland at its center.

Roland lowered his gaze, glancing at the Longsword in his hands.

The blade of the Moonlight Sword, once as silver as the moon, was now completely suffused with the surging Blood-colored Fighting Spirit, transformed into a crimson longblade that seemed forged from both coagulated blood and boiling Energy.

The blade hummed and trembled ceaselessly, as if rejoicing and wailing at the same time, nearly tearing itself from his grasp.

’A pity...’

Seeing this, a trace of helplessness flashed through Roland’s mind.

’Even though I’ve had my Awakening of the Primordial Core and possess a near-infinite source of Energy, my control over Fighting Spirit is still far too crude...’

As his thoughts raced, Corellon’s new wave of attacks was already upon him.

There was no more time to hesitate, and there was no path of retreat.

The Dragonified muscles on Roland’s arms suddenly swelled and tightened, knotting like steel cables as he poured every ounce of his body’s Power, along with the boiling Blood-colored Fighting Spirit, into them.

The next moment, he let out a guttural, tearing roar.

He fearlessly swung the crimson Moonlight Sword—which now felt as heavy as a mountain—downward in a display of pure, savage force.

BOOM!

It wasn’t the sound of a blade cutting through wind, but a roar like a crimson river bursting its banks.

An incredibly condensed, crescent-shaped wave of blood-red Sword Qi, several meters wide, surged forth from the edge of his sword, roaring like a primordial beast breaking free of its chains.

Wherever the Sword Qi passed, the ground was carved open, leaving a bottomless, scorched trench.

The earth and rock on either side were not pushed aside, but directly annihilated and vaporized by the rampaging Energy.

The air filled with the pungent smell of sulfur and burning.

Arrows, spider silk, Magic Missiles...

Under the assault of the Sword Qi, all of Corellon’s attacks melted away like snow and ice under direct sunlight.

Finally, the blood-red Sword Qi slammed heavily into the Force Field Net descending from above.

The Power of Rules, representing "Absolute Imprisonment," clashed madly against the Blood-colored Fighting Spirit, producing a grating sound of twisting metal that set one’s teeth on edge.
